With each Android update on Google more and more work on the protection of user data. With the arrival of Android 5.1, a new data protection method has been available - Factory Reset Protection. As a measure of control over unauthorized intervention and software modification, this protection tool uses a registered Google Account on the device. This method of checking the Google account is implemented to prevent unauthorized reset to factory settings and modifying without the knowledge of the device owner. This aspect is important. If the device was lost, stolen, stitched or discharged to the factory settings. The meaning of the FRP protection is to prevent an attacker access to the system, namely block the phone until the user confirms the right to hold the device with a password and ID. FRP can be considered an alternative iCLOUD Activation Lock in iOS.

What exactly does not help if your device is blocked using FRP:

Firmware of the modified recovery (if OEM unlock is permitted, fraudsters can enjoy information)
Change of software and firmware
The firmware of the modified software with the cut-out services of Google (again, if OEM is not turned off)
Wipe Data / Factory Reset - Reset to factory settings from Android Recovery will launch FRP protection

On the Internet, you can find several ways to bypass the device lock, but in Google, too, do not fools work and approximately every month release security update in which the "holes" are closed, with the help of which FRP bypass took place. At the moment I found a working way to get around protection, but on different devices it is done a little differently. I will describe how I did on Samsung Galaxy S7, this method is suitable for other Samsung devices.

First, go to the link, download and install the REALTERM 2.0 program. After installed RealTerm, turn on your smartphone and connect it to a computer using a USB cable. Your smartphone will be defined as a modem. Now you should run the REALTERM program. On the Display tab, we set a tick on the Half Duplex options.

After that, your device will make a call to the number 1234. You must quickly click on the reset and then click on the Add Add to Contacts button. Then we go to the bottom and click "scan a business card." After that, we will go to the Galaxy Apps store, in which you click on the search and swing the ES File Explorer.

Open ES File Explorer and go to "Bookmarks", then click Add. In the "Path" field:

In the process of activation, we enter a login and password from Google account, which was introduced in the previous step. After all these procedures, your smartphone "whips" the account you entered as correct and will be included.

It can be concluded that Factory Reset Protection is not a very reliable protection method with stealing or loss of the device. Its main competitor ICloud Activation Lock from Apple appeared three years ago, and the attackers could not create a simple and fully working way to bypass the system. So Google's defense still has where to grow.
