The All-Russian competition of young readers "Live Classics" is a unique event in its scale to promote reading among children. From February 1 to June 1, 2012, sixth-graders from all over the country read their favorite prose literary texts aloud, trying to reveal their meaning and figurative structure as fully as possible. In 2013, the reading competition became international. In total, in 2013, about 2.5 million teenagers from 83 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as Russian-speaking children from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Poland and Turkey took part in the competition.

Dear curators of the municipal (district) stage!

During the school stage, many schools encountered difficulties with registration and placement of reports. Please follow our instructions for working during the district round.

1. Registration.

If you have already registered on the site last year or earlier, recover your password, please follow the link https://youngreaders.ru/lk.html or open the Personal Account section on the Live Classics website. Enter the login (email) you used to register. Leave the password field blank. You will receive a new password by email. Use the link in the email to enter your personal account.

When filling out the form, you must specify a phone number in the format +7,

In field school you must choose "My school is not on the list."

After registration, you will receive an email. Follow the instructions in the letter. The site will require you to log in - you must enter the code from the SMS message, it will come to your phone number.

2. Post information about the district stage.

Enter your Personal Account, click Profile, check your data, the Profile must be completely filled out (except for the school).

Complete the district stage page (create district stage). Indicate the place, date and time of the stage, your contact details. Save.

3.Tie schools.

Click "Edit district stage". You need to link the schools in your area to your personal account. Find "Manage School Stage Links", click on the box after the instructions, check off your schools, click "Link School Stages".

These schools will appear at the top left, after the venue information. When you click on the school, you will be taken to the page of the school stage, you can see the winners, photos.

If you don't see any schools and can't link them to your area, it means they either didn't register, didn't post a report, or they're having technical difficulties.

We ask you to admit all the winners of the school stage to the district stage, regardless of whether they have registered or not. Right now it is not technically possible to add all schools and all winners of school stages so that you can see them in your personal account. These works will be carried out all the time, but by the end of the regional stages, we may not have time to find and bring everyone.

4. Post a report on the conduct of the district stage.

After the stage, you need to mark three winners, indicate works and authors, upload photos.

We ask you to hold a competition. If at the end of the competition there are unregistered children among the 3 winners, please let us know. We need the following information - contacts of the school curator, last name, first name of the child, school number. We will add them to the site so that your report is complete.

In the subject of the letter, please indicate - REGIONAL STAGE, I CAN NOT MARK THE WINNER.

The All-Russian competition of young readers "Live Classics" is a competitive event for reading aloud excerpts from prose works of Russian and foreign writers, the history of which begins in 2011. As part of the competition, participants are invited to read aloud in Russian a fragment from their chosen prose work. Children in grades 5-11 of general and additional education institutions no older than 17 years old (inclusive) at the time of the qualifying rounds of the All-Russian final of the competition can participate in the Living Classics 2019 competition.

  • increasing interest in reading among schoolchildren;
  • formation of the habit of reading;
  • development of emotional intelligence, reading taste, expressive reading skills based on a deep understanding of the text;
  • identification and support of gifted children.

A prerequisite for participation in the competition is the registration of participants and those responsible for holding the school stages on the official website of the competition.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed the opinion that the Living Classics project makes a great contribution to the popularization of reading among children and teenagers.

When will it be held in 2019?

Regulations on the Competition states that participation in the competition of readers is free. Collection of organizational and other fees from the participants is unacceptable.

The competition is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

Competition events

Events that can be held within the framework of the competition:

  • holding thematic events for schoolchildren, parents and teachers in urban areas:
  • meetings with writers
  • lectures on children's and adolescent literature,
  • reviews of works recommended for reading by schoolchildren;
  • expressive reading of excerpts from the texts of fiction directly at the very stage of the competition.

The main prize for the winners of the competition is a trip to the Artek children's camp.

How to participate in the competition?

In order to participate in the event, you need to fulfill a number of requirements:

  1. Register on the official website.
  2. Learn a favorite passage from the text of a work of art.
  3. Record your reading on video.
  4. Upload your video to your personal account or wait for the class stage.

How is the competition going?

  • The contestants recite episodes from their favorite works of art.
  • These should be excerpts from the prose works of Russian or foreign authors of the 18th-21st centuries.
  • Participants of the event must read the text by heart.
  • Assistance from others during the performance is not allowed.
  • Performance time is 2-5 minutes.
  • The participant can use musical accompaniment, decoration or costume elements during the performance. But all this does not give an advantage over other participants and does not add points.

Criteria for evaluating performances

  1. Choice of the text of the work:
  • 7 points - if the work is included in the list of frequently performed works;
  • 10 points - the work is rarely performed and is not included in the list.
  1. The ability to have an aesthetic, intellectual and emotional impact on listeners:
  • from 0 to 5 points - the reader told the story in such a way that the jury member understood it - it is evaluated on a scale.
  • from 0 to 5 points - the reader managed to emotionally engage the listener: make them think, laugh, empathize.
  1. Grammatically correct speech.
    0 to 5 points - no errors in the placement of stress and pronunciation of words.
  2. Diction, arrangement of logical stresses, pauses.
    0 to 5 points - expressiveness of diction, clear pronunciation of sounds in accordance with the phonetic norms of the language.

The maximum number of points for all evaluation criteria is 30 points.

The results of the competition can be sent to the educational institution of the participant and posted in the personal account on the official website of the competition.

"Living Classics" is an international competition for young readers, established by the Non-Commercial Foundation of the same name in 2011 as a project aimed at increasing the popularity of literature among young readers. Over the years, the jury members included well-known artists, TV presenters, actors and writers, and the winners were awarded with educational trips to other countries, certificates for children's international camps, valuable gifts, and training in theatrical skills. Registration and login to your personal account

To register a personal account, you must select the appropriate menu item on the left side of the main page of the site. Next, you should indicate which particular participant is registered: an adult, a curator or a student. Registration forms for them will be different.

For the actual future participants of the competition, you will need to fill out a form containing only your full name, email address and the desired password. After that, the entrance to the Live Classics personal account becomes available. However, to fill out an application for participation in the competition, you must fill out a separate form and send it by clicking the button in your personal account "Take part in ...".

You can recover your account password directly on the site using the corresponding button on the Live Classics personal account login page. Next, in the field that appears, enter the email address specified during registration of the account. Detailed instructions for recovering credentials will be sent to it. Acting according to the instructions, you should reset the old one and create a new login password.

Due to the huge number of people wishing to take part in the competition this year and due to the huge number of questions about the site, the organizers of the competition extend registration until February 15, 2016!

Now you can see which schools in your area are registered and which are falling behind! To do this, click on the year 2016 on the main page (http://www.youngreaders.ru/offline/278/index.phtml) and select the region you need, divided into districts and schools. All registered schools will be listed. Schools not on the list need to be reminded of URGENT registration.

If the school is not on the site:

1. You need to register.

Within 3 days from the date of sending the letter, a technical specialist will add your school to the list, and you will be able to indicate your educational institution in your profile (Section "Edit Profile").
