Mitrofanov Alexey

Experience of use: several years.

Advantages: Lightweight, compact.

Disadvantages: Obscenely short power cord. There is no voltmeter (a caveat follows here: it’s better to not have it at all than its imitation - with a constantly displayed value "220 V", as for the feeble-minded. The power of 1000 VA declared on the Yandex market is erroneous. This is the model number. In the original instructions active power is indicated as maximum 320 W. With the usual cos f = 0.7: 320/0.7 = 457 VA, we take the nearest - 500 VA. Not 1000!

Comments: The output voltage range fully complies with GOST: 220 V +/- 10%. This means that the device will not give any "improvement" of the voltage. But if there are deviations up or down, he does an excellent job. I checked with LATR: it turns off exactly as stated by the manufacturer 175 and 285 (!) V. Better suited for high voltage. Stabilization starts working after 240 V - the relay clicks and the voltage drops (dramatically! It is unlikely that frequent such drops are useful) to 211 V. At 262 => 230, at 274 => 240V. In general, I liked it.

Absolutely silent, has been working for more than three years and I don’t even bother that something can happen, inspires great confidence, compact in relation to the fact that this is not just a filter but a Stabilizer, I looked at the price on the Internet so it has only risen in price since the purchase, weighty means not dummy, I think assembled from decent components.

The presence of 2 sockets, wires and a switch :)

I would like more connected devices, but there are only two output sockets, however, I consider this a minor minus (even I would say a design feature), it happens when there is a power surge at night, making a characteristic click, but I have become accustomed to this for more than three years, so which is a big minus and no!

Weak (about 300 V-A), only 3 steps - 1 down, 2 - up, at 173 V it goes into protection, although the output is 203 V, i.e. too early. No overload protection, no voltmeter(s). Well, in fact it is not a stabilizer.

Deception of gullible buyers in the store, in the name 1000. Wow 1000 W, but there is only 320. The relay clicks loudly when switching to stabilization mode, moreover, this happens often if the voltage jumps from 233 to 239, reminiscent of the chirping of an annoying grasshopper. In this case, the following happens: at input 239 at output 210 at input 233 at output 233 stabilization is turned off, I think that household appliances do not like such jumps.

I bought it hoping for stabilization of 220 + 10%, that is, for example, 199-200, and in theory it should raise by 10% to about 220V. In reality, he doesn’t care, the voltage in the network walks from 180 to 218, usually 195 - this stabilizer does not stabilize anything at all at these levels - ZERO! after this lousy stabilizer, a CyberPower CP1500EAVRLCD is connected to the computer, so it instantly reacts and starts to stabilize from 200V, increasing to a normal level and showing the input voltage that comes from this so-called "stabilizer" for 2500r ....

This Russian brand stabilizer is produced in foreign countries. The stabilizer is designed to protect household appliances. The model comes in a cardboard box. The kit includes a warranty card and instruction manual.

The case of the device is made of black plastic. There are cooling grilles at the bottom and at the top. The top panel of the Defender AVR Initial 1000 stabilizer has two sockets with earth connection, while the Initial 2000 has 4 sockets. There are also 3 indicators that indicate:

    • Green - network.
    • Red is protection.
    • Yellow - stabilization.

There is a power switch on the front of the device. It is necessary to note the overall dimensions of the devices. The smaller device has a compact size, made in the form of a small case that can easily fit on a bedside table near. Its older brother, the Initial 2000 stabilizer, has noticeably large dimensions and power. For him, you need to allocate a separate place in the room.

    Technical specifications:

    • The maximum current is 10 amperes.
    • The highest output power is 320 watts.
    • Input voltage - 175 - 285 volts.
    • Output voltage - 198 - 242 V.
    • The highest dissipation energy is 180 J.
    • Number of sockets - 2 with grounding.
    • Case color - black.
    • Wire length - 0.6 m.
    • Dimensions - 140 x 115 x 110 mm.
    • Weight - 1.38 kg.

    Functionality:

    • Over and under voltage protection.
    • Protection against overloads and short circuit.
    • Protection against overheating of the device transformer.
    • impulse protection.

    Operating modes

To connect the device to work, insert the cord plug into the household power outlet and turn the mains switch to the on position. The Network LED on the front panel is lit.

The device has three operating modes, which are indicated by LED indicators:

    1. Normal mode (green).
    2. Stabilization mode (yellow indicator). Lights up if the voltage is too high or too low and is within the acceptable range.
    3. Emergency mode (red indicator). It works if the voltage is out of range, or the transformer is overheated. During this time, the sockets are turned off to prevent malfunctions of the connected devices.

Features of the stabilizer defender avr initial 1000va:

    • Low cost of the device.
    • Enough power to connect two household devices.
    • Good quality device.
    • Fast response time of the device, timely shutdown of connected devices, which saves equipment from malfunctions.
    • No noise (only clicks are heard).
    • No heating of the body of the device.

When choosing such a voltage stabilizer, it is necessary to pay attention to the upper and lower limits of operation, at which the device performs its functions qualitatively. When you go beyond the permissible limits of your power supply, it is better to choose a stabilizer of another brand that has a wider operating interval.

Today's life is hard to imagine without high-tech devices. And each of them somehow has a dependence on the power supply network. From the largest like a refrigerator, to the smallest in the form of smartphones and other gadgets. Well, about a laptop or desktop PC in general, there can be no question. If the laptop is at least protected from surges and surges in the network, and, most likely, the power supply itself will burn out, and not the system itself, then in the case of a desktop PC, the result is likely to be sad.
I think it’s not worth repeating a physics course and talking about possible troubles that may arise in power networks. Ideal household networks practically do not exist, and in the case of Russia, the situation is even more complicated. Any socket and electrical appliance carry a potential danger, and if in the case of a short circuit in the wiring everything depends on objective factors, then in terms of the electrical network itself, there can be both rare interruptions and frequent ones, leading to breakdowns of sensitive high-tech equipment. The simplest and most affordable way to avoid this is voltage regulators. This is a relatively affordable method of protection in financial terms, the benefits of using it are obvious. Today we will review the Defender AVR Premium 1000i.

There are two models available in this line - 600i and 1000i, the main difference is the power output. This is the second generation of stabilizers in this line, the body has changed, minor changes have been made, but in general the filling has remained unchanged. The principle of operation is to automatically maintain the voltage level at the optimum level, compensating for an increase or decrease in the mains. In the case of a critical increase, the equipment is smoothly disconnected from the network.

    Availability Defender AVR Premium 1000i

At the time of testing, the cost of Defender AVR Premium 1000i is at the level of 1,270 rubles.

The price is very affordable, these are one of the most affordable voltage stabilizers on the Russian market. The price tag is comparable to the average for high-quality network filters. When choosing a power supply for a PC, I would prefer stabilizers rather than filters. In the case of the latter, it is very easy to get an ordinary extension cord with one fuse inside the case at the output, we were already convinced of this during mass testing of surge protectors with a price tag below 500-800 rubles.

    Options Defender AVR Premium 1000i

The voltage stabilizer comes in a compact package with a picture of the device on the sides of the package and brief specifications.

Actually, in addition to the Defender AVR Premium 1000i itself, there is a warranty card, instructions and a copy of the GOST certificate of conformity. This is enough to get started.

    Appearance Defender AVR Premium 1000i

On the front panel there are three LED indicators with several backlight options depending on the conditions in the incoming and outgoing network.

Each section is signed, these are AVR, Normal, Overload. The company logo on this side is the company logo.

On the back side there is an integrated power cable and a power button.

4 outlets are brought out from above, two in two rows. These are Europlugs.

Outwardly, everything is designed simply and logically. Housing made of gray plastic with a matte finish.

At the bottom there are legs and slots for the removal of warm air.

    Filling Defender AVR Premium 1000i

Inside, everything is organized ergonomically, all the space is used with maximum benefit. All wires are neatly folded inside the case. Under the ventilation grilles there is a transformer in a special compartment with fasteners. The size corresponds to the maximum power.

You can also note the presence of a board with electronic components. There is a large varistor that protects against impulse noise.

In conclusion, I note the presence of three relays with a current of 10A. There are no claims and comments within the framework of my knowledge in this area.

    Everything is done really well.

    Testing Defender AVR Premium 1000i

Testing the voltage stabilizer Defender AVR Premium 1000i goes beyond the usual test sets adopted in our Laboratory. Unfortunately, the class of such devices itself is quite rare guests on tests, so there is nothing to compare with yet, I will compare the obtained data with the optimal ones in this segment. Looking ahead, I liked the tests themselves, and in the future I will try to consider other models from this manufacturer, as well as competitive solutions.

Let's get started, first let's check how the declared characteristics correspond to the real ones. To do this, we create artificial changes in the input voltage and measurements both at the input and at the output. I use a device with a display of results, such data can be considered more accurate than using traditional equipment.

    Defender AVR Premium 1000i copes with its direct task perfectly well. The minimum stable bar is fixed at around 160V, according to this parameter, everything corresponds to the declared within ± 10%. With a further decrease, an automatic shutdown occurs. Table 1 (input/output) (160 - 200, 180 - 224, 190 - 214, 200 - 223, 210 - 215, 220 - 220, 230 - 226, 240 - 234, 250 - 216)

During the switching of the winding, no deviations were recorded. The operation is smooth, no problems were recorded either when raising or lowering the power.

It just so happened, but before the publication of the test, I used this stabilizer every day for 3 months, no problems were recorded. All this time, the test bench of the Laboratory, as well as small household appliances, phone chargers, and a second home PC were connected to the Defender AVR Premium 1000i stabilizer. During problems in the household network, the operation of the stabilizer is accompanied by clicks, the rest of the time it is completely silent.

At the end of the test, it is worth measuring the operating temperature. This is an indirect sign indicating the fault tolerance and durability of the stabilizer itself. During domestic use, the temperature in the hottest part does not exceed 50 degrees, this is a fairly low level.

Results for Defender AVR Premium 1000i

Defender AVR Premium1000i copes with its task perfectly. The budget cost with the declared worthy characteristics, a solid assembly and a wide operating voltage range - that's what I can say about this solution. It is difficult to single out any significant and significant disadvantages, which you can wish for, if only the presence of an LCD display with a display of incoming and outgoing voltage. But is it really necessary for an ordinary user, the big question is, the main thing is that this compact box fulfills its direct duties.

For myself personally, through practical use and field tests, I made an unambiguous choice for myself in favor of using household voltage stabilizers.

Defender AVR Premium 1000i receives an award "Gold..
