Over time, the need arises change desktop background on Windows 7... This is not difficult to do, but there are some limitations. The process of changing the desktop image in Windows 7 Starter and Home Basic is different from the one described in this tutorial and is the topic of a separate article.

By Windows default 7 has a number of background images along the way:

C: \ Windows \ Web \ Wallpaper

Here you will see several folders with pictures. In the Windows folder, you will find the familiar standard image(screenshot below).

If you wish, you can expand the selection of desktop wallpapers by creating a folder with your own name. Download files (jpg) from the Microsoft website or a third-party resource, distribute them into groups in the created directories, this will be convenient for changing the background from the "personalization" setting, as well as for creating a slide show.

Note: if you install a downloaded image, be sure to find out its resolution and. If the image resolution is lower, you may notice poor display quality.

The background also changes when you, as well as the external design of the taskbar, the color of the windows, and more.

How to change the desktop background from the context menu of the image and the "personalization" settings

Find the matching picture you want set as desktop background, then right-click on it. In the menu, click the item that you see in the screenshot.

Now look at the desktop and admire the new picture. By such actions, you simply put background image... For full customization it is recommended to go to the setting with the name "personalization".

To open the personalization window, right-click where there are no shortcuts (on an empty space). In the menu, you will see 3 separate items, of which the last one is interesting and, if necessary, the other two:

  1. Screen resolution - in this case, a useful option, by going to which you will find out the pixel ratio of your display and find out whether the background picture is suitable or not.
  2. Gadgets is an off-topic option, but check out the process for a more beautifull desktop experience anyway.
  3. Personalization is an interesting option that allows you to customize and change the desktop background on Windows 7, which will be discussed in more detail below.

Click on the 3 option "personalization". Look down at the very bottom of the window, where you will see a link with the name "desktop background" (located along with links: window color, sounds, splash screen), which you need to click on. Note that under the name of the link, there is a gray text, mainly the name of the current picture or the action "slide show" is written here. V this example it is "home", which is the name of the image.

In the window that opens, you can select the location of the pictures by clicking on the object with the arrow. It offers a choice from a library of images, created folders and other sources, and it is also possible to set a monotone background color.

Next to the object there is a "review" button to indicate the location of the picture. When you make your choice, mark the picture with the checkbox and click "save changes". It looks like this.

At the bottom of the window there is additional options display and slide show settings... For the correct display of the desktop background, in the "image position" option, I recommend leaving the "fill" parameter, but you can also experiment and change the parameters.

To use a slideshow, select from 2 or more pictures, hold CTRL, click on them. Further it will become available this setting, where you can set the time interval for changing images, random display and the option to control the display when the power supply is low.

Note: if there is a need to include all pictures from a selected group, in the upper part of the window, click the "select all" button so as not to select all objects with the mouse. After fine-tuning, click on "save changes" again.

If you have delved into personalization, then read about the process, which will consolidate your knowledge.
