Overview of secure smartphones. Shockproof and waterproof phones

When dealing with a niche product, you can usually be sure of its manufacturer. Simply because a niche is a very limited segment of the market where highly specialized products are produced, designed for consumers who usually have a good idea of what they want and why. In smartphones and mobile phones, waterproof and shockproof models can definitely be attributed to such a niche. And in this field, more than others at the time of mid-2014, the Russian company Senseit was able to succeed.

However, other mass products have already begun to squeeze it slightly. Suffice it to recall that in 2013, the Sony Xperia Z, a waterproof flagship smartphone, appeared. It was followed by a dozen solutions equipped with water protection. And at the beginning of 2014, the protection standard, after which a cheaper one appeared. The main feature of these products lies in the fact that they are all designed for the mass consumer. Dust and moisture protection for them is not placed in the center - this is nothing more than an additional feature.

In the case of Senseit, the situation is just the opposite. She creates devices in which protection against water and even against shocks is put in the first place. And the hardware and software components are secondary. So comparing the same Galaxy S5 or Xperia Z2 / Z3 with any of the Senseit phones is simply wrong - the latter are made for people who lead an active lifestyle. They are protected according to the IP68 standard, which guarantees the possibility of their long-term immersion to a depth of more than a meter, where the device will remain operational. And by the appearance of such a device, it is obvious that it is not scary to drop or drown it. In general, "squishy" does not look.

That's it about such a specialized secure smartphone for 2 SIM-cards, we will tell. This is the new model Senseit R390, a newly launched rugged mobile phone with state-of-the-art features. But let's figure out for whom such a product is best suited.

Design

The appearance of the Senseit R390 is so powerful and brutal. The word "brick" is on the tongue - especially when dealing with the orange version of the coloring. And there is also a green one. However, there is a minimum of orange (and green) - in the black case, small slots-recesses with lighter plastic are made.

If you look from a different point of view, then a sort of military style is clearly traced. One gets the impression that the fragile filling is hidden in powerful armor. On the side faces, it has embossed grips, although the surface of the case is already not slippery, rubberized - the smartphone will not slip out of your hand.

There are a lot of elements on the back cover. First of all, the plate with the Senseit logo in the center of the phone catches the eye, as if fixed with rivets. A pair of metal screws holding the cover looks impressive. On the lid itself, several "pimple" blocks are applied, between which some designations-characteristics of the R390 are made. Three of them speak of all-weather resistance, and one reminds us that we are dealing with an Android smartphone.

Additional solidity of the tube is given by 14 (!) screws with a head for a small hexagon. This is not a dummy at all - the two parts of the body are really fastened with them! However, on the front side, the six of the same “hats”, but already under a Phillips screwdriver, is an ordinary dummy. But in any case, this did not affect the build quality in any way. The Senseit R390 feels like a monolith. Already from one of its views it is immediately clear that there will be no backlash or creaking. And when the device falls into the hand, this is only once again convinced.

But in general, the R390 is not in the best way in the hand. A very large thickness of 18.9 mm affects - the palm is specifically bursting. To securely hold the phone, you have to clasp it with all your fingers - dropping it, especially for a girl, is extremely simple. Moreover, this is strongly facilitated by the weight of 210 grams.

However, we are dealing not only with a dust- and moisture-resistant smartphone, protected according to the IP68 standard, but also with a shock-resistant case. Of course, if you specifically throw it and put it under the wheels of a car, then soon the device will order to live long. But from an accidental, even strong, fall, it is perfectly protected. As you understand, this is largely due to the high-quality plastic case. Yes, yes, there is no metal and glass here - in this case, plastic is more plastic and less damaged.

Connectors and controls

The Senseit R390 lacks any special and unusual controls. But the standard ones are made in a somewhat unusual way.

On the front side, there is a speaker and a front camera lens on top.

From the bottom to control the smartphone there is a trio of touch buttons: Home, Menu and Back.

These buttons are visible without backlighting, but the latter is also available.

On the left side placed the volume buttons.

On the right, there is a power button and a button for taking photos in the camera app. It is worth noting that all four buttons are additionally protected by a rubber cap, but because of it they are pressed very tightly.

At the top is a 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones or a headset, as well as an eyelet for a strap.

At the bottom is a microUSB connector.

It should be noted that all the connectors are closed with very tight plugs, and besides, they are heavily recessed into the case. The connectors themselves have not been changed, but problems may arise with their use - ordinary USB wires and headphones simply cannot reach the contacts inside the ports.

There is only one way out of the situation - to use complete accessories. The microUSB wire from the R390 package has a noticeably elongated connector, and an entire adapter on a short wire is offered for the audio jack.

On the back cover, next to the opening screws, there are slots for the speaker. Quite loud by the way.

The rear camera lens and LED flash are located at the top of the rear panel.

To remove the cover, you will need to use a special screwdriver included in the kit, or an ordinary coin. The cover itself is additionally rubberized along the edge to protect the battery and microcircuits from moisture.

Slots for SIM-cards (full-sized!) and microSD cards go inside the case. To access them, you will have to remove the battery. But if you are having problems with this, or you have not figured out how to open the Senseit R390 cover, we suggest watching our short video on this topic:

In principle, from the point of view of ergonomics, Senseit R390 did not cause any complaints. On the contrary, in our opinion, all the connectors and buttons are optimally located on the side ends of the case. And all the difficulties with their use are caused only by the water resistance and shock resistance of the tube. If you want maximum convenience, then the last two qualities will have to be abandoned.

Contents of delivery

Senseit R390 comes in a small gray and white cardboard box with a picture of the smartphone and some of its features and qualities.

The usual scope of delivery is slightly expanded. From the standard there is a charger, a user manual, a headset and a USB cable. This is all complemented by a small screwdriver in a rubberized housing that can be hung on a string. There is also an adapter for an audio jack with a long connector. Recall that the USB cable is equipped with the same long connector. Case for Senseit R390 most likely will not be required. And really - why protect a secure smartphone? In addition, the already thick tube will become even thicker.

Well, to get a more complete picture of the Senseit R390, we suggest watching its video review:

Screen

I wonder if a secure smartphone needs a good screen? Or not so - should the manufacturer pay maximum attention to the display of a waterproof mobile phone, installing a high-quality high-resolution matrix? Probably still not, because then the price will rise even higher. She's not so low because of the additional "armor". And there is such a moment as the diagonal of the screen. Above we described the bulky dimensions of the Senseit R390. And all this with a 4-inch display! Even the average 5-inch smartphone fits comfortably in the hand. Can you imagine how monstrous a 5-inch shockproof phone would be?

It should be noted that the R390 is not the cheapest screen available. The display has relatively good viewing angles, although it does not reach the quality IPS-matrix. In the sun, the screen fades, and seriously. You have to look for a suitable angle so that you can see the picture and text. The resolution of the display is more than standard for a diagonal of 4 ", namely 800x480, which does not give the highest dot density of 233 ppi. But again - for a secure smartphone, this is the norm and even the level is "above average".

But what really surprised me was the maximum brightness of 573 cd / m 2! We usually manage to measure the brightness of phones at the level of 300-350 cd/m 2 , while for the R390 it is noticeably higher. However, the product from Senseit did not live up to the ideal version - the brightness of the black on the screen turned out to be proportionally high at the level of 1.19 cd/m 2 . This is about 3 times higher than most other smartphones. So black at maximum brightness looks like gray. In total, we got far from the most outstanding contrast ratio of 482: 1.

The color gamut of the R390 screen almost completely covers the sRGB space, which in principle guarantees a decent level of color reproduction. Although it turned out to be decently distorted by the disturbed white balance.

The color temperature of the R390 almost never drops below 10000K, and for white it is generally 11000K. In total, the white screen balance is seriously turned blue - the picture is displayed unnaturally cold.

With gamma curves, too, everything was not perfect. So the light areas of the image are displayed according to the standard, but the dark ones are not displayed as brightly as necessary.

The screen only supports two touches. But at the same time, he can automatically adjust the brightness.

In total, the Senseit R390 screen can be rated below average. The budget option was used to reduce the cost, which is quite justified. Moreover, the manufacturer began to save every penny, choosing from the cheapest displays. The R390's screen isn't the best, but it's not bad either - it's just that the technology has gone ahead in recent years, while the protected devices are lagging behind.

Camera

The presence of a camera in a secure smartphone is quite justified - sometimes you have to shoot something in extreme weather conditions. However, the weather can be good, and the person will be, say, in a boat - dropping the Senseit R390 into the water is not scary. The main thing is to get him out of there. However, the camera in this smartphone is quite mediocre.

The camera app interface is standard from Android 4.2.

Shooting resolution - 5 MP. Say a little? Where do you want more? And the point here is not in megapixels, but in what kind of photosensor is installed in the smartphone. Let's see how he shoots.

And shoots very mediocre. The frames are blurry, with a noticeable violation of the white balance. Noises appear in low light conditions.

The video is captured in 1280x720 resolution. It could have been lower. But, more importantly, the quality of shooting is also not the highest. The problems here are exactly the same as with the photo: there is not enough sharpness, the white balance is off

The front camera has a resolution of 0.3 MP. Quite modestly by today's fashionable "selfie standards". But the Senseit R390 isn't a selfie phone, is it?

From the front camera, the photo comes out even worse. There is no white balance at all, but there is no sharpness at all. Everything looks like the frames were painted with watercolors. The effect is cool, but it's better when it is applied at the request of the owner of the smartphone, and not "by default" without the possibility of "disabling".

There are no surprises with the video either. VGA resolution, poor quality.

In general, we can state that the camera of the Senseit R390 is rather for show. The quality of the shooting is low, there are no additional settings. Nothing strange - the manufacturer simply paid maximum attention to the protected body of the smartphone, and not to the camera and other phone components.

The range of Senseit smartphones for the beginning of autumn 2014 consists of four models. R390 is the newest and most advanced. R413 is a simpler option, with an old version of Android 4.0, a weak 1450 mAh battery and a 4.1-inch screen and an IP67 protection standard. This phone costs only a thousand rubles less than the R390, so there is no point in buying it anymore. R280 - costs almost half as much as R390, but this device is even simpler: IP67, 3.5-inch screen, 1250 mAh battery, Android 4.0. And then there's the Senseit P4, which is even more expensive than the model in question, but is equipped with a weak single-core Qualcomm processor running at only 800 MHz, has a 3.5-inch screen and runs on Android 2.3. What's the catch? In the US military protection standard MIL-STD 810. Its support guarantees even better security compared to IP68. With this, and the war is not scary. And for peacetime, the R390 will do. Let's look at its characteristics.

Senseit R390 has exactly the same filling as the one (not Rev.S). Of course, the match between them is not complete, but the processors there are identical, which guarantees the same level of performance.

In general, today the MediaTek MT6572 chip is a solution for budget smartphones. It includes a pair of Cortex-A7 cores running at 1.3 GHz, although the Senseit website for some reason indicates a frequency of 1.2 GHz. The processor is complemented by the Mali-400MP1 video card, which is also not the most productive solution by modern standards. But the R390 is obviously not bought for games, right?

RAM installed only 512 MB. In our opinion, it was not worth saving on this - after all, the responsiveness of applications suffers. 1 GB today is already the norm even for budget smartphones, albeit not the cheapest available. For example, Highscreen Zera F has exactly that much RAM. However, it has another very serious drawback.

Recall that we scolded Zera F for the inability to use the built-in memory. It is there 4 GB, and it is simply not available to the user. To put it mildly, it is difficult to work with a smartphone without a memory card. But in the case of the Senseit R390, there is no such problem, although there is also 4 GB of internal flash memory. The manufacturer did not give everything for system needs, and therefore the owner of a secure handset will receive 1.2 GB for their own data, including photos from videos.

Another clear advantage of the Senseit R390 is a capacious 2400 mAh battery. With a diagonal of 4 ", this can be considered a high-capacity battery. However, we'll see how effective the smartphone will be in our autonomy testing. Actually, we're just moving on to the test results.

Performance Testing

Of course, in performance testing, we will compare the results of the Senseit R390 with the Highscreen Zera F of the first revision. Although, looking ahead, we note that both devices are almost the same in speed.

A slight advantage in Smartbench 2012 on the R390 side can even be attributed to the measurement error. In terms of comfort, there is not much difference.

The situation is similar in Antutu. The performance is de facto the same. The R390 had a slightly faster flash drive and RAM, and not the processor itself.

And here is a test that depends little on RAM, flash memory and video card. Linpack "drives" one "mathematics". And here there is complete parity.

The SunSpider browser test repeats the result of Linpack - both smartphones are the same.

The graphics turned out to be somewhat ambiguous. So in electopia we see complete parity, but in Nenamark2 and RD 3D R390 is clearly behind. Perhaps, here it is already possible to attribute the loss to a small amount of RAM. 3D games (and tests) are very serious applications, heavily loading the entire system. Although in games, the Senseit smartphone performed well overall, but more on that below, but for now let's see what's going on with autonomy.

In principle, we did not receive any surprises here. As expected, the Senseit R390 has better battery life than the Zera F - the 2400 mAh battery did the trick, leaving the smartphone with 71% charge after passing our test. But there is such a piquant moment as energy optimization. Obviously, it was not done - good (but not a record!) Autonomy was achieved only due to a relatively weak processor, not the largest screen and a capacious battery.

Games on Senseit R390

The main problem with the Senseit R390 when it comes to gaming is not a lack of processor speed. The smartphone has very little memory for large games - 1.2 GB is enough for many, but there are various GTA, N.O.V.A. 3 and the like, which will no longer fit. And we failed to force them to be installed on a flash card. Due to lack of space, the following games we tested refused to work: Asphalt 8, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, N.O.V.A. 3. But we cannot check 100%, so there will be others - you should be prepared for this.

  • Riptide GP2: excellent, the game does not slow down;
  • Asphalt 8:

  • Dead Trigger: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead Trigger 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Real Racing 3: noticeable slowdowns;
  • Need for Speed: Most Wanted: not installed due to lack of space;

  • Shadowgun: Dead Zone: some delays are visible;

  • Frontline Commando: Normandy: noticeable twitches;

  • Frontline Commando 2: noticeable twitches;

  • Eternity Warriors 2: some delays are visible;

  • Eternity Warriors 3: noticeable twitches;

  • Trial Xtreme 3: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Dead effect: some delays are visible;

  • Plants vs Zombies 2: excellent, the game does not slow down;

  • Iron Man 3: excellent, the game does not slow down.

From more games to Senseit R390 work. Of course, if there is enough space for them on the built-in drive. True, they often reduce the color depth to 16 bits, as well as the detail and resolution. Even on a small 4-inch screen, it doesn't look very pretty. The following titles were noticed behind this: Riptide GP2, Dead Trigger 1 and 2, Frontline Commander: Normandy.

But again, we repeat that the R390 is clearly not a smartphone for games. If the need for a good camera and screen can somehow be “pulled”, then games are clearly a secondary function for a secure phone.

BY

With the Senseit software, I didn’t get too smart. The R390 comes with pure Android 4.2 without any shells and with only one (!) additional Mobitracker app. Moreover, its presence only complements the orientation of the smartphone for use in difficult conditions, and does not litter the memory, duplicating existing programs.

A clean desktop from the original Android - what could be better?

Applications, as we said, are only from the standard set of the system, except for one.

But what is missing is a widget with a flashlight - so that you can turn it on from the desktop without calling any applications.

Mobitracker is an application that allows you to determine the location of your smartphone using GPS. It works only if there is an Internet connection - the coordinates of the handset are transmitted through it. The big SOS button on the interface needs to be notified of some kind of threat or something. By clicking on it, the one who follows you through the service website will receive a corresponding signal.

The application settings are quite simple. You can specify the frequency of transmitting coordinates, and at the same time password-protect access to the settings.

On the Mobitreker website, after registration, you can track the phone. The service can store its movements for a certain period. However, this is for money.

Mobitreker's tariffs are not very high, but it is unlikely that everyone needs the service. However, there is also a free option that can be used indefinitely.

Otherwise, the applications on the Senseit R390 are the most standard and there is no need to describe them. It is much more important to note that in general, the smartphone works without failures, the interface switches smoothly.

Conclusion

Senseit R390 is a regular budget smartphone, but packed in a dustproof and waterproof case. The case itself is very strong, well-cut, and at the same time providing the handset with a “military” brutal appearance and protection according to the IP68 standard.

As for the filling, it is at the level of conventional smartphones, which cost about half as much. You have to pay extra for a reinforced case, which, in addition to the price, also adds weight to an impressive 210 grams and provides very massive dimensions. And the thickness of almost 19 mm will be a nightmare for some. Do not forget about tight plugs on the connectors that require adapters or wires with special connectors. But then again - this is all we describe the typical properties of all secure phones. Compared to competing models, they are unlikely to offer much better parameters.

The total is what happens. Senseit R390 as a smartphone is at the entry level. Many applications will work on it, but serious work will not work. This will be prevented by a small screen, a weak processor, a small amount of RAM and built-in memory. On the other hand, it is unlikely that anyone will buy a secure smartphone for active work in Android. And so, the main advantage of the R390 is the combination of its characteristics, workmanship and price.

Senseit R390 price

You can buy Senseit R390 for 8 thousand rubles. For a device with such protection parameters, it is inexpensive. But still, let's take a look at competitive offers.

Texet X-driver TM-4104R not so long ago could be bought for 9 thousand, but now the price has dropped to 8 thousand. It is interesting to know why (the author smiles ironically)? The smartphone has a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 800x480, an old Android 4.0, a weaker Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 dual-core processor operating at 1 GHz. True, there is more RAM - 768 MB. And the camera has more megapixels - as many as 8! The battery is also not weak - 2500 mAh. All of this is housed in an IP68-rated housing that measures 18mm thick and weighs 265 grams! With weight, of course, there is a complete finish here - approximately like the mass of two.

You can buy Ginzzu RS61D ULTIMATE for 11-12 thousand. The price is higher, but the resolution of the 4-inch screen is 480x854. However, this is a trifle. But the 4-core 1.2 GHz processor is somewhat faster. Add here a 2600 mAh battery, an 8 MP camera and a weight of 183 grams. But the thickness is 23 mm - can you even hold it with one hand? Otherwise, the parameters are the same as Senseit R390: Android 4.2, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory.

Caterpillar Cat B15 costs the most - around 14 thousand. In some places, the smartphone is really interesting. For example, it weighs 170 grams, and its thickness is not more than 15 mm. It also has a nice original design. Otherwise, if the appearance is not critical for you and you do not fight for every millimeter or gram, then the Cat B15 looks at least no better than the Senseit R390. He also has 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory. Android 4.1 is older, the battery is more modest - 2000 mAh, the dual-core processor runs at 1 GHz. And the protection standard is only IP67.

Pros:

  • excellent dust and moisture protection according to the IP68 standard;
  • quality assembly;
  • military design;
  • pure Android 4.2 with pre-installed Mobitreker service;
  • affordable price for its characteristics;
  • good autonomy and a capacious 2400 mAh battery;
  • separate button for taking photos;
  • Can be used without a memory card.

Minuses:

  • poor quality cameras
  • large size and weight;
  • only 512 MB of RAM;
  • the need to use adapters and special wires to use connectors;
  • The lid can only be opened with a screwdriver or a coin.

This 2014 turned out to be really rich in excellent secure phones. The leaders of the mobile market have also joined the middle-level manufacturers, thanks to which the competition among reliable and robust devices has increased to the limit. Rugged phones 2014 represent both the budget and affordable segments, as well as the premium class of smartphones.

Rugged phones 2014. Samsung Galaxy S5

Until recently, it was difficult to imagine a truly secure flagship device from the South Korean company Samsung. But times are changing, and manufacturers need to make every effort to meet the needs of users. Therefore, the top-end Samsung Galaxy S5 has become a secure smartphone that has an IP67 certificate. Protection is limited to moisture and dust resistance. At the same time, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has not lost its signature and sophisticated design. As for the technical filling of the Galaxy S5, everything is more than in order here: 5.1-inch (Super AMOLED) display with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution, 16-megapixel ISOCELL camera, 2-megapixel front camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor (quad-core with clocked at 2500 MHz), Android operating system (4.4 KitKat).

Rugged phones 2014. Sony Xperia Z2

Another flagship, but this time from Sony. It is noteworthy that the Xperia Z2 has incorporated all the best from its predecessors. This applies not only to the fantastically beautiful appearance, but also to the remarkable security (IP55 / IP58 standard). The smartphone can withstand shallow immersion, which seems incredible with a glass and fragile body. The technical capabilities of the Sony Xperia Z2 are not worse than those of the South Korean rival: Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core chipset with a nominal frequency of 2300 MHz, 20.7-megapixel camera, 2.2-megapixel front camera, 5.2-inch screen (IPS), Android 4.4.2 platform ( KitKat), 3200 mAh battery.

Protected Phones 2014. Viking Thor

Looking at Viking Thor you immediately understand that you are dealing with a harsh Scandinavian. This phone is reliably protected, because its level of protection just rolls over - IP68. Separately, it is worth highlighting the shockproof degree MIL-810G. The built-in SOS button will also be useful to a certain circle of users. The filling of Viking Thor is good, and only slightly inferior to the market leaders. Inside the smartphone is a MediaTek MT6589T quad-core processor (clocked at 1500 MHz), 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, a 13-megapixel camera with flash, and a 4-inch screen (800 by 480 pixels). Viking Thor operates on the Android 4.2.2 operating system.

Rugged phones 2014. SENSEIT P211

But SENSEIT P211 is one of the cheap phones that are not crammed with a lot of useful and useless features. This phone has a moisture-resistant housing with a degree of protection IP66. There is also a fall sensor and an SOS key. At the same time, SENSEIT P211 has large and clear physical buttons, making the device suitable not only for average users, but also for the elderly. SENSEIT P211 has a minimum of functions, as it is a simple dialer. Here you can find a 2-inch color screen, 0.3-megapixel camera, GPS, FM radio, 1300 mAh battery.

Rugged Phones 2014. Runbo Q5

An excellent choice for travelers and extreme people is the Runbo Q5 phone. The device is very well protected, as evidenced by its appearance. Its functionality is impressive, because Runbo Q5 can even become a real walkie-talkie for a while, for which a separate antenna is provided. A screwdriver is also included with the smartphone (a useful thing in the household). In terms of technical characteristics, the Runbo Q5 largely repeats the Viking Thor. Only Runbo Q5 received the best screen with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels and a 4.5-inch diagonal. We should not forget about the battery, which has a capacity of 4200 mAh. True, as is the case with most Chinese devices, Q5 is often sold defective. Therefore, when buying, you should carefully check the smartphone for performance.

With a waterproof smartphone, we can safely go to the beach or to the pool, it is not afraid of rain and accidental falls in ... you know where. Most modern smartphones that are resistant to moisture no longer resemble an element of army ammunition. They are no less graceful than their "gentle" brothers and sisters. Sales of waterproof smartphones increased in 2013, I think that in 2014 this trend will continue.

Sony has begun actively adding a waterproof feature to its models. Sony Xperia Z1 is one of the most attractive waterproof models released in 2013. But even in the first half of this year, it remains relevant, thanks to the excellent filling and excellent screen.

Traditionally, this sector does not bypass Samsung, its Galaxy S4 Active is a very good option. In addition, the budget model on Android - Motorola Moto G is also categorized as waterproof.

Let's take a closer look at waterproof smartphones that are relevant for 2014.

Sony Xperia Z1

This smartphone boasts not only moisture protection, but also excellent hardware. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The screen diagonal is 5 inches.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Another model from Sony, has a very thin body and a huge screen with a diagonal of 6.4 inches. Here we see a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2.2 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The main camera is 8 MP with autofocus and can record movies in Full HD quality. The resolution of the front camera is 2 megapixels. Battery capacity 3050 mAh.

Sony Xperia ZR

Compared to the previous waterproof smartphone model, this model has slightly more modest characteristics. The diagonal of its screen is 4.6 inches, two cameras have an extension of 0.3 and 13 megapixels, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor operates at a frequency of 1.5 GHz. The memory can be expanded up to 32 GB.

Sony Xperia ZL

Sony Xperia Go

Another representative of waterproof smartphones from Sony. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor and is expandable up to 32GB. Out of the box on this model, an outdated version of Android 2.3 is installed. The screen diagonal is 3.5 inches, and the camera has a 5 megapixel matrix.

HTC Butterfly

In addition to being waterproof, this smartphone features a 5-inch Super LCD 3 display and dual cameras of 8 and 2.1 MP. The memory is expandable up to 32 GB and the heart of the system is Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core (1.5 GHz).

Here we find the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Sony Xperia Acro S
