Ebony blade skyrim pumping. TES V SKYRIM Mephala's Ebony Blade

The fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series opens the northern world of the province of Skyrim to the player. The storyline of the game is connected with the danger threatening the world from dragons who wanted to destroy people. The main character is a Dragonborn, so it is he who can avert this danger and restore peace to the world. But, as in the rest of the games in the series, the gamer is given complete freedom - he can go through the storyline, just explore different locations or complete optional quests.

What is an ebony blade?

This weapon is an artifact, and Daedric. Mephala, who is a Daedric princess, created this blade, infusing it with special charms. At the very beginning, the blade itself is very weak, but then it is possible to simply upgrade this weapon.

Some call this sword "Leech" or "Vampire" because of the ability to absorb the life energy of the enemy and transfer this energy to the owner of the blade. In fact, the weapon is two-handed, but still in the Skyrim game, the ebony blade is used as a one-handed sword. Some consider it a bug, others consider it a fun fact.

How to get an ebony blade?

In order to master this sword, you will need:

  • develop a character up to level 20;
  • visit the sanctuary of Mephala;
  • please her with an offering - a nightshade (purple flower).

In a tavern (located in Whiterun) called the Prancing Mare, the player learns rumors that something bad has happened to the Jarl's children. Then you should go to the Jarl himself and find out the true state of affairs. After that, it becomes known that the cause of all the problems and unusual behavior of the Jarl's son is the Whispering Door (the quest is called "The Whispering Door"). This door is in the basement of Dragon's Reach. It turns out that the hero needs to unlock this door, but there is no key.

In order to get the desired key, there are three options:

  • kill the court magician;
  • steal the key from the magician;
  • steal the key from Jarl.

There will be a room outside the door where the treasured blade and a book will be waiting on the hero’s table, telling that in the world of Skyrim an ebony blade is a very dangerous and dark weapon - innocent people are killed with it. However, due to the fact that the player is free, even when picking up this weapon, they are not required to transform into an assassin, and can use the blade at will.

How to revive an ebony blade

For those who still want to unleash the full power of the ebony blade and continue the "relationship" with Mephala, you will need to kill 10 victims. In the course of “charging” the blade, the Daedra princess will be warmer and warmer towards the hero, and in the end, she will almost fall in love with him.

You also need to understand that increasing the strength of the blade is not always possible. Even characters who are a friend, confidant, or lover to the player (the numerical value is 1, 2, and 4) are not always suitable for weapons. You can check the character's attitude in the console using the player.getrelationshiprank command. And you can find out how strong the blade is at the moment using the sqv da08ebonybladetracking command, there will be a numerical value for the FriendsKilled_var variable.

Remember the book in the basement of Dragon's Reach? "Fear this blade!" - she said, and in fact - next to the table lay an ugly and very ambiguous in terms of use Ebony Blade, a gift from the Daedra Mephala. In order for the sword to gain full strength, ten friends had to be killed.
The author did not agree to kill friends, even game ones, so this mod was born, which allows you to reforge EC into other blades with different effects.

To work with EC, it is not enough to have the status of a blacksmith-wizard. Mephala is a vengeful entity, so get divine support first. Pray on the altar of Zenithar, and after that in the smelter you can melt her blade into an ebony blank (if you managed to sell or lose Mephala's sword, here is its ID: 0004A38F).
As long as you are under Zenithar's blessing, you can immediately forge a simple Ebony Blade from this blank, without any enchantments. To forge other swords from a blank, offer prayers to other gods of the Skyrim pantheon, and go to any anvil (section Ebony). The appearance of the blade will not change, but the effects will be different.

Below is a list of bonuses that different deities will give:

  • Zenithar- forging a simple EC without enchantment, and the condition for smelting a billet;
  • Akatosh- fire damage on impact, and set fire to enemies when blocking - at a distance of five steps around, even through walls and from around a corner :) ;
  • Arkay- pumping life and magic;
  • Dibella- blow is not perceived as aggression;
  • Julianos- Spell Breaker Shield by 75% when blocking;
  • Kynareth- capture of souls and additional damage to the beast;
  • Mara- incorporeality when blocking;
  • Stendarr- additional damage to undead and expulsion of summoned creatures up to level 75;
  • Talos- additional damage to elves and stunning;
  • Nocturnal- she does not belong to the pantheon of gods, but in her favor she will allow the Nightingale to forge a pair of short swords that have the speed of daggers and paralyze the enemy.

Any forged blade can be smelted back into a blank by praying to Zenithar beforehand. If you need Mephala's old EC - with Zenithar's blessing, go to the Skyforge.

All weapons have Daedric damage. Blades cannot be knocked out of Dovahkiin's hands with disarming Shouts or tricks. The charge is not consumed, and enchantments cannot be removed. Only a simple EC is available for self-enchantment. You can forge one- or two-handed swords. Dual Sheath Redux supported.

Installation and removal- standard.
The mod changes the appearance and properties of the vanilla Ebony Blade, so if you have another EC replayer / amplifier installed, choose which one you need.

UPDATE 1.1

Fixed a bug when oncoming NPCs said to Dovahkiin: "You have a dangerous spell on you, don't come closer."
If you suddenly lose some EC effects when updating the mod (for example, setting fire to enemies at a distance from Akatosh's blade), smelt the blade into a blank and vanilla EC, make a "clean" save without the mod, and then connect it again.

Notes:

  1. If you don't understand something, read the description again. If you don't have the sword you need in the crafting list, check for the Sorcerersmith perk, all the ingredients (blank, dragon scales, or leather/scabbard strips), and the blessing.
  2. As always, the author does not insist on his concept, and does not impose it on anyone.

There are many different Daedric artifacts in the world, but a sword called the Ebony Blade can be distinguished from the total number. This artifact is found in all games in the series and has a different appearance, but it always has the same feature - stealing health from the victim, in Skyrim it is presented in the form of a two-handed Akaviri katana. The peculiarity of this Daedric blade is that its potential at the time of acquisition is not fully disclosed, and in order for the blade to gain full power, it is required to kill loved ones, for Dovakin people.

Artifact of Mephala

Mephala's Daedric Artifact is located behind one of the locked, non-pickable doors in the "High Limit" - Whiterun's castle. You can get access to the key to this door and to the artifact itself during the quest - "The Whispering Door".

This quest can be started in the Prancing Mare tavern by asking the local tavern owner about the rumors. After that, you can safely go to the "High Limit" and communicate with the children of Jarl Balgruuf about the oddities of one of his sons. The quest will not be possible to start if the Dovakin's level is less than the twentieth.

On the spot, having found out about the mysterious door from the son of the jarl, on whom Mephala had already had her detrimental influence, we set off in search of her (to the left of the throne room, you need to go down the stairs from the kitchen down to the servants' rooms, there will be blood stains at the desired door). The key that unlocks the "whispering door" is in the hands of the jarl and his court magician, and apart from stealing the key from one of them, it will not be possible to get it. Behind the door is a blade and a diary, which serves as a kind of warning about the insidiousness of this blade. Picking up the blade, Mephala herself will speak to Dovakin and report that the blade is far from its former greatness and that in order to restore its former power and glory, it must be saturated with the blood of betrayal.

Blood of betrayal

The key feature of the blade is the absorption of health, the base rate at the time of acquisition is 10 units per second, but it can be increased to 30. When the blade speaks of “blood of betrayal”, it means the death of Dovakin's friends. The target for saturating the blade will be the characters he helped during his adventures. In order to return the blade to its former power, it is necessary to kill ten close friends for Dovakin, for each pair of those killed, the ability to absorb health from the blade will increase by 4 units, up to the desired 30. After every second kill, Mephala will speak with Dovakin through the blade when it is committed ten murders Mephala will say: "At last my blade has regained its former glory. Now go, child. Continue your secret war against the orders of trust and intimacy." On this improvement of the magical properties of the blade can be considered over.

Victims

You can sacrifice the blade to everyone who becomes Dovahkiin's companion, but this is absolutely not advisable, because you can also find those who will become an enemy after completing third-party quests.

  1. During the quest of the Daedric Prince Namira - "The Taste of Death", three characters will become excellent victims for the blade: Eola, Lisbeth and Benning. They have no trade or plot value, and besides everything else, they are cannibals and can be sacrificed to the blade without remorse.
  2. During the contracts of the Dark Brotherhood from Nazir, Narfi (you need to look for his sister before killing), Baitild (sell ores) and Herne can serve as three victims. If there is a desire to destroy the Dark Brotherhood, then during the quest "Farewell to the Dark Brotherhood" all members of the Brotherhood will become suitable victims for the blade.
  3. In Solitude, one Argonian will ask Dovakin to put out the beacon after the deed is done, you can go to the crash site of the Fastidious Sload and there will be two suitable victims for the blade Jari-Ra Didja - the Arganian petitioner and his sister.
  4. Representative of the Thalmor - Ondolemar, after completing the quest "Search and Arrest"

To fully saturate the blade, you can go for some tricks. Having received a companion at your disposal, you can resurrect and kill him again and again, but so that after killing the resurrected body does not turn into dust, you must also have the “Ritual Stone” talent in your arsenal.

An alternative to this method can be, which performs the same functions, resurrect - will allow you to resurrect anyone killed. However, an important factor here is a secretive murder, because if the victim leads away who killed her, then later she can become aggressive and then the murder will not count.

Improvement

In addition to improving the magical properties of the blade by killing "friends", the blade can also be improved in terms of the combat component. The blade can be upgraded on any grindstone, for this you need a "Sorcerer Smith" and the most common ebony ingot, so the blade can be upgraded to "legendary" quality.

Benefits of Ebony Blade

Ebony Blade's valuable benefits include the fact that it is the fastest two-handed weapon in the game. The blade also does excellent damage to both dragons and ordinary characters, and if we take into account a fully pumped blade, then it can completely make Dovakin almost immortal, constantly replenishing the lost health reserve in battle.

Another advantage is that, along with other enchanted artifacts, the Ebony Blade does not require recharging at all, the magic in it is endless and therefore it can be used for other purposes or sold for ringing septims, for which it will be possible to purchase something useful.

Bugs

But the blade also has an unpleasant feature, whenever it is placed on the weapon racks, it can somehow magically disappear from there and the valuable artifact will be lost forever (of course, if you do not use the console to return it). Also, during the passage of the quest with the Thalmor embassy, the blade will be taken from Dovakin at the entrance, and upon return all its properties will be pumped back to their original state, this can be avoided if the blade is fully pumped before going to the Thalmor embassy.

Ebony Blade(orig. Ebony blade) - sword, two-handed sword, Daedric artifact. Present in several games in the series The Elder Scrolls.

Description

Ebony Blade is a Daedric artifact created by the Daedric Princess Mephala. He is sometimes referred to as "Vampire" or "Leech" due to his special charms. It looks like an Akaviri katana, but its power is truly dark. Whenever the Ebony Blade hits an opponent, some of the damage dealt is transferred to the wielder as raw raw energy. The blade, by its very nature, cannot be "angrier" than the one who uses it, but at some point in its long existence, special enchantments were placed on the sword so that it would not stay with one owner for long. The wizard who cast this spell was trying to save the souls of those who had gotten too carried away with the blade and might have been right.

In The Elder Scrolls: Arena

It is presented in the form of a one-handed blade resembling a katana. It can be found in a random dungeon in Valenwood. Has the following enchantment:

  • Steal Life: Transfer 40 health from the target to the attacker.

In The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

It is presented in the form of a one-handed blade resembling a katana. You can get it as a reward for completing the Daedra Prince Mephala quest. It has the following characteristics:

  • +15 to Long Blades (permanent effect when worn).
  • Vampiric Touch: Drain (1-15+ 1-5/lvl) health from the victim and transfer it to the attacker (on hit).
  • Energy Leech: Drain (1-10+ 5/lvl) stamina from the victim and transfer it to the attacker (on hit).
  • Silence: Silence, success rate (35+ 2/lvl)%, duration (1+ 1/lvl) rounds (per target, when used).

In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Presented as a one-handed blade. It is a reward for completing the Mephala quest. On hit, absorbs 8 health and also applies the Silence effect to enemies, which is useful in battles against mages. The Ebony Blade Enchant allows you to land up to 45 hits without having to recharge.

If you give the Ebony Blade to Martin during the Blood of the Daedra quest, he will say the following phrase: I wonder if Mephala herself knows how many lives this blade has claimed over the years? I'll be glad to rid the world of him for a while».

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Summary article: "Artifacts (Skyrim)".

Description

This blade is a reward for Mephala's The Whispering Door quest. The magical abilities of this rather weak sword at first (health absorption on impact) can be increased from 10 to 30 units. The blade does not need to be recharged with soul gems, but it cannot be upgraded with a grindstone.

Important: to do this, you need to kill certain characters, that is, those who are in favor of the owner of the artifact. This is achieved by providing them with services, trade or handouts. Every second victim increases the power of absorption by 4 units. Ten correct kills will maximize the effect. Mephala herself will inform the hero that the blade has gained full strength. List of characters suitable for saturating the artifact:

Quest characters:

According to the Dark Brotherhood questsNarfi after searching for his sister, Beitild after selling the ore to her, Herne or All members of the Brotherhood (except Babette and Nazir) on the quest "Farewell, Dark Brotherhood".
According to the quests of the Daedric Princes

companion-victim on the quest "The Call of Boethiah"

In side questsJari-Ra and Didja during the quest "Put out the light! ”, Octav San after completing the quest “ For a couple of words”, Fjola on the quest “Find Fjola at the Foggy Outpost”, Odvan after completing the quest “ No one can escape from Cidna”.
ThalmorOndolemar, after completing the Search and Arrest quest.
CannibalsEola on the Taste of Death quest, as well as Lisbeth, if her goods were returned to her, and Benning, if his task was completed.
VampiresHroggar, provided that Dovakin chopped wood for him before he entered Alva's house on the quest " Eternal peace".
Those characters, without which it is quite possible to do:
Carlotta Valentia after her assignment (or the Golden Claw quest), Lucan Valery after the Golden Claw quest, many farmers and sawmill workers, drunkards, because their location is achieved only with one bottle with almost any alcohol inside, and they do not represent further benefit . Innkeepers often give tasks, so it's best not to touch them before completing these tasks. However, they are then useless. A few examples:

Eydis after the quest The Ghost of Old Hroldan. Pavon Attius and his assistant in the Kolskeggr mine after the quest to clean it up.

To charge a weapon, it is enough to use only one friendly character, but multiple resurrection of the dead will be required. The most effective way is to use the talent of the Ritual Stone, which allows you to resurrect the victim an unlimited number of times without turning the corpse into ashes.

Note: the console command resurrect can be an alternative way. It is important that the victim does not see who is killing her, otherwise after the resurrection she may become aggressive.

Bugs

  • Although the Ebony Blade is listed as a two-handed weapon in the game and requires two hands to use, its damage is affected by one-handed abilities, including increased damage and critical strike chance. The Blade's damage is also affected by an enchantment and an alchemy effect that increases the One-Handed Weapon skill. However, the Stealth skill's Backstab ability does not apply to him, and using a weapon in stealth mode will only deal 2x damage.
    • Solution: fixed in official patch version 1.9.32.0.8.
  • Don't put your sword on the weapon rack! It is extremely likely that it will disappear.
  • When using the blade together with Ebony Mail, a bug occurs, which consists in the following: if the character switched to stealth mode before unsheathing the blade, then it is not covered with a black veil. If you first get it, and then enter stealth mode, then the bug will not work. This was not observed with other types of weapons. Most likely, this is due to the peculiarity of the Ebony Blade to drain the victim's health and transfer it to the owner. During combat, Ebony Mail was seen to change color from black to red when struck by the Blade. Ebony Mail also changes color when the wearer takes damage from the Frostbite spell from the Destruction magic school.

Notes

  • There is also a second variant of the sword (ID 000EA29C) whose attacks are ignored by the victim. To get it, you need to use the console command coc qasmoke , which moves the character to the test room, or simply add the blade to the inventory with the command: player.additem 000EA29C 1 . However, this version of Klink does not absorb health.
  • The blade can be upgraded at the grindstone after installing the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.
  • In Unofficial Skyrim Patch 4.0.8 Special Edition and above, it cannot be upgraded with a grindstone.
  • To get the maximum level of sword enhancement, you can use only one victim without using console commands. You can use the Dead Thrall spell (possibly works with the Ritual Stone). The point is that after resurrecting characters through a spell, they can be killed again and, importantly, when they are killed, the corpse does not turn into a handful of ashes, which allows you to resurrect one character the required number of times for maximum charge.

In The Elder Scrolls Online

The Ebony Blade is not a playable weapon in this game. The blade appears in the Crypt of Hearts, in the Crypt of Hearts II variation, before the fight with the last boss of this dungeon - Nerien "it. This Altmer mage was the founder of the school of magic, but went crazy under the influence of the Ebony Blade. The hero must touch the Ebony Blade, to challenge Nerien "eta to battle. After defeating him, the Blade remains stuck in the stone floor, and the words of Nerien's wife "this Alanvi, addressed to Mephale, suggest that the magician who cast a spell on the Blade, because of which he would not remain long with one owner, was precisely she.

The universe of The Elder Srcolls games is replete with all sorts of otherworldly mystical entities, both positive and negative. Somewhere they interfere invisibly, somewhere openly, and in some cases their intervention is so insignificant that if the protagonist undertakes to complete a random side quest, he would never know what he can come to and what reward he will receive.

One of these entities are the Daedric Princes, they are often credited with divine origin. The hero meets them on his way, traveling through the world of the Skyrim game. The Ebony Blade is one of the unusual rewards waiting for its owner.

City Rumors

You must be level 20 or higher to receive the quest. This is the Dragon in the Sky quest, which consists in killing the dragon Mirmulnir (the first dragon kill in the game) at the Western Watchtower, which is located near Whiterun. The quest giver is the innkeeper Hulda in the Whiterun tavern "Prancing Mare". She will not answer the question of how to get an ebony blade, but will tell about the city rumors that go around the person of Jarl Balgruuf, who sits in the Dragon's Limit (Jarl's castle in Whiterun). They say that one of the Jarl's sons is excessively cruel, the other two have an evil eye, and it is recommended to stay away from them. Dovakin needs to talk to the jarl about his sons.

It should be noted that it does not matter at what time the quest will be received: before the siege of Whiterun by detachments of the Storm brothers or after. In the first case, the jarl will be in his place - on the throne in Dragon's Reach - and will tell about the quick-tempered and negligent behavior of his son Nelkir, asking to talk to the boy as far as possible.

If the city is already captured by the Stormcloaks, it can be found in the dungeons of the Blue Palace in the city of Solitude. However, the Jarl's children will still remain in Whiterun.

Balgruuf's children

Undertaking to investigate the causes of the defiant behavior of the youth of Dragon's Reach, Dovahkiin should know that Balgruuf has three children: daughter Dagny and sons Frotar and Nelkir. Frotar seems to be the most sensible of all. The boy will gladly tell that he is learning to hold a sword, but his father constantly dissuades the boy from this undertaking, referring to his small age. Frotar also tends to reproach his sister Dagny for being overly spoiled.

The oddities of the jarl's daughter come down to constant reproaches against the Dragon's Reach, as well as specific culinary preferences in the form of meat with blood.

Nelkir behaves defiantly: he is constantly rude, rude. And at the mention of Balgruuf, he will not speak very flatteringly about him, mentioning that the jarl hates the Thalmor, continues to worship Talos, and also makes it clear about his own indignation due to some family troubles.

Further developments will make the protagonist understand that the boy is under the influence of a mysterious demonic entity that has established mental contact with him and is gradually changing the boy for the worse.

Whisperer in the dark

Her name is Mephala, a Daedric princess. And she whispers from behind a door littered with hay in the basement of Dragon's Reach. From a conversation with the Daedra, it becomes clear that something valuable lies behind the door. Either the jarl himself or the court magician Farengar Secret Fire have the key to the door, as the boy informs Dovakin.

The key can either be stolen or taken from a dead body. But it should be borne in mind that the jarl cannot be killed. Unlocking the door in the basement, Dovakin finds a blade (katana) on the table and the book "Beware of the Blade", which speaks of the destructive effect of such.

One has only to take Mephala's ebony blade in hand, the Daedra herself will speak to the hero. She will tell you how to strengthen the weapon, because the magical properties have long been lost. However, the restoration of those will be very expensive, Mephala wants the hero to kill characters who treat him well: satellites, merchants with whom relations are established, close people that Dovakin acquired in the vast province of Skyrim. The ebony blade gains the ability to absorb enemy health, earning it the name "Leech" or "Vampire".

Secrets on the way to Skyrim

The ebony blade, upon reaching the maximum level of pumping, will notify Dovahkiin about this in the voice of Mephala herself.

If you turn to the resources of the game itself, you can find a mention that the quest could be expanded. According to the script, the children were to completely fall under the influence of Mephala and kill their father. After the death of the jarl, his brother Hrongar was to take the throne. But the jarl is one of the key characters, and his death would break a lot of quest chains. The quest has been changed due to the complexity of the technical implementation of the original idea of the developers.

If you delve into the study of this issue, you can find a number of console commands on the Internet that allow you to run this script. But first, a patch must be installed that removes the “mark of immortality” from Jarl Balgruuf, since the key characters of the game cannot die due to the prescribed system code.

Some unofficial patches correct the flaws in the storyline. In particular, during the capture of Whiterun by detachments of the Storm brothers, the children of Jarl Balgruuf do not remain in the Dragon's Reach, but leave for Solitude with him.

Cheats for getting items in Skyrim

The ebony blade can be obtained without having a conversation with the boy. There are script commands that allow you to get any item from the game. It is enough to know the necessary script commands and item ids.

But this method is not to everyone's liking, because then the game loses all meaning. With the help of cheat codes, the player can fill his inventory with the best samples of weapons or armor and anything else (everything that meets on the way has an item id), pump skills to the maximum and run through the expanses of Skyrim without experiencing any difficulties in combat with a random enemy. You will also have to forget about the impressions of fights with dragons at a high level of difficulty.

In view of the foregoing, cheats are usually used by players who have already traveled "Skyrim" far and wide, pursuing the desire to relax a bit with their favorite game and cuff some dragon without devoting a lot of time to the game.
