What conclusions can be drawn from this statement? Better to put the question differently ...

Which of the things said by Yandex is true? Yandex claims:

It is calculated according to a specially developed algorithm.

Based on the foregoing, a simple conclusion suggests itself - there is a special algorithm for calculating citations. But Yandex does not specify the fact that this algorithm is constantly changing. And in general, the principle of operation of this algorithm is extremely incomprehensible to many, although in general terms everything is quite simple. Go ahead:

An important role is played by the thematic proximity of the resource and the resources referring to it.

I completely agree with this. Although Yandex cannot accurately determine the subject of the resource, the similarity of the referring resources is very important for obtaining CY. But this factor is very controversial. You can get a link from a resource on your topic, but in the eyes of Yandex, this link will not be topic-specific. How to deal with this? The easiest way is to try to isolate the main query in the semantic core of the site and draw conclusions based on it. But there are sites that do not have a semantic core, as such. In this case, it is worth analyzing the main page of the project for the frequency of occurrence of a certain phrase and, based on the data obtained, try to determine the topic of the project yourself (apparently, Yandex does just that).

The number of links to a resource itself also affects the value of its citation, but it is determined not by the number of links, but by the sum of their weights.

And here Yandex is already getting dark. Experiments on this topic have already been carried out on the Internet several times, and judging by the results, it is the number of referring domains that affects CY, and not their quality. I think now each of you got to know the titz better.

Citation Index Facts

To be honest, there is not so much reliable information about particles. Below I will give the well-known facts:

  • The citation index does not in any way affect the search results in Yandex.
  • Sites in the Yandex directory (YAK) are arranged in order of decreasing citation
  • The total TIC of the Runet, more precisely, of all projects participating in Yandex search, remains unchanged. There has already been research on this, so take it for granted.
  • The citation index is influenced by the number of referring thematic domains
  • The displayed values ​​are always approximate. That is, the TIC indicator is an approximate parameter that is rounded
  • Domains of the third level do not transmit puzomerka. An exception to this rule is domains participating in the YAK
  • TIC is a completely external factor, that is, no internal factors can influence its value

The rating of a project is influenced by several dozen parameters. Link mass and its quality have a huge impact. Buying good links promises an increase in the citation index after the next updates. PR is no longer updated!

In the process of communicating with quite popular Runet bloggers, I learned interesting information. Many are convinced that the growth of the rating increases the volume of traffic on the resource. Indeed, the very decoding of the abbreviation contains the essence of this designation. TIC is assigned to the site as a whole. In contrast to PR, the numbers can fluctuate significantly, i.e. from 0 to tens of thousands.

PR (Page Rank)- a phrase that determines the rank of a particular page. Unlike TIC, Google Page Rank is calculated for each individual page. This is a kind of assessment of the importance of the object. It is measured by a number from 0 to 10. Sites with the last digit are quite rare. Another thing is PR 1 - 3. To assign a unit, it is enough to do internal SEO optimization - publish high-quality content and do internal linking. As well as for the TIC, relevant outbound links influence the increase in the page rank.

What does TIC and PR give?

At first I was very concerned about this topic, but then it somehow faded into the background. More time was spent on internal SEO optimization. As a result, TIC and PR at the same time knocked on the door unexpectedly.

Commenting on thematic forums

We type in a word or phrase related to the topic of your web project in the search line. Let's say the site touches on the HandMade theme. We write "HandMade forum" and click search. Next, you need to become an active member of this portal, write intelligible comments and organically insert links to your blog.

I registered on 4 thematic forums, from which I occasionally get traffic. The total number of links linking to my site is 20.

Link exchange

A very convenient way to raise TIC and PR. For implementation, it is necessary to find sites of similar topics and send their owners proposals for cooperation, i.e. exchange links. To communicate, you need to find the word "Contacts" located in the upper horizontal menu. Also, e-mail is often indicated in the header of the site - the upper area of ​​the project, where the logo is located or in its basement (at the very bottom).

2. Unique pictures in articles


Everyone puts pictures in articles, this is certainly an important element, because reading bare text is rather difficult and not interesting. But most often bloggers take pictures from regular Yandex or Google search. They take non-unique pictures that are already used on 40 other resources and search engines consider this as non-unique content (stolen).

I use in articles your screenshots, personal photos and pictures which I edit in Photoshop. You can watch my feed and see what kind of thumbnails I use. I overlay layers with color and text to make the picture unique.

3. Quality of recordings


On the previous site, I started by rewriting articles, that is, rewriting someone else's text. Now search engines are very smart and see where is the unique article and where is the rewritten one. Write a text of at least 2000-3000 characters, optimize them for PS.

4. Quantity


At the time of the raising of the particles, 36 records were published on the site. In my opinion, this is not much, if divided by a year, then this is one piece every 10 days. But all the articles I tried to write voluminous and not rewrite, I wrote myself - my thoughts. Here, apparently, the rule played: Less, but better!)


This is an important point, but for me it is lame :-) You need to publish articles as often as possible, preferably every day, especially for new sites. Frequency affects both traffic and fast indexing.

1. Commenting on other blogs- I didn’t comment very much, but I got a few backlinks from this. You can also get a certain amount of traffic if your comment is one of the first. I think this is a good method, it is free and the PS considers such links to be natural.



3. Publication of the announcement of the entry in different social networks- immediately after you have published an article, share it in all possible social networks. PS now relate to social networks much better and search robots often hang out there, so this method will also contribute to fast indexing.

If you recently acquired your own project, then you have probably already heard that Yandex calculates this indicator for each site individually.

But no matter how simple this definition may seem to you, the key role here is played not by the number of referring links, but by their quality.

Quality is understood as the similarity of the subject of the linked site with yours. For example, if you have a website about culinary, then if your project is linked to from culinary sites, it will be of much greater importance, both for the growth of the TIC and for the promotion of the project in the TOP.

Why is everyone striving to increase the TIC

Now I will reveal a secret for novice optimizers, which says that when ranking sites in search results, Yandex does not take into account the value of this indicator.

Let's say you have TIC-10 and you are ranked 5th in the search results for a specific request, but if you increase the indicator to TIC-200, you will still be in 5th place.

But if your project is in the Yandex Catalog, then this changes things a little. All sites are located there in descending order of their citation index, that is, the practical use of this indicator is to determine the place in the Ya. Catalog.

We talked about how to get into the directory from Yandex and what sites take to the catalog from Yandex, but for now I have no desire to waste about 15,000 rubles for the paid addition of my blog there.

Initially, when there was TIC-0, for the sake of experiment, I threw a blog into the Rotapost system and looked at how much they could start buying perpetual links from me.

With the indicators TIC-0 and PR-2, I received dozens of offers to buy a link for 80 rubles. This factor will also be influenced by the number of visitors, the presence of directories and low Alexa Rank.

After the TIC increased to 20, I could easily sell links for 200 rubles.

Basic methods of increasing TIC

First. Write quality content. You write useful, interesting and well-optimized articles. Such articles are read by your visitors, they like it, and they put a link to your material. Or they copy your article to themselves, but point to a link to the original source.

Initially, everything was conceived on this principle. The TIC should increase naturally, that is, you write, and over time, as the project develops, the links themselves will begin to appear on you.

Second. Commenting on blogs... If you run your own blog, then of course you read other blogs similar to your topic. Share your experience and express your opinion using comments.

So on some projects, in the comments left, links are not closed from indexing by search engines, and they also transfer weight perfectly, albeit not large.

I also call such blogs "Dofollow", it will not be difficult to find them, use Yandex or Google search.

And if you are an active commentator, then you have a chance to get to the main page in the TOP commentators section and get a cross-link from the blog.

Non-working Methods of Increasing the Citation Index

At the very beginning of creating a blog or website, you should not order all kinds of catalog runs. Not only is your blog still young and green, but Yandex has long been aware of this entire system. So you can get to the ban.

Does the TIC increase the run on social bookmarks - definitely not. All catalogs in social bookmarks have nofollow and, accordingly, they cannot transfer any weight.


The main thing is not to make a link explosion, that is, hundreds of sites suddenly began to link to the blog.
