To connect it, you need to dial a command on your phone containing a special code and the phone number of the person you are supposed to monitor. In this case, a corresponding request will appear on that phone, which will need to be confirmed via SMS message. You can connect several numbers at once. The price of one SMS request is 2 UAH. A similar service is also provided by MTS - “Child under supervision”. The principle of its connection and use is similar. If necessary, you can install a special application for Android. Details.

The cost of sending SMS is also 2 UAH. If you wish, you can purchase additional bonuses (for example, in the case of MTS, you can buy a package of 20 requests for 25 UAH). The use of web traffic is charged in accordance with your tariff plan.

The undoubted advantage of such a service is its simplicity. No computer or other equipment required. It is enough to simply provide your child with a mobile phone, and it can be any, even the simplest and cheapest model. It is also important that parents do not have to be near a computer or have a smartphone with constant Internet access.

By the way, as statistics collected by MTS Ukraine show, 80% of Ukrainian schoolchildren aged 6 to 13 already have mobile phones. That is, the method using the services of a cellular operator is suitable for the vast majority of parents.

As for the shortcomings, we can note the fact that the position is determined using aGPS, that is, using cell towers. And this means far from the highest accuracy; the error can range from several tens to several hundred meters, depending on the terrain and the number of towers. However, this technique is most suitable for most urban parents.

Method two. GPS tracker

In this case, you will need to purchase a special device called a GPS tracker (GPS beacon, GPS bug). This is, in fact, a mobile phone, but with an exaggerated GPS component. Devices usually have the ability to answer incoming calls, and sometimes also call multiple numbers. That is, in this case you will not need to buy an additional phone. However, there are also very compact models that lack a telephone component.

The device will allow you to determine the location of the child with very high accuracy at any time. Parents are required to buy the tracker itself, equip it with a SIM card and make settings.

The device can be programmed to perform a fairly wide range of tasks. For example, at a given time, send SMS messages with location data or in the event that an object has left the territory before a specified time (the “geo-fence” function). And, of course, at any time you can find out the exact location of the child by visiting a special resource on the Internet. That is, real-time monitoring is provided.

In this case, the costs depend on the tariff conditions of the selected operator. As for the tracker itself, the cost of the device usually ranges from 60 to 200 US dollars. Also, some companies selling GPS trackers provide all sorts of additional services. For example, the ability to store detailed information about all movements for a long time.

The undoubted advantages of this method are the high accuracy of location determination - the error may not exceed 2-3 meters (however, much depends on the quality of the received signal). And the small size of some GPS trackers that do not have a telephone component allows them to be placed in a secret pocket behind the lining of outerwear, which reduces the chance of losing the device.

Method three. Special mobile application

This technique is not suitable for everyone, because it requires providing the child with a smartphone equipped with the appropriate application. So, in the case of an iPhone, this could be, and if we are talking about an Android smartphone, then an application like Cerberus. There are many other options, such as the Russian program “Tracker Plus” - in this case, both free options with tracking and additional paid services are possible, such as all kinds of notifications via SMS or e-mail.

This method is bad in that it requires the presence of an expensive and fragile device, which is not advisable to give into children’s hands. And it’s not even that a child can easily break it. A potentially expensive item will quickly attract unnecessary attention from intruders.
