A comprehensive game interface mod from MeltyMap is known for its original appearance and a large amount of information displayed in the sight. Knowing everything about the enemy and the capabilities of your combat vehicle is useful, but a large number of different interface elements are not always convenient or unusual, or simply not necessary in some cases. If you only need to change the sight interface in art mode, there is a separate mod for the MeltyMap sight in art mode.

Specialized mods for artillery are not so common, so each one deserves special attention, especially if it is a bright and informative blue MeltyMap sight. The mod has the following useful features:

  • Displays the distance and approximate flight time of the projectile from shot to contact with the target. The values ​​of these parameters are displayed at the top left of the aiming point. Projectile flight time is calculated based on the weapon and projectile that is currently being used. Those. For each artillery projectile flight time is calculated individually.
  • At the top right of the aiming point, the blue MeltyMap art sight shows the model of the gun and the type of projectile loaded into it.
  • Next to the gun model there is a gun elevation angle informer. It helps to understand the nature of the projectile’s flight path, which is important for correct lead and selection of the gun pointing point on the tank or near it.
  • Below the elevation angle informer there is an indicator of the expected angle of entry of the projectile into the enemy’s armor. For land mines this is not so important, since they almost always cause damage, but a successful hit on the roof of the rear or turret of a tank can lead to its complete destruction and therefore this opportunity should not be neglected.
  • Below the central aiming point is a reload timer in seconds and an indicator of the number of shells remaining.
  • The flattening has been recolored compared to the standard one and has been supplemented with a MeltyMap flattening in the form of a blue circle.
  • Last, but not least, the function is the display of horizontal aiming angles in the form of a thick translucent line, showing where your self-propelled guns are no longer able to move the sight by moving the gun and there is a need to turn the hull further.

The strategic sight from MeltyMap is installed by copying the gui and scripts folders from the archive into the standard mod folder res_mods\game_version in the World of Tanks root directory.

The well-known Damkolov Sword sight from AleksLee was developed by the author for all three aiming modes - arcade, sniper and strategic (art mode). There are more and less convenient sights for tanks and tank destroyers, but the Sword of Damocles for art mode is perhaps the best sight option.

Despite the widespread belief that artillery is easy to play, in order to shoot effectively, an artillery owner needs to take into account more aiming parameters than is necessary for other types of equipment. In addition, it is important to choose the right shooting position and change it in time, as well as know the tactics and options for the development of events for all maps. In such conditions, the slightest mistake reduces the usefulness of the artillery gun, which is already very dependent on the team, to zero.

The sword of Damocles in art mode shows the maximum information necessary for aiming.

In the center:

  • The circle of the radius of scattering of fragments (splash) around the central marker - small white and green circles in the screenshot
  • Red lead circle when the target is moving in reverse
  • Large green lead circle when target moves forward
  • The level of your tank's remaining hit points as a percentage is at the top, on the green lead circle

Top left:

  • The elevation angle of the gun and the angle of entry of the projectile into the armor at the aiming point (green numbers)
  • Projectile flight time at aiming distance - large bluish-white numbers
  • Distance to target and maximum firing distance - yellow and red numbers to the right of the projectile flight time indicator

At the top right is information about the goal:

  • Name of the combat vehicle
  • Forward speed (green)
  • Reverse speed (red)

Bottom right:

  • Model of your artillery (Sexton 1 in the screenshot)
  • Remaining recharge timer (large red numbers)
  • Recharge time (small blue numbers)
  • The number of shells in the ammunition load (bluish-white numbers to the right of the reload time). The number of shells in the drum is also indicated here, if your artillery has one.

Description

This time we will pay attention to a special type of sights - specially designed modifications for ART-SAU. This type of mod belongs to sight for artillerymen "Arti (ST)" for WOT 1.6.0.7.

Artillery sights stand apart from all sights that are used as modified ones, and artillery fans prefer these modifications, since they mainly play on ART-SAUs. On the one hand, they need a high-quality and detailed art sight, on the other hand, in terms of a sniper sight (for tanks), what is installed by default is enough for them. It is in this case that special ART sights come to the rescue.

Exactly what is needed

It’s worth noting right away that art sights are not always successful - some authors, in the pursuit of originality, try too hard, which ultimately leads to distortions - they either oversaturate the sight with functional innovations, or, in the pursuit of originality, they make the graphic aspect too ornate and complex . It follows that the sight must be made both beautiful and functional, but at the same time it should not be excessively beautiful, that is, there should be exactly as much content as is needed and no more.

Beautiful, moderate and informative

In principle, this set of preferences acts as a litmus test for choosing the optimal art sight, since such a set of rules is fundamental.

From the point of view of the picture, the sight should be clear, with optimally selected colors and contrast, so that too bright colors do not tire, or too dark ones do not make the player sad. All inscriptions and indicators should also be clearly visible, since in battle we don’t always have time to look closely, everything should be clear, simple and understandable.

In terms of information content, a measure must also be observed - there should be plenty of information, but only within reason, so that the player does not get lost in the jungle of information trinkets.

So that you can more clearly understand what criteria you should listen to, let’s list them:

  • Dynamic and digital recharge indicator;
  • HP indicator and fragment scattering circle;
  • Shell counter;
  • Indicators of the distance to the target and the time of approach of one projectile;
  • Nickname/tank type in sight.

In my opinion, these are the most important criteria, that is, with them, the modification of art sights has everything necessary, everything that is more than this, the type of angle at which the gun is currently raised, is just a pleasant addition without which your game will not suffer in any way.

Artillery sight "Arti (ST)"

It’s not without reason that we listed the most important criteria and described what a good art sight needs, and that’s exactly what the “Arti (ST)” artillery sight is, which is why I liked it - it has everything you need, and there are no unnecessary “whistle-stars” which are of no use, and now let’s move on to the debriefing.

Dynamic and digital recharge indicator– these values ​​​​show how much time is needed to reload and how much is left before charging if you fired a shot a little earlier.

HP indicator– an indicator showing how much HP the tank has or has left at the moment, allowing you not to be distracted by the damage panel.

Circle of scattering fragments– an area around the center of the sight that is slightly different in tone helps to understand what the radius of damage from fragments is and to correct the aiming at the desired point.

Ammo counter– like the HP indicator, it duplicates the capabilities of the damage panel, and in this case, the icon panel;

Indicators of distance to target– shows how many meters are left to your opponent, helps you make the right lead, and for those who are too lazy to figure it out in their minds, there is the following indicator: %.

Time of arrival of one projectile– shows how many seconds the projectile will fly to the selected target, which allows you to take a lead (especially effective against slow targets).

Nickname and tank type in sight– I would classify this item as the least useful, but for those who have difficulty determining what kind of tank they see in the art sight mode, it will do. In any case, you can roughly understand what kind of armor this opponent has and what potential damage he can suffer.

Sight for artillerymen "Arti (ST)" for WOT 1.6.0.7– is an example of balance, moderation, coupled with a fairly high degree of clarity, graphic execution and the availability of the necessary tools. So we can classify it as a sight for artillery guns, which will appeal even to those who do not like to use modified sights at all.

Installation

  1. Install fonts;
  2. Place the mods folder in the World of Tanks root folder.

Aiming in World of Tanks is almost the main and most important thing in the game, it’s hardly possible to disagree with this. Try changing your classic gaming sight to another, more modern one and a different color, in our case blue.

Blue information for World of Tanks

Previously, we had already observed changes in sights for ART or other types of equipment, but no one had previously decided to change the color of the information and not touch the interface. Blue color is most noticeable on various backgrounds and areas, in comparison with green. Here are the most optimal options for the appearance of these sights and information. In my opinion and the opinion of the players, you cannot find a better one. The information is famous for its simplicity and will not at all affect the normal operation and aiming of the tank as a whole.

There is an additional reload animation, as well as a penetration indicator that will flash in the form of a bullet.

Breakout indicator

In addition to the sight, an indicator modification will be installed. If you hit and penetrated the opponent’s armor, the bullet tip on the indicator will be colored green; if you slightly touched it, it will be orange; if penetration failed, it will be red.

Although developers regularly integrate various mod-making solutions into the game, many aspects still remain not very convenient. For example, aiming in all aiming modes. Firstly, it is not solid, which sometimes gets in the way, and secondly, the green color often blends in with the surrounding area of ​​the map, and in general it cannot be called particularly beautiful. In addition, it does not have a full-fledged penetration indicator; there is only a marker, by the colors of which you can approximately determine the thickness of the enemy’s defense at a specified point. Changing the mix is ​​not a problem; after downloading this collection, you can choose one of the options to suit your taste. The author of the modpack selected only the best and long-tested works of modmakers. For example, there is the well-known OverCross, which is used by , mixing from Jimbo, as well as the choice of art guides - Sword of Damocles. And this is just the beginning!

In addition to the penetration indicator, some of the information received a text indicator, which, when aimed at a target, shows the message “Thin - 80mm” (example). Now you don’t need to focus on color; if we see the inscription “thin”, we can safely give the order to fire. But be sure to take into account the angle at which the projectile will enter the target, this is a very important point.
