Today, many providers offer satellite TV for a small fee and provide access to viewing a large number of TV programs in different quality. The article will discuss how to connect and watch satellite channels for free.

Television delivery principle

The provider programs the convector in such a way that coded programs are available to the user, however, to continue viewing, you need to pay a fee.

In addition to the delivery of television, the operator's services include customer support and service. But this does not prevent the user from purchasing the necessary equipment on their own and tuning to a specific satellite.

They broadcast two types of programs:
  • Coded.
    Paid content that requires a payment to view. It is unlocked using a CAM module in the receiver, into which the provider's payment card is inserted.
  • Open.
    These programs are not protected by blocking and are available for viewing from any equipment capable of receiving a signal from a satellite. You can watch them for free.

Difference Between Pay TV and Free TV

If we compare the independent TV connection and through the provider,

there are several advantages for the latter option:
  1. Viewing scrambled TV channels,
    which, together with open source software in general, provide more content.
  2. Customer service.
    The operator takes care of all the technical support and operability of the television.
  3. Convenience of viewing.
    The user can independently choose the desired tariff, which is supplied by channel packages.

From this we can conclude that paid viewing is more comfortable and of high quality.

But this does not prevent the user from independently connecting, activating and watching paid content for home TV, and free broadcasting can be used as satellite TV to the country.

What programs are available for viewing

Due to the vast territory and relatively flat terrain on the territory of Russia, signal reception from almost a dozen satellites is available. Through some of them, television is supplied by operators.

Attached below is a table showing active satellites and the number of main programs:

Repeater

Number of available channels

Frequency, MHz

100+ (Russian speaking)
40+

Eutelsat-36A / 36B

12

HotBird 13В / С / E

100+ (Russian speaking)
30+
12

11513 - 11635 (V)

Express-AMZ / 6

14
20

11265 - 12522 (V)

Amos and HotBird are characterized by such inconveniences as broadcasting with a deviation of 2-3 hours. Because of this, the user no longer receives a live broadcast.

This problem concerns only a number of programs, among which there are Russian-language TV channels.

How to connect

To get free satellite TV it is enough to buy equipment for signal reception.

Depending on the format of the television organization, the set may be different:
  • Plate.
    It is always present and is necessary to focus the radiation exactly on the head. When choosing, you need to focus on size. In mountainous areas and highlands, a reflector with a diameter of 0.6 m will be sufficient. For those living in flat areas, a plate with a size of 0.8 - 0.9 meters will be required.
    This is due to the fact that the lower the terrain above sea level, the thicker the atmosphere and the area of radiation scattering increases.
  • Convector.
    The satellite head is used as a receiver and must be accurately pointed at one of the satellites that are far apart.
    In view of this, to receive several signals, the same number of convectors will be required, each of which will be directed in a different direction.
  • Receiver.
    If your TV has a DVB-S2 tuner, you don't have to buy a set-top box for free viewing. Conventional TVs with an RCA connector can also show channels from the satellite, but only in the usual form.
    In this case, it is possible to receive only ATV programs, and such TVs have few physical channels.

After purchase, you will need to install the antenna and connect the equipment. It is better to entrust the installation to a specialist.

You can do the setup connection yourself:
  • the cable from the installed antenna is connected to the receiver;
  • the receiver is connected to the TV using RCA or HDMI cable
    (the latter has a higher bandwidth);
  • the TV turns on the physical channel corresponding to the connector to which the set-top box is connected.

The equipment is ready for use. For greater reliability, you should look at the level of the recorded signal (yellow bar), which should be above 55%.

Channel setup

Searching for programs is quite simple:
  • go to the system settings of the receiver;
  • select a satellite from the list;
  • enter frequency range(from the list)
  • start scanning.

This process must be followed for horizontal and vertical polarization.

If there are several convectors, repeat the operation for each satellite.

Upon completion, all free satellite TV channels will appear.

They will not be placed in a row, because between them there will be free frequencies and encoded programs. You can use channel navigation and sorting to bring them together.

If over time the inscription “No signal” appeared in place of one of the open channels and the level of the recorded radiation is acceptable, the frequency has become free and it should be looked for in another place.

You will need

  • - computer or TV;
  • - satellite receiver for TV or DVB-card;
  • - satellite antenna;
  • - converter;
  • - antenna cable;
  • - tool for locksmith and electrical work;
  • - Internet access.

Instructions

Choose a satellite with a suitable set of free channels. The range of choice is quite wide. In the central part of Russia, you can watch free Russian-language channels from satellites Yamal 201 and 202, Intelsat 15, ABS-1, Intelsat 904, Express-AM2 and others.

In order to view specific information on these and others, type in the search box the name of the satellite with the word LyngSat and click on the appropriate search result bar. You will be taken to the LyngSat.com website page. where in the form of a table all the information on the one you are interested in is shown.

In the column "Provider Name" you will find the name of the TV companies and the channels they broadcast. The "System Encryption" column contains information on channel encryption and signal format. If the letter F is opposite the channel in this column, it means that the channel is not encrypted, and it is allowed. The signal format can be DVB-S or DVB-S2, this information will be required upon purchase.

In the remaining columns, you can find information on signal parameters - its frequency, symbol rate (SR), polarization, FEC. The Beam column contains the name of the transponder beam. Check the coverage map to see if your home is within range.

Use the free Satellite Antenna Alignmen software to determine the exact heading and pitch of your antenna. Install it on your computer and enter the coordinates of the satellite and your home into its forms. In response, the program will display the values of the satellite azimuth and the antenna elevation angle.

Install the antenna in a location where it can easily receive the satellite signal. Point it to the satellite - using the data obtained in the previous step. Attach the converter to the antenna bracket.

Install a DVB card into the slot of your computer and install its software. Connect the card to the converter with an antenna cable. If you are going to watch satellite channels on TV, the antenna cable must be connected to the satellite receiver. Connect the receiver's output to the corresponding jack on the TV.

Use a satellite finder to accurately orient the antenna to the satellite transponder. Usually they are plugged into the connector between the converter and the antenna cable. The exact procedure for working with the device is described in the instructions for it. Based on the satellite finder readings, orient the antenna towards the satellite and fix it in this position.

As a result of this work, a video image from the satellite should appear on the TV screen. To watch TV channels on your computer, you need to install one of the programs for watching satellite TV, in particular, the most popular ProgDvb. After installation, open the program and scan the satellite with it. The program will place the detected channels into its playlist, available for viewing by the user.

In these difficult times, we strive to protect our finances from excessive waste. Therefore, people began to save as much as possible and look for benefits everywhere. Ditching standard cable TV services and switching to less expensive options is a rational way to save money. Every day satellite television is gaining immense popularity among Russian users. Ease of channel tuning, high-quality picture and sound - all this will captivate subscribers. Separately, it is worth noting the power of the signal coverage, which allows you to watch TV programs in digital quality even in remote regions of the country.

Satellite signals are sent both open and closed - coded channels. Satellite TV without a monthly fee - these are free publicly available channels. Access cards are not required to view them.

Many different satellites broadcast to the territory of Russia, which have both encoded and open channels:

ABS 1/2 ("Rainbow")

Eutelsat-36A / 36B ("Tricolor TV", "NTV-Plus")

Hot Bird 13В / С / D

Intelstal 15 / Horizons 2 ("Continent TV and Telekarta")

Intelstal 904 ("Active TV")

Express-AMZ ("Orient Express")

Yamal 401 / Yamal 300K ("Yamal")

Of course, satellite TV for free is the dream of every user. Thanks to this opportunity, you can watch interesting programs without a monthly fee, transfer of funds and other investments. The satellite Eutelsat-36A / 36B has about 10 free open channels that can be watched using any TV tuner and dish, having previously tuned in to the desired frequency. And the Hot Bird satellite has many unencrypted Russian and foreign channels. For example, 4 free Armenian channels, there are also French, Italian, Ukrainian and many others. You can also tune in to the ABS 1/2, Yamal 402 satellites - all of them have legal unencrypted channels, for viewing which you just need to correctly configure the satellite equipment.

Using the data and frequencies of the transponders from the tables below, you can tune the reception of these channels on your satellite equipment, but provided that your satellite dish is directed and tuned to the corresponding satellite.

If you have made up your mind and decided to install a satellite dish to watch unencrypted channels, you need to know what is required for satellite TV to work:

Tuner (receiver) - decoder and signal converter. They are available for decoded channels (FTA), and for closed ones with a hard disk, emulators, card readers, various slots and all other functions. When choosing a receiver, carefully study its firmware for the availability and consistency of the incoming software.

A dish (satellite dish) is a device for receiving a signal.

Convector (head) - beats off the transmitted signal from the plate. Where it converts it and sends it to the TV tuner. There is linear and circular polarization of the convector, depending on the satellite.

Bracket - a metal structure, with the help of which the antenna is attached to the wall. Fits 3 - 4 anchors. The antenna leg is selected so that the dish can rotate freely without resting on the wall.

And suddenly the ball will disappear, or all sorts of sanctions from the authorities in law or another type of lawlessness on our head, suddenly it will fall ...

So free satellite TV channels come in handy!

The most common satellite TV option for watching free channels ... these are 3 satellites (HotBird 13 °, Sirius 5 °, Amos 4 °, Astra 19 °).

Viewing channels from these satellites does not require any special cards or subscription fees, but the content of the channels is very inferior to all paid packages.

It mainly broadcasts open Ukrainian channels, some Russian channels of international format, and other open channels partially in Russian.

As compensation for the meager content of this option, a huge number of foreign channels, both open and encoded, on any topic, including those with a Russian soundtrack and channels "for adults", can be broadcast from these satellites.

Some of the encoded channels can now be watched "for free" with the help of receivers or CAM modules with a built-in emulator.

Channel list ... we pick up:

Another option for free viewing is channels broadcast from eastern satellites (LMI-1 75 °, Express AM22 53 °, Express AM2 80 °).

However, these satellites are not installed on one antenna. Most often, an antenna with a diameter of 0.85 and one converter are installed.

Russian channels are broadcast on the eastern satellites.

You can choose any of these satellites as an addition to a 3-satellite system. But there is a variant of the rotary system, which includes both western and eastern satellites.

Channel list ... we pick up:

However ... I'll tell you a secret that the ball has not yet been replaced by something. Of course, the official card is even better, but if finances are crying, then alas ... nothing else remains.
