Umi rome x mobile phone. Mobile phone UMI Rome X (Gold)

UMI has tried to capture the market with its Rome model, offering amazing performance at a low price. 8-core MT6753, 3 GB RAM (!!!), AMOLED screen, Sony IMX179 camera, metal frame! In fact, not everything is so rosy ... Review of UMI Rome with passion.

Earlier, Chinese phones were "famous" for how beautifully manufacturers described their phones - even 5 years ago you could see the sacred "HD AMOLED DUAL SIM 21 MP CAMERA SUPERSOUND DOLBY" on the remnant for $ 50, and some Chinese manufacturers on more expensive devices did not hesitate to describe fantastic characteristics. With the development of the market, such manufacturers have almost sunk into oblivion - here, among other things, have affected the rules of the market, when a recognizable brand gets additional buyers, but at the same time it is faced with the need to correspond to the quality and declared characteristics. UMI is one of the "newest" such manufacturers, and very aggressive in marketing terms, their distribution of UMI Zero in batches to bloggers will be remembered for a long time. Smartphones were not without flaws, but they were good in their own way.

And it was all the more interesting to see a novelty - UMI Rome in a design a la Samsung, with metal in the case and very decent characteristics in the form of an 8-core MT6753 and 2 GB of RAM, seasoned with an AMOLED screen and a decent Sony IMX179 photomodule ... And all this for the price from 100 to 120 dollars! And someone managed to buy even cheaper on local shares! Alas, UMI Rome is a smartphone of disappointed expectations and not all of its characteristics turned out to be true.

UMi Rome specifications are stated:
CPU: MT6753 1.3GHz Octa Core ARM Cortex-A53
RAM: 3GB RAM
Memory: 16GB + microSD

Screen: 5.5 ″ HD AMOLED, multitouch
Main camera: 13 MP Sony IMX179
Battery: 2500mAh

GPS: GPS + AGPS + GLONASS

The real characteristics of UMI Rome:

CPU: MT6753 1.3GHz Octa Core ARM Cortex-A53
RAM: 3GB RAM
Memory: 16GB + microSD
Network: 2 SIM, GSM, WCDMA, FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600
Screen: 5.5 ″ IPS HD, 2 touches
Main camera: 8 MP IMX164 (or noname)
Battery: 2500mAh
Dimensions: 153.8 x 77 x 7.5 mm, weight with battery 135.5 g.
GPS: GPS + AGPS + GLONASS

As you can see, in the smartphone there is almost a complete discrepancy in the type of screen, instead of AMOLED, which also attracted me, the usual IPS is installed, also 2 touches, which can hardly be called a full-fledged multitouch. Well, the camera is completely sad - module 164 is a step (if not more) lower than the brave IMX179. But we have to admit, even without these characteristics, the smartphone remains a price-power ratio, because even the MT6753 processor itself is usually installed in more expensive devices, and here there is also 3 GB of RAM! We'll have to disassemble point by point.

Design and build UMi Rome

The appearance of the smartphone seems to be somewhat secondary - the soapy outlines of the body resemble Samsung, although the outlines of a good two or three hundred other phones also look the same. But the surrounding people confused Rome with the products of the Korean manufacturer. Yes, UMI Rome looks more expensive than it actually costs. The solidity is given by the metal frame and the neat design of almost all the details of the case.

Almost - it's almost straight. After all, everything is manifested in the little things, and so here. The case is metal, but the thickness of the rear plastic cover should be measured in nanometers.

The peephole of the fake camera sticks out of the body with a chrome surface.

For some reason, there is a microphone HOLE under the screen. No, not a neat little hole, but a HOLE.

On the bottom edge there are 2 speaker slots and a microUSB connector - but there is only one speaker.

Volume keys wobble.

Can I find fault? Well, no, of the advantages of the assembly here is just the use of a metal frame. It pleasantly cools your hand, the smartphone does not creak (until you put the back cover back in place).

And it turns out like this - the smartphone looks nice and even fits well in the hand, nicely so, with an excellent feel of cool metal. And then you start looking at the details ...

The back cover is removable, it is better to remove it carefully - as I said, because of the thickness. The fastening seems unreliable, I think it is often better not to pull them. It is strange that a generally large smartphone was equipped with a thin and small battery. Dimensions allow you to put a battery 1.5 times more powerful at least ...

The dimensions of the smartphone are standard for a 5.5-inch screen, not too big, not too thick.

UMi Rome screen

Cheating number of times. Why did the manufacturer advertise AMOLED in a smartphone, if then it sells far from AMOLED? Well, yes, not everything will be checked, but someone will believe and will not check. Even on the cover it says about AMOLED. In fact, it uses a regular 5.5-inch IPS screen of very average quality.

Also for 2 touches, it's not worth talking about a full-fledged multitouch. Moreover, many users have phantom screen clicks when charging. There is glass, but I doubt very much that it really is Gorilla Glass.

Battery UMi ROme

With a capacity of 2500 mAh for a 5.5-inch smartphone, you can only scare. Especially with the 8-core MT6753. Here miracles were not expected, and they did not work. And if you do not update your smartphone to the latest firmware version, then the battery charge will not be enough even for one working day - the battery goes away right before your eyes. Slightly better on the latest firmware versions - UMI Rome survives one day with an average intensity of use. But it's still not clear why so little mAh was installed in such a large smartphone.

Communication and communication UMi ROme

A standard set of communications is available - 2 SIM, working 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. However, the same Wi-Fi signal is slightly weaker than other smartphones. Not much, by 20 percent, but even this is enough to not see the network where other devices "catch" 1-2 divisions. There are no complaints about the rest of the modules.

Navigation and GPS in UMi Rome

One thing pleases - with GPS everything is fine, GLONASS works too. It doesn't work for 10 points, but gets 8 for sure.

UMi Rome multimedia and sound

It is also not the strongest side of the smartphone - the voice speaker is deaf, the ringing speaker does not shine with volume either. Moreover, at high volume, the call can actively wheeze, and the voice one perfectly distorts the interlocutor's voice. In general, it will be better only if you get into the engineering menu.
But with the music in the headphones, everything is not so bad - the usual sound of an ordinary smartphone.

UMi Rome camera

Let me remind you that Sony IMX179 was promised. First, test the UMi Rome camera from AIDA64:

The second big smartphone cheat. Instead of a very decent Sony IMX179 module, a certain IMX164 is installed, which, in general, is not even in the Exmor catalog, but, judging by the information, it is found only in the Chinese budget smartphones UMI and BlackView. In fact, an 8 megapixel camera is used, with very weak flash and almost no detail. At night there is no camera at all, in the daytime you can somehow cope with it. Macro photography is also weak, the camera often fails to focus correctly. All in all, a $ 100 smartphone camera is pretty good, but it's not an IMX179 ...

UMi Rome performance and benchmarks

To be honest, I just did not believe that 3 GB of RAM would actually be installed in the smartphone, although we and MT6753 could not have expected for that amount. But no, UMI was being honest here - UMI Rome has excellent performance figures. A smartphone is perfect for games if you approach in terms of power and forget about the need for an outlet nearby.

UMi Rome video review

Conclusions to the UMi Rome review

The UMI Rome smartphone is like a return to the past, when the grass was greener and the Chinese were dumber. Only now we are more stupid. We believe in the stories of “sort of normal” manufacturers, first Blackview BV5000, which is “waterproof”, now UMI Rome with a fake screen, a camera and no battery. However, things are more complicated with UMI Rome. If the BV5000 was still expensive and the claims were justified, then UMI Rome is an inexpensive smartphone. At the same time, it is very powerful, especially 3 GB of RAM for its price and a metal case pleases. Yes, the screen is not AMOLED. Yes, the camera is not IMX179, but some kind of noun. But she shoots well during the day. Perhaps the only serious drawback is almost no battery, you can put up with the rest. And considering the advantages of the smartphone, in general, we can say that UMI Rome is a good buy. After all, to be honest, for $ 100, it will be difficult to find better. Unless, of course, you can forget about the battery.

But I don’t want to do this. For myself, I didn’t see any advantages in the smartphone except the offered power for a low price. And of course it's up to you to decide.

Pros:
- High power
- Metal carcass
- Low price
- Cute design
- Working GPS

Minuses:
- Weak battery
- The camera is not as stated
- 2-touch screen
- Quiet sound
- Weak Wi-Fi

The screen's clarity is average - not good, and not bad. About the same as in the Sony Xperia C3 or Samsung Galaxy A3. The brightness is all right, the viewing angles are also passable. If you tilt the smartphone to the side, the image darkens slightly, but is not inverted or colored with an extraneous color.

The protective glass is of high quality and does not collect scratches over trifles, but the grease-repellent coating could be more effective - you will have to wipe the display from time to time for greater clarity.

If you need specific comparisons - in Honor 4X, the display shows colors a little less reliably, in Wileyfox Storm the image is better in all respects, and ASUS ZenFone Go with its matrix did not stand next to it, with all due respect to the Taiwanese brand.

Despite the fact that the standard audio player in a smartphone is ugly and old (such unprepossessing software has been found in Chinese smartphones for four years now), Rome sounds good in headphones. A typical MT6753 audio section, without embellishment, but it is enough to arm yourself with any decent audio player with an equalizer - and the sound will suit everyone except audiophiles with cool headphones.

But the speakerphone in the smartphone, sorry for the tautology, is not loud. Yes, and not clear - this is how, in principle, almost any ultra-budget smartphone worth 4-7 thousand rubles sounds. For the ringtone, you should select the most sonorous melody as possible.

Iron

The MediaTek MT6753 processor is the Taiwanese answer to the mid-range Snapdragon 615/616/617. Eight energy-efficient cores can handle the daily load well, and only former owners of flagship mobile phones of 2014/2015 will lack its agility. By the way, there is UMI Rome X on sale with a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 - it's cheaper and less fast.

In its original version, the MT6753 is capable of plugging a Qualcomm model into its belt and, in general, looks like a good alternative to an expensive Californian chip. True, in our UMI Rome the processor did not always deliver the power corresponding to its eight cores. There is a reason for this - chronic overheating. The smartphone very quickly becomes hot in games and, although it does not start to slow down (1280x720 pixels help out), in fact it loses dramatically in operating speed.

The new smartphone from the UMI brand is a bright representative of its class that can surprise. Let's start the description with simple characteristics: for example, the UMI Rome X smartphone has a clear and bright display with a size of five and a half inches and a HD-class resolution. Thanks to the technologies that were used to create this screen, all colors on it are displayed very brightly, vividly and in contrast.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core processor from Mediatek, which is famous not only for the highest performance, but also for its high energy efficiency. This means that you can enjoy all the capabilities of the device without fear that it will "sit down" ahead of time. A sufficiently capacious battery (2500 mAh volume) is also responsible for this. With such characteristics, it's even surprising that the price of UMI Rome X has remained so low. For a phone of this class, it can be called budget. In addition, the smartphone has one gigabyte of RAM and eight gigabytes of built-in memory for storing user data. You can order this productive, powerful, sleek device right now to become its owner very soon. Experts say that over time, the price of this model will only rise.

The surprises for those who decided to immediately buy the UMI Rome X do not end there: this gadget boasts a high-tech premium IMX179 camera from Sony. Such a device for shooting is installed, for example, in the phone Huawei Honor 6, which, in terms of its price and characteristics, is several steps higher.

The Umi Rome smartphone was born under interesting circumstances. Initially, this model was announced as unmatched in performance at a price of $ 90. Compared to competitors on paper, Umi Rome emerged victorious in almost all disciplines. The eight-core MediaTek MT6753 CPU looked more attractive than the quad-core counterparts, the AMOLED screen was a rare guest in this price segment, and the 3 GB RAM was an exception to the rule - that Xiaomi Redmi 2 and its sister UMI Fair have a modest capacity of 1 GB, and offered for about the same $ 90.

After the release of the smartphone, everything fell into place, including the price. Now Umi Rome is offered at retail for $ 115, and the lower price turned out to be promotional and temporary. Now the Umi product has much more competitors, and with a surcharge of $ 20-25, you can buy the Umi eMax Mini with a FullHD resolution screen and Qualcomm SoC. How well will Umi Rome perform in such a saturated and competitive environment?

OS and interface

Umi Rome smartphone comes with firmware version 3.01 based on Android 5.1 OS. At the time of this writing, firmware version 3.03 was available, which can be installed by following or using the Umi RootJoy program. I used the second option. Note that RootJoy still has a bug with downloading the firmware to the wrong folder C: \ Users \ 挟 褉 邪 \ Documents \ download \ ROM; to start the update procedure, you will need to specify the path to the archive with the firmware manually. After that, the process will go without user intervention and will take about five minutes.

The standard Android interface is used without additional "embellishments". There are no additional applications, except for the SuperSU utility, which controls root access. But there are several nice additions in the system settings, some of which appeared in the Umi flagships quite recently. We are talking about broad support for gesture control, which can be used both on the screen off and in many standard applications: camera, browser, player, dialing, etc. file. The Russification is of high quality, there are only a few non-translated menu items.

Hardware platform and performance

The Umi Rome smartphone has become one of the most affordable (if not the most) models with the MediaTek MT6753 platform. It is often found in phones priced at $ 140-180, but rarely drops below $ 130. So for its modest $ 115, Umi Rome offers a really good SoC. It has eight 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 cores and a Mali-T720 GPU - not the most powerful in the family, but it goes well with the 1280x720 pixel screens like Umi Rome. The amount of RAM in 3 GB is also the maximum for a smartphone in this price range; an ordinary user will hardly be able to fill this amount of memory.

It is curious that the platform and the amount of RAM in Umi Rome are much identical to those in much. At the same time, today's test subject has a lower resolution screen, which means that he should show the best performance in games and related tests. I've tested Umi Iron too, so I'll just run the tests and compare the results.

Oddly enough, in the 3DMark tests Umi Rome is insignificantly, but yielded to the older model, although formally it is in more difficult conditions due to the high screen resolution. But Umi Rome played out in the Epic Citadel test on the popular Unreal Engine at maximum graphics settings. Here the subject showed 48.9 fps versus 28.5 fps for Umi Iron. Still, the ARM Mali-T720 accelerator is better suited for a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, in other cases its strength may not be enough for games with rich graphics. The processor core scores for Umi Rome and Umi Iron are identical. The excellent write performance of the built-in flash memory can be noted, which is not common.

In real games, the smartphone performed well. In Dead Trigger 2, the frame rate was high and smooth at medium settings, at high fps settings it sometimes sagged in scenes with difficult lighting or reflections. It is very comfortable to play in Real Racing 3 - fps is not transcendental, but it remains at a stable average level without sudden "freezes", because of which the car often flew into a ditch when playing on the Umi eMax Mini. In Asphalt 8, everything is generally great and smooth. The Umi Rome smartphone turned out to be quite balanced and powerful in terms of gaming performance (taking into account the price, of course). Under intense load, the rear panel to the left of the rear camera heats up noticeably (but not excessively), and with it the metal sidewalls. The OS interface and everyday apps run smoothly and quickly without noticeable lags.

Communication and communications

The MediaTek MT6753 platform has received a wide variety of tools for communicating with the outside world. Although the Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard is not supported (only dual-band 802.11n), it does support FDD and TDD LTE Rel. 9, Cat. 4, DC-HSPA +, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000 1x / EVDO Rev. A and EDGE. To access the two MicroSIM slots, you need to remove the battery, the memory card is installed without these manipulations.

Wi-Fi speed was tested when connected to a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND router (first revision), for which the limit is 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. The tariff plan provides speeds up to 100 Mbps. The smartphone was at a distance of one meter in line of sight from the router:

The download and upload speed in only one of the three measurements reached 60 and 77 Mbps, but this is a decent result, although the download sometimes sags for some unknown reason.

I will check the GPS function by turning off Wi-Fi and removing the SIM card. The first satellite was found eight seconds later, but it took just over two minutes to establish a reliable connection. Yes, and the sensitivity let us down, a convincing reception is achieved in the open air or close to the window in the room (in the screenshot). As soon as you move a meter deep into the room, the signal level drops sharply.

Autonomous work

Umi Rome is powered by a 2500mAh Li-ion battery. This is a very modest figure for a large-screen smartphone; although AMOLED is considered an economical technology, the consumption of such screens strongly depends on the brightness of the displayed image. Therefore, some manufacturers specifically optimize the color scheme of the OS and system menus, making the background and other elements black. This extends battery life, but in the case of Umi Rome, the usual color scheme is used.

In tests of autonomy, Umi Rome proved to be modest. Four hours in the PCMark test means that if people like to play, they often have to charge their smartphone before the end of their work / school day. All other users can count on a day of battery life with an average intensity of use.

Outcomes

At $ 115, the Umi Rome smartphone has become a controversial but noteworthy proposition. The minimum equipment in this price segment is quite justified and is not a minus. The rustic design with inexpensive body materials is also a logical consequence of the low price. Camera performance has become one of the major drawbacks that could stop a potential buyer from acquiring Umi Rome. I also recall the mediocre autonomy and quality of the voice and ringer dynamics.

Umi Rome is interesting primarily due to the powerful eight-core MediaTek MT6753 platform. An important plus is the availability of 3 GB of RAM - an outstanding figure for this price. Game lovers will love the combination of the ARM Mali-T720 accelerator, which demonstrates good performance in conjunction with a 1280x720 pixel screen. As a result, Umi Rome can be called a super budget gaming smartphone with a platform from a more expensive segment.

But there is one more point that I wanted to summarize. This is a Umi Rome screen, which Umi claims and specs uses an AMOLED matrix, but still exhibits a high luminance in black. In LCD screens, this effect is provided by the backlight, which AMOLED does not. In order not to be unfounded, I photographed the Umi Rome screen, and on the right in the first photo is the screen of the old man LG Optimus Sol, which really uses an AMOLED matrix:

In both cases, the maximum brightness was set, and LG's advantage in black depth is obvious. The luminance of the black field of Umi Rome changes with the change in the brightness of the screen. It seems that Umi Rome (in all copies or in certain batches) uses a screen other than AMOLED, which is not consistent

UMI Rome X was announced in late 2015 and went on sale in early 2016. It is a simplified version of UMI Rome, which was positioned as the most beautiful and affordable smartphone with an attractive filling.

Outwardly, the smartphone resembles the flagships from Samsung in 2015. But the filling is far from those. Depending on the store, the device is sold for 72 to 92 USD.

In terms of technical parameters, UMI Rome X belongs to the entry-level smartphones.

Design, body materials, dimensions and weight

Due to the curves and beveled edges, the device at first glance seems more expensive than it actually is. It comes in two colors: black (the glossy cover gets dirty), and gold, where prints are almost invisible. The case is slippery, it is not very comfortable in the hand. The frames are made of metal, the back cover is plastic.

The only microphone is located under the touch sensitive navigation buttons. On the bottom edge you can find the speaker holes and the MicroUSB connector.
On the top edge there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Device dimensions: 153.8 x 77 x 7.9 mm, weight - 183 g.

There are a lot of complaints about the assembly of the case. The bezel of the camera protrudes strongly above the rear panel, and even after installing the bumper, the situation does not change. There is a gap between the 2.5D glass on the bezel and the frame to accommodate a sheet of office paper. And the paint on the metal edging fades over time: tested on the "gold" version. The metal power and lock buttons located on the right edge rattle like rattles.

But the most unpleasant thing is yet to come. The side ends respond to finger and palm touch. As a result, phantom clicks occur on the screen, as well as on the touch-sensitive navigation buttons. Some users note that phantom clicks do not appear if you avoid contact of hands with the rims. You just need to put the bumper on the body of the device.

But there is another point. In the first revision, an ugly glued piece of black cloth is used as a backing covering the train. As a result, the battery and the lid press the ribbon cable, which also causes false triggering of the touch buttons. In the second batch of smartphones, this defect was to be corrected by installing a metal plate as a substrate. But the "glitch" still manifests itself from time to time.

CPU

The device uses an obsolete 4-core processor. This is MediaTek MT6580 (Cortex-A7, 1.3 GHz), with a Mali-400MP2 video core. The hardware is clearly not gaming, but it copes with everyday tasks. Moreover, it is quite possible to launch a 3D game. You just need to understand that you won't be able to play "tanks" at maximum or medium graphic settings. The Antutu synthetic test evaluates the performance of the device at 24 thousand points.

Memory

The amount of memory is minimal, as it should be for a budget model. RAM here is 1 GB, after the system is started, 670 MB are free. The internal 8 GB storage is about half free. A possible memory deficiency will help fill the memory card. The smartphone has a microSD slot with a maximum capacity of 32 GB.

Autonomy

The UMI Rome X has a removable battery. The capacity, according to the manufacturer's data, is 2500 mAh. Judging by the test results, the real battery capacity does not exceed 2060 - 2150 mAh. With moderate use of the gadget, the battery will last for a day. With active use, a fully charged battery will "ask" for recharging already at lunchtime.

Camera

Probably the only point in which the manufacturer barely messed up. Identical sensors - IMX 164 and IMX179 can be used for the main camera. Shooting is performed with a resolution of 13 megapixels. This is interpolation, the real image resolution is 8 megapixels. In theory, FullHD video should be recorded, in practice a maximum of HD is supported.

The flash is double, bright. Automatic focusing is supported. The photos are quite decent for a device in its price range. You can count on relatively detailed and contrasting images with rich colors. Naturally in good daylight. The camera copes well with macro photography. At night and in low light conditions, the result is predictable: details merge into a mess of noise and artifacts. In these lighting conditions, it is not customary to expect high-quality images from entry-level devices. Here are some different shots on UMI Rome X:

Front camera of 5 megapixels (interpolation from 2 megapixels) is complemented by a flash. However, a smartphone is definitely not suitable for selfies. In order for a face to be visible in a photo taken in the dark, a dim flash must fire at a distance of a few centimeters. There is nothing to say about the quality of the resulting images - noise, blurring, low detail, etc.

Display

First, about the good. The smartphone uses an LTPS display with a diagonal of 5.5 inches, and HD (1280 x 720) resolution. The image on the display pleases with rich color reproduction. The matrix has good viewing angles. The backlight brightness is normal, the screen content fades in the sun, but remains visible. The touch supports 2 full touches that do not merge into one.

And now about the unpleasant moments. The most harmless thing is the light at the bottom of the screen, which does not affect the performance of the equipment. It is much more unpleasant to encounter a "tight" tach: you can often notice jerks when scrolling down. In many instances, the touchscreen behaves generally inadequately: you press in one place, it works in another. That is, it is almost impossible to type text. The glitches of the wheelbarrow are especially noticeable after the smartphone has been in the cold.

Connection

UMI Rome X supports 2 MicroSIM, works in 2G and 3G networks. Fortunately, there are no problems with communication. Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi b / g / n wireless modules also work fine. GPS navigation (A-GPS) is supported, but there is little sense from it. Navigation does not work as expected. And if one of the GPS users "got started", then only after "dancing with tambourines." Navigation systems find few satellites, and the geolocation accuracy is low. There is no electronic compass, and without it there is not much sense in navigation.

Sound

In terms of the sound component, the smartphone also has problems. The sound from the external speaker is tolerable, but it does not shine with a high volume margin. The earpiece is also quiet, but the volume level can be adjusted through the engineering menu. But the microphone sensitivity is in order, and the sound in the headphones is not satisfactory.

OS

UMI Rome X runs Android 5.1. The system is clean, there are only minor visual changes from the manufacturer in the shell. The OS is relatively stable, but the annoying touchscreen spoils the experience. Sometimes new firmware versions appear, containing fixes for some bugs. But the firmware is not updated over the air. You have to download it yourself and install it manually.

Peculiarities

Unlike many other smartphones with MediaTek MT6580 processor, UMI Rome X supports OTG. The device recognizes external USB drives with FAT and FAT32 file systems.

It is known about the existence of four revisions of this smartphone. The first and second differ visually, according to the substrate under the battery. The third and fourth revisions have different screens. Accordingly, the firmware from the first two revisions is not suitable for them. And finally, the 4th revision initially shoots without interpolation, with a resolution of 8 megapixels.

Pros and cons of UMI Rome X

Advantages:

  • good design, if you do not peer into the details;
  • the main camera, taking into account the cost of the gadget, shoots well;
  • OTG support.

Flaws:

  • sometimes the proximity sensor is buggy;
  • lousy build quality;
  • incorrect operation of the touchscreen;
  • phantom pressing of touch buttons;
  • problems with sound volume;
  • GPS is not working properly;
  • confusion with revisions, and hence with firmware.

Alternatives

Devices with similar hardware and lower cost - the sea. Moreover, for the same money you can buy a smartphone with better performance and acceptable quality.

The Bluboo Maya is also nicely designed, with twice the memory, a light indicator and Android 6. The Homtom HT3 Pro is not so pretty, but it is equipped with an MT6735 chip, a 3000 mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM. An honorable place in the list of alternatives is occupied by the Doogee X5 Max Pro, which, in addition to the advantages of the Homtom HT3 Pro, received a 4000 mAh battery, and even a fingerprint scanner.

Our review of the smartphone UMI Rome X

They say that "beauty requires sacrifice." But these sacrifices are hardly appropriate when choosing a device for permanent use. In this case, nerves are more expensive, and beauty is meaningless. All the same, it will hide in a cover or bumper, so that the device does not slip out, the lid is not scratched, and there are no false positives. Judging by the review, this is a very problematic smartphone. A rare buyer is lucky to get a UMI Rome X with a minimum of significant drawbacks.

Or they turn a blind eye to problems, given the cost of the product. In other cases, users have to poke around in the engineering menu, fiddle with firmware, patches. In attempts to fix the situation on their own, it comes down to disassembling the case. UMI Rome X is one of the worst choices for anyone looking for a device that works fine out of the box.
