Receiver power supply resistors.

In offline work. And now there will be a lot of such articles about the repair of various household appliances.

Here is the first one on the topic of repairing household appliances. Although before that there were articles about the repair of household appliances, I did it for myself. This one was already done in his workshop for the repair of household appliances, and not at home.

They asked me to look at the DRE 5000 satellite receiver. Well, since the petitioners were familiar neighbors, I went to their apartment to see the satellite dish at the same time. Since there was a suspicion that the plate moved and got lost. I checked the plate and cable from the DRE 5000 receiver and did not find any faults. When I turned on the DRE 5000 satellite receiver, a small hum in the sound appeared on the TV and the picture fell, that is, there were squares.

Well, from the buzz it is immediately clear that this is a variable background. This means that the voltage is not filtered by the capacitor and the variable component of the voltage creates a buzz.
He told the hostess that the satellite receiver DRE 5000 needs repair. I took the satellite receiver and took it to my parents to check on their satellite dish. Since the satellite receiver DRE 5000 was tuned to Tricolor, and my dish was not tuned to Tricolor. There are 85 degrees and 75 degrees.

Repair of satellite receiver

When the satellite receiver was turned on, the same symptoms appeared: buzzing and tearing the picture except for the STS channel, squares in the image. That is, it is definitely not the satellite dish that is to blame, but the purely satellite receiver DRE 5000 has fallen into disrepair and needs repair.

Disassembled the receiver in the workshop. And immediately at the input of the power supply, a swollen capacitor C3 was found - 47 microfarads at 400 volts. Look at the power supply diagram. The capacitor was swollen, most likely due to a voltage drop in the network and therefore lost its properties. He simply did not call the tester at all.

The capacitor was replaced with a working one and again decided to check the DRE 5000 satellite receiver for sound and picture quality. The buzz was gone, but the picture was falling on most channels, but less so.

On the forums, it was advised to remove the capacitor C5 - 100pf per 1000 volts, since it and next to it the capacitor and resistor are filled with composite for something. Over time, the composite loses its properties and begins to conduct current. These parts overlap with each other and the board burns out. I removed the capacitor and cleaned the board from the composite. Look at the photo. But these details do not affect the image and began to dig further.

But everything turned out to be simple.

In the tuner of the DRE 5000 receiver there is an electrolytic capacitor that dries out over time and begins to malfunction. And the receiver you understand is already old and out of production. It is this capacitor that needs to be removed and a new one should be soldered in its place, at 220μF 16 volts. It is easier to solder the conductor to the fifth leg of the tuner so that the tuner is not unsoldered from the board. And that was done.

I checked the DRE 5000 satellite receiver again for image quality. The squares disappeared and the signal from the dish and all channels showed clearly. On this repair of satellite receiver The DRE 5000 was finished and the receiver was handed over to the customer.

Of course for a certain amount ...

Finally, have a laugh, watch the video ...

Repair of satellite receivers with a defect - "no signal", flooded with rainwater over a cheap Chinese cable.

Most of the defects arising during the operation of STV tuners are associated with the failure of their power supplies. Power supplies of this type fail mainly due to power surges, low-quality components and are very afraid of static voltage. Here is an excerpt from V.K. Fedorov's article. "Repair of satellite receivers" in the appendix to the magazine "Repair & Service" 2010. - to our great regret, when developing power supplies for these brands of receivers (DRE), a number of mistakes were made leading to their failure. For example, capacitors C 9, C12, C15, C19 and C20 have an operating temperature of + 85C, and a very low quality diode is used as D9. Being a longtime user of Tricolor TV and its receivers DRE-4000, DRE-5000, DRE-5001 often I go to the Telesputnik forums. Several times the advice from the "Power Supply Repair" section helped me to repair the receivers for myself and my neighbors, so I decided to summarize the faults mentioned in this section. a workable system.

Warning

1.If the receiver stops loading or is loading longer than the previously set time, immediately look for the reason - you can kill the crypt-module.

2. Remove the crypt-module before starting the repair, put it back in place.

1. Press (Menu) on the remote control, select "Settings", press (OK) and enter the PIN code (default 0000).

2.Select “Factory Defaults” from the menu and press (OK). A warning message will appear on the TV screen about the complete deletion of all user-made settings.

3. Press the red button at the bottom of the remote. The TV screen will ask you to delete all user data.

4. Press the (Left) button to select “Yes”, then press “OK”. The receiver deletes the data for about 15 seconds, during this time it is strictly forbidden to turn off the power of the receiver and to perform any actions with the receiver - this can lead to incomplete or incorrect data writing to the receiver's flash memory and its breakdown.

If the set pincode is unknown, then you can reset it to 0000.

To do this, press (Menu) and select the "Status" item. A window with the data of the receiver will open, then sequentially press the following buttons on the remote control:

white , (9 ), yellow, (4 ), red, (8 ), (7 ), (3 ), (5 ), green.

A window will appear asking: "Change PIN. Are you sure?. Select “Yes” by pressing the “Left” button. ”Confirm to reset the PIN code to 0000? by clicking the "OK" button.

Do-o-long work for your receiver !!!

The satellite receiver included in the recommended equipment "" originally came with a defect. On the operator's TV channels, the image crumbles into small squares. The set-top box accepts open TV channels without problems. This defect is associated with two faults. The manufacturer has released over 7 million DRE 5000 receivers and today this set-top box is used by a large number of "" subscribers. Therefore, the problem is very urgent. But do not rush to buy a new receiver or run to a service center. Surely the warranty period of your receiver has expired long ago. You will have to pay a decent amount for new equipment, the service center specialists will also not fix faults for free. The DRE 5000 can be repaired at home. To do this, you need a pair of new capacitors and a regular soldering iron, it is better to choose a device that is thinner.

Problem # 1

The first malfunction lies in the electrolytic capacitor 47mkf X 400v, located in the power supply. For some reason, it turned out to be swollen. The capacitor looks like it is about to explode. There is only one way to fix the problem - by using a replacement.

We disassemble the power supply. To do this, unscrew the bolts. If there is dirt, it must be removed immediately, since if it burns out, a hole will form in the board. The performance of the device after such an incident is in question.

We remove dust with a fluxofer, spray it and remove it with a brush. We dry the area using a conventional soldering iron.

We solder the condenser and send it to the trash can. Instead, we put a 400 V, 47 uF capacitor. Note! You cannot set with less voltage, you can only set it with more, then there will be a small margin.

To improve the quality of soldering, add flux and solder the next capacitor (10 V, 1000 μF or more).

We connect the receiver to the TV and the network. We check his work.

Problem # 2

The second defect is ripple in the 5 volt power supply circuit of the DVB-S tuner... If you count from the antenna connector, then this will be the 5th leg. This circuit powers the STB6000 microcircuit located inside the tuner. Next to it there is a place for sealing the electrolytic capacitor, but the capacitor itself is absent. Either the manufacturer decided to save money, or the very human factor worked and the developers forgot to include it in the set-top box. There is no need to dismantle and solder the condenser. It is better to install it in a hinged way. An electrolytic capacitor 100mkf X 16v is sealed onto the fifth leg and the picture does not crumble.

As you can see, you can diagnose and fix problems with the receiver "" at home. You do not need to have a technical education and certain skills for this. After such a repair, you will be able to stabilize the image, and problems with sound will disappear instantly. The scale will not jump and you can enjoy watching your favorite TV channels.

OB3350CP backlight driver
Malfunction:
In the TV, the backlight is turned off, the sound and the image remain, you can see it on the MENU matrix.
The backlight is turned off arbitrarily, the backlight can go out right away, or it can work for half an hour. (According to the client)
In a workshop:
Upon admission to the repair, the TV worked for 5 minutes and the backlight turned off.
The solution to the problem did not come immediately.
The first thing I thought about was LEDs!
Opened the cover, checked the voltage on OB3350CP

All voltage is normal when the backlight is on!
When the backlight turns off, the voltage at 2 leg is 0 volts
I decided to open the panel to look at the LEDs ...
Checking the result with the device did not reveal the exact result, it seems that all the LEDs are normal for the current, there is no large discrepancy, all the strips glow perfectly.
The only thing that alerted me and caught my eye was that this place in the circle of diodes was clearly burnt, on some slats it was more noticeable, on others less.
In general, I installed all the bars on the panel again and turned it on without a matrix! UPS ... The LEDs blinked and did not light up.
But before disassembling the panel, the backlight worked for two or three minutes and turned off.
Checked EVERYTHING again! No problems, all the rules. I decided to check each LED separately for current consumption, I did not find any critical differences.
Well maybe? The TV worked, personally took it for repairs and saw the perfect picture together with the client.
And now all the LEDs flash and immediately go out, the LED on the TV panel lights up green, that is, the TV remains in working mode, you can turn it off from the remote control and turn it on again, then the backlight turns on and off abruptly again, the time is no more than 2 seconds.
I checked again the voltage on the OB3350CP driver, everything is normal, except for the voltage on the 2nd leg there it appears for a second and immediately disappears.
I decided that the problem is in the microcircuit itself or in the LEDs. There was no such driver available, I decided to change the LEDs for new ones, since I bought it recently.
Further, replacing the LEDs did not give a result, everything is the same, the backlight blinks and immediately goes out.
I bought two OB3350CPs, changed all two in turn, but the result is the same.
I decided that there was a problem with the mine, but to clear my conscience I decided to check again the entire OB3350CP harness. I cleaned the glue on the backlight connectors, there are also resistors, washed everything with alcohol and let's go around under the microscope .... all the rules!

Only one resistor raised doubts, according to the marking it is 01C (10 kΩ), but when tested for Ohms, it behaves strangely, it increases, then decreases to the norm of 10 kΩ.
Once again, I washed everything and soldered this resistor and finally it went to MΩ.

All repairs are completed, the TV is assembled and put on run!
In the photo, the problem resistor was highlighted, there was no circuit during the repair, so OB3350CP rang like the third leg.

In general, nothing new, who does not work and is not mistaken)) Just repairs ..., I think in this chassis it will be another trick thanks to the quality of the resistors marked 01C.

Repair of power supply for CTB tuner DRE 5000

As already noted in, about 60% of all defects arising in the process of pre-sale preparation and operation of CTB tuners are associated with the failure of their power supplies. However, the operation of the CTB tuner DRE4000 showed its "weak" node - the power supply. DigiRaum has tried to improve the reliability of this unit, and a number of solutions have been introduced into the new DRE 5000 power supply to reduce the number of failures.

Rice. 1 Schematic diagram of the power supply for the DRE 5000 tuner

The schematic diagram of the "DRE 5000" tuner power supply is shown in the figure. First of all, it should be noted that all filtering oxide capacitors in this model have an operating temperature of 105 ° C. The integrated voltage regulator 5 V on the KA7805 microcircuit was replaced with a regulator made on discrete elements, which increased the fault tolerance of this node. The PWM controller with an integrated key transistor U1 of the L0380R type has been replaced with a lower-power analogue DM0365R. The latest revision is most likely caused by the desire to reduce the cost of manufacturing the device. The previous microcircuit was very reliable because it had a power reserve and good heat dissipation. The number of failures of this microcircuit was 1-2 per 30 repairs.

However, some defects were not fixed. In particular, items of very low quality are used at positions D9 and C21. Several dozen devices have already been repaired with defects in the power supply, which are associated to a greater extent with the violation of the operating conditions of the tuner - instability of the supply voltage. Here are the typical defects of the power supply of this tuner and the reasons for their occurrence.

Tuner does not turn on, mains fuse F1 blows

Possible reasons:

Defective (breakdown) one or more diodes D1-D4;

The power switch in the U1 controller is faulty.

The tuner does not turn on. Mains fuse F1 OK

Possible reasons:

Loss of capacitance of capacitor C7;

Break of resistor R2 or R4.

Tuner does not switch on, mains fuse F1 is OK. Power supply output voltage too low

Possible reasons:

Malfunction U3;

Defective capacitor C21 (leakage);

Defective (breakdown) diode D9. It should be replaced with a more powerful one with a Schottky barrier (for example, 1N5822).

Tuner does not switch on, mains fuse F1 is OK. Output voltages are too low. The network indicator is flashing

Possible reasons:

Defective (breakdown) diode D9;

Loss of capacitance of capacitor C3.
