Step 1: Download the update

Since we are using an LG TV as an example, we go to the official website of the manufacturer http://www.lg.com/ (in other cases, to the websites of the corresponding manufacturer of your TV). On this site, find the search line, you will need to enter the TV model there and press "Enter".

This is how you find your TV. Next, open the support tab and there will be a button for the software. We click on it.

After that, a list will open with all the firmware available for this TV. Your task is to choose the newest one and download it to your PC. You can determine the novelty of the firmware by the date it was added. The main thing here is that this firmware is newer than the one that is on the TV.
