5.1 and 7.1 speaker systems, for obvious reasons (bulkyness, racks for installing rear satellites, price, etc.), have not become the subject of mass demand, although surround sound in games, on the contrary, has long been a de facto standard. It is not surprising that in recent years, more convenient and simple solutions for obtaining surround sound have appeared in the lines of many manufacturers of audio devices - headphones and headsets 5.1 and 7.1. Razer Tiamat 7.1, perhaps one of the most uncompromising solutions of this class.

In principle, sound card manufacturers, together with game developers, have long learned to emulate surround sound on 2.1 and 2.0 systems, but this, like any emulation, is a half measure. If you really want to feel immersive in the game, and in the case of online battles, and gain an advantage over the enemy, drastic measures are needed. And Razer went for them.

V Razer Tiamat 7.1 there are no virtual channels and emulation, each earphone has five real speakers. One 40 mm neodymium driver for bass (Subwoofer), two 30 mm for the front channel (Front Left or Right) and center, two 20 mm for the side (Surround Left or Right) and rear (Surround Back Left or Right) channels. Total: 10 independent speakers for reliable recreation of eight-channel sound - more than enough.

With full channel separation, sound Razer Tiamat 7.1 shocking. There is really a lot of sound, sometimes it seems even too much - the pressure and power in active battle scenes in Battlefield 3 or Call of Duty threatens to simply sweep you away. Surprisingly, the details are also on top, clear sonorous highs, deep bass, detailed mids, no mess and competition between the ranges. Perhaps this is one of the best gaming headsets on the market.

Naturally, to get 8-channel audio, you will need either a 7.1-capable motherboard or a separate sound card. We recommend the latter. Of the modern PCI-E models, the most affordable are ASUS Xonar DX and Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI Express. We used the older model of the Xonar range, recently introduced on - ASUS Xonar Phoebus.

Music even in the traditional stereo format is decomposed into ten speakers surprisingly well. Of course, the sound here may seem somewhat artificial to some, but the feeling when listening to classical music or movie soundtracks, as if you are sitting in the very center of a symphony orchestra, is very interesting. However, for music, we still recommend Razer Tiamat 7.1 First of all, it's a gaming headset.

By dimensions and weight Razer Tiamat 7.1 close to Razer Chimaera 5.1. These are large closed headphones with massive oval ear cushions. The headset sits perfectly on the head, without creating much discomfort, but it is worth considering that the weight and dimensions of the Tiamat 7.1 are considerable, which may not please some users.

Soft leatherette ear pads are removable and can be replaced if necessary. The sound isolation here is almost perfect, even at maximum volume you will not disturb others, and extraneous sounds will disappear for you already at a quarter of the power.

The headset looks simply amazing, especially if you use it without protective pads with magnetic attachment to the ear pads. In this case, all ten speakers are visible under the transparent plastic, which is impressive. The Razer logo is illuminated at the bottom of the ear pads. The large headband is stitched with a thick green thread and bears the company logo on the outside. A retractable microphone is hidden in the left earpiece, somewhat reminiscent of a segmented jaw of an alien, the upper part is rigid, the lower one can bend. The quality of the microphone, by the way, is just excellent.

Razer Tiamat 7.1 are connected to a computer (and only to a computer) through a massive control module. There are 5 standard 3.5 mm audio jacks in the bundle - Front (green), Center and Subwoofer (orange), Side surround (gray), Rear surround (black) and microphone (pink), plus USB for powering the unit itself and lighting. The module allows you to adjust the volume for each channel, turn off the sound and switch from 7.1 to 2.0 mode. In addition, using a separate adapter, you can connect desktop speakers to the unit, then you can switch between a headset and an audio system. The only thing I didn't like was a very thick, rigid cable from the headphones themselves to the control module.

The packaging deserves special mention. Razer Tiamat 7.1. As with other high-end Razer products, this is a true work of art.

Razer Tiamat 7.1, undeniably one of the best gaming headsets that have passed through our hands. Of course, not everyone needs full-fledged 7.1 sound in games, but if you are a maximalist and a very considerable cost will not stop you Razer Tiamat 7.1($200 in Ukraine) – you will get an excellent, rich and bright gaming sound, ultra-precise positioning and a truly stylish exclusive device. For less demanding users, there is a cheaper version of Tiamat 2.2 with four drivers.

If you take ordinary gaming headphones (headset), then, as a rule, its main problem is the lack of bass in playing tracks, but Razer fixed this problem by releasing the Tiamat 7.1 model to the market. This gaming headset can not only reproduce sound at a very high quality level, making it truly impressive and voluminous, but also build it in 7.1 playback format. These are not just words, but in fact a reality that is hard to believe when holding Tiamat 7.1 in your hands.

Content:

When I looked at the price tag and saw the figure of 8890 rubles, I was even somewhat discouraged and upset, but everything changed after I put them on and turned on the music. I was simply blown away by the excellent sound quality and my disappointment with the price for this product was somewhat smoothed over, however, I decided to take a closer look at the Tiamat 7.1 before I make a final conclusion on whether it is worth paying such money for them or not.

The first thing that caught my eye is that Tiamat 7.1 is connected using a 3.5 mm audio jack to any port that supports audio. But, at the same time, if you want to get real 7.1 sound, the connected device must have an integrated playback function in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound format and 3 input jacks. If your device only has one stereo audio jack, you won't be able to hear 7.1 sound through your headphones.

Design and comfort

The Razer Tiamat is one of the most comfortable headsets I've tested. During testing, the large, soft cups and padded headband sat very firmly on my large head without squeezing it. The microphone is hidden inside the left ear cup, for this there is a special niche in the plastic frame of the cup, where it can be stored when not in use. The microphone goes down and then tilts towards the mouth. The green Razer logos at the base of the ear cups light up when worn, adding to the appeal and style of wearing them. I liked it - it's very beautiful.

Unlike some other high-end gaming headsets, such as Razer's Star Wars: The Gaming Headset Old Republic ($5,000) or Logitech's G35 ($4,170), there is no control box on the Tiamat 7.1 headphones themselves. Instead, there is a control unit located on the cable with a headset and a connection plug. The box has a large volume control, a small channel control knob and three buttons for working with the microphone, speakers, and enabling/disabling surround sound. By default, the volume knob changes the signal strength level. When you press the volume control, it acts as a mute button.

Button 7.1 is one of the most convenient controls that Tiamat 7.1 has. This button launches a special program that makes it virtually split the signal into many channels and tracks, making it voluminous and as realistic as possible. Disabling this button turns the 7.1 format into a regular stereo sound format, which is also excellent in principle, although its sound is less realistic.

Tiamat 7.1 sound

The first thing I started testing the Tiamat 7.1 with was, of course, checking the level of bass reproduction. It should be noted that the sound of these sounds is not just good, but simply fantastic. I listened to the audio tracks with the maximum amount of bass, I played "Silent Shout" in which explosions sounded every second and they sounded natural. These weren't just computer-simulated flat sounds - they were real, live sounds like I heard them in the real world.

But miracles do not happen, these headphones are not very well suited for listening to music, because. Their main purpose is to reproduce special effects. This model has an emphasis on low frequencies, and therefore high and medium frequencies fade into the background a little. This does not mean that they do not exist, just the sound is different from the music. It's still at a good level, but when compared to headphones designed for music playback, which cost about the same, for example, it turns out that the Sennheiser sounds better. But in games or when watching a movie, Razer certainly excels.

It was in Tiamat 7.1 that I enjoyed playing Team Fortress 2 more than playing it with Logitech G35 and Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega, although they cost much more than Tiamat 7.1.

Conclusion

I can say that the Razer Tiamat 7.1 is a great option for those who want to get the most realistic surround sound from the sound reproduction in computer games and when watching movies.

This is perhaps the best implementation of the 7.1 format that I have heard using headphones for this. Of course, the price is somewhat high, but the practice of its operation shows that it is worth it.

Pros:

  • Great, powerful sound
  • Good ergonomics, sit comfortably on the head;
  • High-quality assembly, nothing creaks, no backlash;
  • Cable in a good sheath;
  • Good sound isolation, soft ear pads.

Minuses:

  • A rather specific requirement: a good 7.1 sound card in the computer;
  • Although the headphones are comfortable, they are bulky, keep this in mind;
  • High price;
  • Not the best option for listening to music only;

Greetings to all readers of the site! I haven’t written any reviews for a long time, but since I have free time, today I would like to talk about my painful choice of a gaming headset. Thinking many "gamblers" faced a similar problem ... Was he justified? Please under cat. For those who have too many letters - watch the video and read the conclusions)))). Thank you, too!

All that I will write below is my opinion and my choice, but there is no dispute about tastes - it can be completely opposite for you!

For a long time I already own a computer and all kinds of set-top boxes (not all at once, of course - the older ones go to rest with friends or are sold), i.e. I'm not averse to playing ... In the late 90s, it was lucky to play heroes or C&C: Red Alert even on b.w. monitor (poor eyes!) and listening to something sobbing from a 5 dollar plastic Genius, now the situation has changed radically, huge budgets are invested in games for sounding and music and I want to hear it all as best as possible)))). True, I don’t understand why this phrase in the review touched many, but I won’t remove it - it’s true! The teenager simply did not have money for a color monitor, but he really wanted to play! If you rented a Sony PS1 console, you squeezed all the juice out of it, played for 20 hours and with red eyes, sleepy, but happy, carried it back to the rental ... And if you used to play mainly single-player games (strategies, where are you !? ) both due to the lack of a sane Internet, and a special desire to play such games, now the situation has changed dramatically. Priority is a team game, a game with real people. Some games, for example, Battlefield 3,4 - a single player company is not even completed, 1-2 missions and hello BATTLELOG.

Each of us will have our favorite - WarThunder, World of Tanks, Battlefield, WoW, Diablo ... and I have this World of Warplanes)))) for months playing only promotions, but still returning ... I’ll just ask you not to start another war, which game is better - this is not about that and any choice must be respected, thank you! So - what is important for a team game? Communication with your comrades-in-arms, so to speak, and of course it is desirable to hear and feel the battlefield in all colors and sounds ... You never know where the bullet-projectile will fly from)))! For this, of course, ordinary headphones and a microphone will do, but I chose from gaming ones, such as multi-channel 5.1 ...
What else I want to note right away is that gaming headphones are focused specifically on GAMES - i.e. It's bass, bass, and more bass. Especially for listening to music, you need to look towards completely different manufacturers and the prices there are also much higher ... But for simple listening in the background, they, of course, should be suitable. All IMHO.

And since I really like the company's peripherals (very decent quality and support), I chose the headset primarily from the assortment of this company. I didn’t particularly worry about the sound quality, because. I have had speakers for several years already, they are connected to a home theater via optics, I took Microlab as a replacement, I am very pleased with them. Especially without thinking for a long time, but after reading only a couple of reviews, I bought it. Meet the wireless headset. from the manufacturer's website.

Firstly, I'm tired of the wires, I have their wagon and a small cart ... though mostly at the table.
Secondly, I liked the additional keys and volume control on the headset, as well as the ability to turn off the microphone by simply lifting it.

Thirdly, at that time the keyboards (the main and special gaming ones for the left hand) and the mouse were also Logitech and it was all controlled by the LGS program alone, which is very convenient.

But after some time (quite a long time), I began to look for a new ideal among headsets, why?

The most critical flaws for me:
- the volume, it's just not there, and I like to listen to music and play "loudly" in order to fully feel the atmosphere of the battle (missed calls confirm this). And this is rather strange, because there is no such problem in its wired version! Because of the wirelessness, did they deliberately reduce the power so that they “live” more on a single charge? Maybe.
You can't listen to music in them at all. We get just a mess of sounds and also gurgling if the Dolby mode is on, and it is usually on because in games it adds juiciness to explosions and shots. Those. played, filmed, switched to speakers, listening to music... Perhaps if you listen to music on the simplest speakers or are not demanding on its quality, then this is not a problem for you at all.
- selection of sound source in games. It is necessary to constantly “poke” the desired device in the control panel (I know about the soft switch option, I installed it almost immediately, but it (or rather, not all games with it) does not always work correctly).
If at first there is euphoria from the new device, then all these little things start to just annoy.
Otherwise, there are no special complaints - they are qualitatively assembled (I met a couple of reviews that after three years a cup fell off a person), they sit comfortably, do not press. It takes everywhere in a 1-room apartment, the sound does not interrupt and does not stutter, the battery lasts for 5 hours, when it sits down - we connect the cable and play on. The microphone is very good, no one complained, it would be nice if it was retracted into the case or disconnected altogether. By the way, I almost don’t use the keys, it’s convenient only to “flip through” the music in the kitchen and adjust the sound, but it’s somehow faster to launch applications with the mouse ... About the sound in movies and games - I won’t say anything particularly good or bad, average ... Virtual multi-channel seems to be there , but it seems like it’s not ... But again, there’s just something to compare with - Microlab Solo 6 speakers are connected to the computer, and Z906 to the consoles, as I wrote above. And the sound quality is no longer affected - the fact that the headset has its own sound card and there is no way to replace it, consider this point when buying. Headphones did not sell - it turns out they work with the Playstation.

I approached the choice of the next headset already fully armed - I knew what I wanted and therefore did not react so lightly. I re-read a bunch of forums and opinions and generally lost heart, everything is bad ... for example, the same catalog of headsets on the site where I bought and you will understand everything. The choice is simply huge, but you won’t know about all the shortcomings ... I decided for myself that I want something from “real” 5.1 or 7.1 headphones, with really several speakers, and not the next virtualizations of manufacturers that do not always work well, as I have already seen ... And here the choice is sharply reduced))) These are the famous Speedlink Medusa, Roccat Kave, Tritton, Cooler Master Storm Sirus (ASUS Strix 7.1 was not on sale then) and several others ... BUT - EVERYTHING has drawbacks: workmanship, sound , microphone, prices finally ... I settled on the Razer Tiamat Elite 7.1, because. I liked their "trick" with the remote control, the appearance, the number of speakers and was still under the impression of the recently purchased Razer Orbweaver))). Of course, other headsets had their own "chips" - the same remote control, the ability to answer cell phone calls via Bluetooth, etc. They also attracted SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prizm, but the release of the defective SteelSeries Siberia Elite series completely discouraged them.
So, it's decided - Tiamat! Let's see what the respected Internet says about them ... mmmm, expensive, reliability problems - plastic and ... a microphone !? the basis of the headset, your division ... and many write that everything is fine with the microphone. We take.

I will not describe the process of buying in this store, and so it turns out a lot of text, few people can handle it. Who cares, especially Belarusians - read in my other reviews,
Just don’t throw tomatoes at me that they say I’m fat ... Yes, everything is clear, now we have a crisis in our countries, there is no money, not at all and ... we go to the bank to withdraw dollars))) Devaluation ... But on the other hand, this was all bought before it, and in the second euro, then we have fallen in price !!! At least some joy! Yes, and the Belarusian brothers raised the limit to us up to 200 euros! The mood got better? Go ahead.

The most important difference between Tiamat and G930 (and in general these are representatives of two types of headsets - with USB connection and with analog connectors to the sound card) is the presence or absence of its own sound card. Those. Razer Tiamat 7.1 Elite depends entirely on the sound card installed on your computer (laptop) and requires the appropriate connectors, sometimes there are incidents with connecting to some Creative cards - they have a slightly different connection system, so check everything before buying! And that's why this headset does not have any software in the kit - not "improvers" and not drivers! All settings through the software of your sound card. If you want real 7.1 sound - check what sound card you have, because. many allow only 5.1 acoustics (or even stereo, like some laptops) to connect.

Received, unpacked ... I hope that they did not swell all the money into this package. Beautiful, but useless, it's good that in any case they will come not mutilated. from the manufacturer's website.

And here are the beauties themselves:

The remote control really turned out to be very, very useful - the problem with switching between speakers and a headset was solved. Hooray! On/off volume, microphone, convenient volume control for all channels individually and together (headset only), stereo or multi-channel mode selection.

There are removable magnetic pads on the headset cups - so that my cat and dogs can see that I really have several speakers in my headphones, sic!

But if you, like me, have a habit of adjusting the headphones with your hand, expect the caps to fly off, they don’t hold well, a weak magnet and fitting of the part. Rather, it keeps ... alone.
Video:

It's been a few months since you bought it, what's better or worse than your previous headset?

All three shortcomings of the G930 are absent in this headset: the volume is simply excellent, switching sources with 1 button and listening to music is also nothing (but good speakers will not replace!). It seems like the ideal has been found, but no matter how - the performance of the microphone is simply terrible, it's just a plastic stump dangling like something bad in the hole! Horror. In order for you to be heard normally, you need to put it forward and bring it closer to your lips, but he does not want to stay in this position ... and if you also do it 10 times a day. Through the settings of my sound card, I tuned it to a more acceptable level, the echo and mumbling disappeared when I turned off the echo cancellation ?! no matter how strange it might be. In general, Razer is simply ashamed to release such a thing. Therefore, I speak through the microphone of the Logitech webcam, they know how to make microphones. The sound quality on the built-in Realtek sound card is not nearly as good as that of Logitech, BUT there is an opportunity to fix it - install something better, I bought an Asus Phoebus Solo, i.e. again expenses ... But the sound has improved very much - not only in headphones, but also in speakers. The volume appeared (maybe the placebo effect - all the same, 100 dollars for a sound card)))), more distinguishable positioning. Games, movies, music - listen and listen ... Therefore, lovers of high-quality sound - maybe you don’t need a headset, but a sound card? What else - the wire does not particularly interfere, it is of high quality, in a cloth sheath, should live for a long time. The headphones themselves are very comfortable, the pads are large and very soft, they sit well and self-adjust to any head))). They look very nice, but they do not inspire - the plastic is not thick, flimsy, even if you throw it hard, it will break (and in the G930 it seems like steel in the headband).

Conclusions: ideal not found. Both headsets have flaws and shortcomings. At about the same cost, I definitely recommend Tiamat (better positioning, volume, sound quality, subject to a good sound card), but if the price differs by an order of magnitude - I bought the G930 for $ 75 and you do not plan to spend more money on a sound card, then Logitech - Headphones are high-quality, simple and wireless to the same. Still, the main downside of the Razer Tiamat is the total cost of buying it if you don't already have a good sound card.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who read to the end, well, I can not write briefly. I'll try to improve as I get feedback and comments. Happy shopping and world peace!

P.P.S. About 5 euro discount (referral) for the first purchase in the store

Through hearing, we receive almost as much information as through sight, which is why a high-quality gaming audio system is an integral part of the equipment of a modern gamer. The player must determine by ear where the enemy is sneaking up from, and high-quality surround sound makes it possible to plunge deeper into the game world. It is best, of course, to use a full-fledged 7.1 speaker system, but not everyone has the opportunity to properly install it in the room, and this is unlikely to please those around them. Finally, a high-quality kit costs sky-high, and you can’t take it with you to competitions. On the other hand, you can use ordinary stereo headphones: they are compact, comfortable and do not interfere with others, but even a high-quality and expensive gadget will not let you enjoy a truly voluminous environment: it is almost impossible to correctly understand whether the danger is ahead or behind you, despite all software tricks.

Fortunately, there is a class of products that combines the advantages of these two designs, namely headsets with 5.1 or 7.1 technology, which use a large number of speakers, like in floor-standing systems, but they are not placed throughout the room, but are compactly compressed in the ear cups. The Razer Tiamat 7.1 gaming headset is one of the ultimate representatives of this class, and we will test it today.

Inside the box, made in traditional colors for Razer, we found the headphones themselves, connected to a rather weighty remote control, two magnetic pads on the cups, a cable for connecting external speakers, traditional stickers and instructions.

When looking at the gadget, one gets the impression of power and brutality, because inside each earphone there are five speakers (!), And the transparent cover of the case allows everyone to enjoy their view. The speakers are trimmed with green edging, and the company's green logo is lit at the bottom. For those who do not like to show off to others, there are also special linings on magnets that cover all the insides.

Tiamat are closed-type headphones: soft oval ear cushions made of artificial leather wrap around the entire ear, slightly pressing down on the auricle. The pads are interchangeable, and if necessary, they can be easily replaced. The ear cushions provide excellent sound insulation: even at full power, others will not hear them, and extraneous sounds will disappear for you already at half the comfortable volume. The headband consists of two parts: an external plastic frame and a self-adjusting structure inside. No more need to adjust the size of the headphones to fit your head, Tiamat will do it for you. The inner headband is covered with kazhzam and stitched with green threads. On top of it there is an inscription “Razer”, and on the bottom there are soft shock-absorbing pads that evenly distribute the load on the head.

The wire goes to the left cup, from there, with a slight movement of the hand, a folding microphone is removed, which can be positioned as you like due to the flexible middle part. The microphone has a high sensitivity, so you have to lower it a little with the remote control. It is narrowly focused, so it does not pick up third-party voices and noises, plus there is a slight noise reduction, but the design is a little loose.

Each cup contains: a 40 mm subwoofer responsible for bass, two 30 mm satellites for the front and center channels and two 20 mm speakers for the side and rear channels. A total of 10 independent speakers and a full eight-channel sound. Headphones are connected to the computer using a massive fabric-braided cable, which on the tail breaks up as much as 5 audio jacks (Front - green), Сenter and Subwoofer - orange, Side surround - gray, Rear surround - black and microphone - pink) and also USB connector for power. All connectors are gold plated. In other words, there will be no slots left on the sound card for connecting something else. Fortunately, the developers have thought of you and me, and put an additional three-channel splitter in the kit, which allows you to connect an additional sound system.

The control panel is quite heavy and is designed to be placed on a table. Most of it is occupied by the volume wheel, around which the current level is marked with green risks, pressing it activates the “Mute” mode. Above is a small toggle switch that switches the volume control by channel. Below are three buttons: mute the microphone, force the decomposition of stereo sound into eight channels, as well as switch the signal from the headphones to an external audio system. For the latter, I would like to thank Razer separately: you don’t have to climb into the Windows settings. Due to the fact that the headset is analog, and the USB cable is used exclusively for power, no drivers are required for its operation, and all sound settings are carried out using third-party software.

The usability of the Razer Tiamat is at a good level. On the one hand, the cups are tightly pressed, and on the other hand they do not press, causing a headache. The headband also does not exert much pressure due to the thoughtful design. Weight, despite the 10 speakers, is not strongly felt. As a result, you can work in headphones without discomfort for about 4 hours. The only negative is that artificial leather does not allow air to pass through, so after such a long work in the headset, the ears sweat. During sharp turns of the head, the headphones do not move and do not move out of their rightful place.

To experience all the possibilities provided by the headset, you will need a sound card that supports the 7.1 standard, and not built into the motherboard, but separate and, preferably, not cheap. So, with a good sound card, the Razer Tiamat simply has no competitors both in games and when watching movies. A special difference becomes noticeable when comparing the emulated 7.1 sound and the “iron” sound of our ward. Tiamat has a lively and voluminous sound: both low and high frequencies are perfectly distinguishable. You can hear both rustles and shots, and if something exploded somewhere, you feel it literally with your whole body, thanks to large subwoofers.

With positioning, too, everything is fine: it will not be difficult to determine where the sound comes from. But with music playback, headphones may have problems: it is not so easy to get a record that was originally divided into 7 channels, and if you do it artificially, the sound is distorted. On the other hand, heavy compositions sound good thanks to the same subwoofers. The volume margin is decent: you don't need to raise the sound level above half the scale.

The Razer Tiamat 7.1, bess, is one of the best gaming headsets on the market: lightweight, comfortable, stylish. But the main thing, of course, is the real “iron” 7.1 sound with great bass, which will not only give you an advantage in online battles, but also allow you to get a previously unexplored gaming experience. True, the cost of Tiamat cannot be called democratic: the average price on the Russian market is 15,000 rubles, plus you will have to fork out for a good audio card. If you already have a sound card and like active games, then the Razer Tiamat is definitely your choice.

Problem solved

Pros: Good sound in games and movies. Excellent positioning. Convenient remote control and headphone/speaker switching. Disadvantages: Manufacturing quality Comment: I bought Tiamat immediately after the start of sales in Russia, those were a little more than 2 years ago. Used carefully, but they did not last more than 2 years. It all seems to be due to poor design. The first bell was already after six months of operation - the backlight LED in one "ear" stopped burning. A year later, when the warranty had already ended, the "center" in the left "ear" stopped working - the cable frayed somewhere. I could not find where to repair and did it myself, stretching the wire to the "central" speaker from the opposite one. After a couple of months, the plastic shackle began to crack - it broke in two places. Okay, repaired with glue, steel wire for rigidity and electrical tape - of course it was possible to operate, but the appearance is terrible. Power was supplied to the headphones through a hub built into the monitor. And when the monitor suddenly went out, it turned out that Tiamat was to blame for this - somewhere inside the headphones there was a short circuit in the USB power supply. Fortunately, after turning off the headphones, the monitor worked. P.S. In their group in VK, the official representatives of Razer in Russia, rub all non-laudatory reviews without explanation.

Problem solved

Advantages: + Very high quality workmanship + Nice box + Stylish design + 10 speakers + Truly surround sound + Control panel with detailed settings + Good sound isolation + Excellent bass its price category, but better than any ears for 2 thousand rubles. - You need a good sound card from the Creative Titanium category or Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus (I decided to take a titanium, an already proven card), without a separate sound card, the sound quality comes to naught. - For those who have little space at the table, it will be a bit stressful, the wire at the ears is thick and the control panel also needs to be put somewhere. - The complexity of setting up 7.1 sound on the remote control and in Windows, for those who have never encountered this, you will have to spend several hours setting up the optimal sound for yourself. - They make noise when USB power is connected - The microphone is useless, my old Genius for 150r transmits much better sound. - Well, the price, of course, I understand that 7.1 is all right, but 8500 rubles ... Comment: I will say this: If you are a Gamer and love shooters, your ears are definitely for you! Playing Battlefield-3 at the first explosions I heard, I even shuddered, and not because it was loud, but because it was REALLY high quality! I even heard the ricochets of bullets in which direction they fly off, and when shooting from a machine gun there was a feeling that I was holding it in real hands, the sounds of the shot shake the headphone speakers a bit! (but there is one subtlety, in order to hear all this you need to turn off the "Improved stereo mode" in the settings in the game itself and set the sound player to Hi-Fi or Home. Cinema). Watching DTS movies with 7.1 sound is also above all praise, perfect sound. In general, those who play games or watch 7.1 movies, I recommend these headphones, and those who only play mp3 tracks will probably not like these headphones. PS About the noise in the headphones during a USB connection, where I didn’t plug them in ... In the USB computer, the sounds of the computer are heard, i.e. mouse movement, hard drive activity, etc. Then I plugged them into a power outlet via a USB adapter from Logitech mice, the noise of the computer naturally disappeared, but a high-frequency whistle appeared, then I connected the USB power of the headphones to my LCD TV, the whistle disappeared like the noise of the computer, but still some operation noises were heard (apparently already the noise of the TV), then I changed the USB I plugged the Logitech adapter into the SonyEricsson phone charging adapter, almost all the noises disappeared, including the whistle, of course, if you listen, you can still hear the noise of "pure ether" but these are already trifles. So, in fact, either I have a jamb with a copy of the ears, or they are all like that, the subsequent customer reviews who bought the Razer Tiamat 7.1 will show

Advantages: - Oddly enough, workmanship (because recently Razer has not shone with quality) - Appearance causes a "wow effect", everyone pays attention to them - Sound 7.1 Disadvantages: - The knob for volume settings by channels is not highlighted - very inconvenient - Inadequately chosen length of the cord - from the headphones to the remote control it is too small, but from the remote control to the PC is too much - Too overpriced, even taking into account the fact that we sell them for 6680 rubles. I estimate their cost in the region of 3500 rubles, the rest is just a cheat for the brand and appearance (all gaming headsets sin with this). - To evaluate the sound, you simply need a high-quality discrete sound card, which entails additional hefty costs. Without a good discrete ZK, they should not even be considered for purchase. - Music in stereo sounds, of course, terrible - that's why you need to either use Dolby, or pump all the music in DTS 5.1 or similar. Comment: Before that, I used a bunch of Creative Titanium HD + Audio-Technica ATH-A700 for a long time, the sound was excellent everywhere and always. Even earlier there were headphones like the Creative Aurvana Live! and SpeesLink Medusa NX 5.1. So there is something to compare with. So, Razer Tiamat 7.1... I get asked all the time if it's worth buying? I can only answer one thing for sure - I would not buy them for the price offered on the Razer website, no way. 8800 - this is no way, of course ... Otherwise, everything is subjective, and I'm not your adviser. :) The sound in games after dancing with a tambourine began to suit almost completely - it took a particularly long time to steam with Skyrim. They help to navigate in space, although there are not enough rears, of course ... thousand for show-off and beauty - it's definitely worth buying. You can listen to music in them, and it sounds quite good - but only in 5.1 (DTS, for example). At least I like it. Now I listened to http://rutracker.org /forum/viewtopic.php?t=1345195 using APlayer, I like it. :) As for the microphone, I don't know what anyone doesn't like, it works just fine for me. I didn’t have any noise in the headphone speakers and I don’t have it - it’s all about grounding, which I apparently have. And there weren’t any on the codec built into Asus Maximus V Gene either. UPD I changed it to Creative ZxR + amplifier + Sennheizer HD650 , since not by single games ... Orientation in space is different Even in BF3, especially with the free Razer Surround (http://www.razerzone.com/surround), the sound stage is much wider, the sound is much richer and better. .. And yes, I dismantled the Tiamat 7.1 cup before selling it for interest - nevertheless, the Razer hacks give away cheap build quality and soldering to the Chinese on close examination ...

Problem solved

Advantages: With a good sound card and small settings, the sound becomes chic, music, video and games ... Completely delighted! And real 7.1 and sound normalization (setting up a sound card) at first make you turn to the rustles behind your back, and only with time you get used to the fact that these rustles are from the game =) It is also equipped with an excellent microphone, but there is a techno feature with it, more about it below... : In order to make the microphone work without interference and buzzing, I had to put a euro socket with grounding, buy a normal surge protector and a usb hub for a separate power connection on the headphones. And only after that the interference went away. Also, the headphones are quite hard, but this is only the first time, then you get used to it. Comment: The ear pads are removable, which makes cleaning the headphones much easier. The retractable microphone also adds convenience, plus a remote for sound control and the ability to connect speakers without disconnecting the headphones.

Problem solved

Pluses: + 7.1 sound is really there. Not virtual. Sounds great in movies and games 10/10 + Control panel (remote) - good but no more. The bottom is rubberized around the perimeter. + Cable in a good sheath. + Good sound isolation, soft ear pads (or whatever the word is spelled :)) + Beautiful packaging (~20% of the cost of the ears went to it !!) Oddly enough, the pluses end there. Disadvantages: - Terrible workmanship (the cheapest materials!). EVERYTHING everywhere is plastic (construction) - the feeling that it will fall apart soon with long use - and this despite the promoted Maximum comfort, maximum durability - Ear pads create a suction effect on the ears - as if sucked into themselves - terribly uncomfortable + headphones are heavy - after 2-3 hours your ears start to hurt (if you have big ears like mine) and sweat (everyone does)! - The quality of music playback in 2.0 mode is disgusting! I don't understand why they made this feature? (Although I understand - for show-off) - Microphone - the quality is disgusting. By default, it is terribly quiet, if you turn it on in the sound settings Mic Boost (microphone gain) - it becomes very sensitive. Again, EVERYTHING is plastic. When you pull it out several times until it stops, the place from where it "comes out and the earpiece" loosens up and it starts to hang out. I am sure that over time the situation will become even worse + in the place where the bending part of the microphone is read, it hangs! Pffff -When switching (bass, microphone, etc.), it feels like there is a cheap toggle switch (there is no feeling of switching (clicking)). Therefore, it is very easy to miss what you switch if you do not look closely, but there is no backlight! Why? The coating is made of glossy plastic - prints are visible disgustingly, it gets dirty very quickly. Terrible! - The last but I think the most important point is that the buzzing in the headphones is constant (whoever was near the transformer or under the power wires will easily understand what I mean). Now imagine that it is in your ears! Constantly, and do not expect silence. This is corrected by an adapter from actousb, in other words, by purchasing an additional one or a pilot with usb slots, or charging for usb and so on - but why should I fool around with this at such a price for headphones ?! - Also, if your system unit is NOT grounded - get ready that this will be heard by everyone with whom you will speak on the "microphone". The problem is also solvable, but I will not write how I will here. Comment: I used it for 6 days - then I returned it back and got my money. I also specially bought an audio card for these ears (on the razer website in the recommended list) - I returned it as unnecessary. I waited for these ears for 6 months - I made a pre-order 3 months before they appeared - as a result, a complete disappointment. For what they are asking for such money - it is not clear - they have a red price of ~ 4000r 4 points out of 10.
