Which smartphone is similar to iPhone. Buyer's guide

Just a week ago, a noisy and very long-awaited for many fans release of the new iPhone from Apple took place. This year, two models were presented at once - iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the main difference of which is the enlarged screen. At the same time, the price of new devices has grown a little and thus gave a chance to other manufacturers, whose device prices are much lower, and some of the characteristics are even better than the new Apple devices.

So, both iPhones got a new 64-bit A8 processor, 8 megapixel F2.2 rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera. The model has a fingerprint scanner. finger touch ID, appeared NFC module, added LTE support networks and other less significant features.

Of course, true fans of apple products will run to buy new smartphones without thinking about it. alternative options from other manufacturers, of which there are a great many on the mobile market now. Besides, Chinese phones can now boast good performance and the quality of performance of both the external component of the phone and the internal one. We invite you to consider the top 10 best smartphones in our opinion, which can give odds even to an advanced iPhone.

Xiaomi Mi4

The release of this device was just a month ago. There are not many differences compared to the previous Mi3 model, however, its characteristics are quite impressive and the phone can be an excellent purchase in terms of price / quality ratio.

The main difference between Xiaomi Mi4 compared to Mi3 is an updated case, which is made very high quality using plastic, glass and metal. The manufacturer also made interchangeable back panels, presenting a whole series of different designs. The device is equipped with a 5” IPS LCD (Sharp) screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, 441 ppi with automatic adjustment backlight level, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with a frequency of 2.5 GHz and has 3 GB random access memory.

In China, Xiaomi Mi4 costs only 1999 yuan, in Europe the price tag is expected to be $440.

Meizu MX4

Meizu MX4 has recently been called the Chinese iPhone and it's hard to disagree with this. A week ago, the presented phone on this moment scored 7.7 million pre-orders worldwide! The appearance of the phone is probably the closest to the image of the iPhone 6 Plus. The phone has a slightly non-standard screen size of 5.36″ with a resolution of 1920 × 1152 pixels, but the increase in the screen did not affect the dimensions of the device, because the thickness of the frame between the display and the edge of the case is 2.6 mm.

The phone is equipped with the top eight-core platform Mediatek MT6595: with a quad-core A17 frequency of 2.2 GHz and a quad-core A7 1.4 GHz. PowerVR G6200 600MHz graphics, 2GB RAM, 16/32/64GB non-expandable storage. It all runs on a 3000mAh battery and is wrapped in a high-quality case with a frame made of aircraft-grade aluminum. The Meizu MX4 also has a 20 MP camera from Sony (IMX220 Exmor RS).

In China, the price of Meizu MX4 starts at 1,799 yuan for the younger 16 GB version, 32 GB will cost 2,000 yuan, 64 GB - 2,400 yuan. The official cost of the smartphone in Russia will be determined before September 10, previously the younger model will be sold at a price of 15,000-16,000 rubles, the older ones are more expensive.

One Plus One

A newcomer to the smartphone market, but nonetheless was immediately marked as a flagship killer. OPO is already in full sale and has thousands of fans around the world, although the design may seem very boring and not original to many. The smartphone runs on CyanogenMod 11S with Trebuchet 1.0 shell.

The body of the device is made of plastic, has edges made of aluminum, and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. The plastic in the white OnePlus One is smooth, matte, pleasant to the touch and practical - marks and prints are invisible on it. The screen has a diagonal of 5.5″, a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a density of 401 ppi. The smartphone is built on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 platform with a 2.5 GHz quad-core processor, graphics subsystem (GPU) - Adreno 330 with a processor frequency of 578 MHz. The device has 3 GB of RAM and 16/64 GB of internal memory. Camera – 13 MP with autofocus, dual LED backlight, video is recorded in 4k, 1080p, front camera 5 MP. All this is powered by a good 3100mAh battery.

The price tag for this device ranges from $299 to $379.

Huawei Honor 6

In this phone, as in the ones presented above, aluminum and glass are used in the manufacture of the case, the combination of which makes the appearance of the device more stylish and expensive. Outwardly, Honor 6 is very similar Huawei Ascend P7, although the thickness of the device has increased slightly to 7.5mm. But the processor can please a very fast work, it has an eight-core processor with a frequency of 1.7 GHz.

Like many Chinese flagship smartphones, the Honor 6 has 3GB of RAM and a 13MP camera with 1080p video recording (1920 x 1080 pixels). All this works for operating system from android version 4.4 KitKat with its own UI Emotion shell, thereby adding some individuality and ease of use of the device.

High-quality, 5″ screen with oleophobic coating, stylish case from natural materials, the possibility of using microSD cards up to 64 GB and a 3100mAh battery make this phone a very attractive proposition.

The $390 price outside of China is very competitive.

Gionee Elife S5.1

Perhaps you are not interested in the chic specifications of the device, a large battery and replaceable panels, and you just want to get a stylish phone in a quality design, then this phone is worth a closer look. The smartphone is the thinnest in the world, only 5.1mm!

Elife S5.1 boasts a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1GB RAM and protective glasses Gorilla Glass 3 front and back! The phone supports LTE and has a processor: 8 cores, 1700 MHz, MTK6592 and 8 MP. camera, very similar to what will be in the new iPhone 6.

And now the most interesting - the price. To date, the GioNee Elife S5.5 smartphone can be found in Russia from 17,000 rubles.

Lenovo Vibe Z2

If you are looking for something non-standard, slightly different from current smartphones, then Lenovo Vibe Z2 will suit you. The shape of the Vibe is certainly very similar to its competitors - a rectangular shape with sharp edges. The body is made of polished aluminum, the choice is three options - white, titanium and gold.

It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera, a 5.5-inch display, 1280x720 pixels, super-bright - 520cd (for comparison, modern TVs have a brightness of around 400cd), and a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 quad-core processor with a frequency of 1.4 GHz. RAM in the device is 2 GB, and the battery has a capacity of 3000mAh (standby time - up to 17 days, talk time - up to 30 hours).

All this stuff can be purchased for about $430.

ZTE Nubia Z7

Of all the phones on our list, the Nubia Z7 is one of the most difficult smartphones to get your hands on at the moment, and it's not because of marketing at all, but because of the insane demand in both the Chinese and European markets.

In total, there are 3 phone configurations - Nubia Z7 Mini, Z7 Max and the top-end version - Z7. Each phone in this series boasts support for two SIM cards, support for LTE networks and a Qualcomm processor. On board there is android system 4.4 and 2 GB of RAM.

IUNI U3

Like Meizu smartphone MX4, IUNI U3 has very thin edges between the screen and the edge of the case. Of course, the body of the device itself is made in the already traditional style - it is metal, slightly curved on the back cover. The phone looks very stylish and has an impressive 5.5″ screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels!

The smartphone has two slots for SIM-cards, 3000mAh battery, LTE and 3 GB of RAM. The main camera is 13 MP with a Sony sensor, with optical stabilization, the front camera is 4 MP. U3 runs on a quad-core processor, 2.3 GHz and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 platform. The smartphone will run on Android 4.4, the shell is proprietary IUNI OS, very similar in concept and menu organization to MIUI.

You can buy this phone since September of this month, the cost of IUNI U3 in China is 2,000 yuan, which is about 12,500 rubles.

Lenovo Vibe X2

A phone with classic features without any frills. The design is quite predictable, but at the same time, the smartphone has a thickness of only 7.27mm, a 5″ display and a 13MP camera. This is one of the first models on the market built on an 8-core processor from MediaTek - MT6595m. The maximum frequency is 2 GHz, with 4 Cortex A17 cores, and 4 Cortex A7 cores for improved power saving. The amount of RAM is 2 GB, built-in memory - 32 GB.

Enough stylish vibe X2 weighs only 120 grams and has a 2250 mAh battery. This device should come out in October at an approximate cost of 15,000 rubles ($390 for other countries, figure from a press release).

Vivo Xshot

And in conclusion, another very interesting smartphone with good characteristics, having the entire gentleman's set of the flagship device. The phone looks no worse than its rivals, thin, stylish and with very good characteristics.

In this device there is everything that is present in flagship smartphones. Xshot has a 5.2″ screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB of RAM. The main camera is 13 MP with a Sony F1.8 sensor, there is support for LTE and the possibility of expanding memory up to 128 GB. The battery in the device is 2600 mAh.

Price this device pre-order, about $499.

In custody …

As you can see, there is a rather big choice. To date, there is a sufficient number of highly competitive manufacturers, the number of which is growing every day. Judging by the characteristics of many devices, most of them are even more powerful than the new smartphones from Apple, and the workmanship and materials are no worse. We have presented only the most interesting options, the price of which is even lower than that stated for the iPhone 6 Plus. Note that almost all presented smartphones have enough good batteries and screens with a diagonal of at least 5 inches.

What phone would you buy? Share your opinions in the comments.

If such material is of interest to our readers, the section can be continued, as well as some phone models and profitable places to purchase them can be considered in more detail in separate articles.

From the presentation new iPhone enough time has passed, and even more so since the introduction of previous models. But the trouble is, the price is still quite high and not everyone can afford a top-end apple smartphone, and many simply feel sorry for spending such an amount on a mobile phone.

Then an idea came to my mind, because the mobile market is quite saturated, especially with models from Chinese manufacturers, which, however, are no worse, and in some moments even better than the eminent “apple”. It is these models that we will consider today.

Huawei Nova

Although the smartphone is similar to the Huawei Nexus 6P, it has its own zest. This is a solid design, a metal case and excellent hardware. On board is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and 3 GB of RAM. There is also a 12-megapixel camera, which not only takes great pictures, but also can record video in 4K.

Huawei Honor 8

Another smartphone from Huawei, which could not be included in the this list. Honor 8 has a cool look, a large 5.2-inch display, a dual 12MP camera and a lot of cool features. Hidden inside its sleek body is a proprietary Kirin 950 octa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and 32/64 internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi5s Plus

Top smartphone and pride of the eminent Xiaomi (not yet released new flagship). The smartphone received a hefty 5.7-inch display, incredible powerful processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 4/6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of flash memory. In addition, it has a dual 13 MP camera, which works on the same principle as in Huawei smartphones. Of course, the color palette of Mi5s Plus includes the now fashionable color “rose gold”.

One Plus 3T

OnePlus is famous for its smartphones for two reasons: firstly, top-end hardware, and secondly, a nice price tag. This is exactly what the OnePlus 3T turned out to be, it has the same powerful Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 821, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory. In addition, there are 16 MP main and front cameras on board, and a powerful 3400 mAh battery is responsible for autonomy. And after that, who will say that this is not a top flagship?

Meizu Pro 6

Meizu Pro 6 closes our list. Here you have the force of pressing on the screen, similar to 3D Touch and a ten-core processor MediaTek Helio X25, and even a high-quality Cirrus Logic CS43L36 audio chip is installed. As you might guess, the model focuses on the musical basis. With Meizu Pro 6, you can record high-quality sound or enjoy the pure sound of music.

The history of copying (oh, sorry - creative borrowing) in business, for sure, has more than one thousand years. And it is inherent not only to Chinese companies, as is commonly believed everywhere. If you remember how the same Korean (and before them - Japanese) companies started, then it turns out a lot of "surprising" facts of such borrowing. In the case of the market mobile phones, the design of the iPhone is unattainable by all the industry standard. This can be argued bang your head against the wall, but this is true - all phone manufacturers dream of making the design of their devices as attractive as possible for buyers. Therefore, even eminent global companies act in the spirit of the popular Soviet anecdote during Perestroika: “let them slander” and impudently copy borrow (and, of course, “creatively rethink”) the design of the iPhone in their phones.

The history of copying (oh, sorry - creative borrowing) in business, for sure, has more than one thousand years. And it is inherent not only to Chinese companies, as is commonly believed everywhere. If you remember how the same Korean (and before them - Japanese) companies started, then it turns out many "surprising" facts of such borrowing. In the case of the mobile phone market, the design of the iPhone is an unattainable industry standard. This can be argued bang your head against the wall, but it's true - all phone manufacturers dream of making the design of their devices as attractive as possible for buyers. Therefore, even eminent global companies act in the spirit of the popular Soviet anecdote during Perestroika: “let them slander” and impudently copy borrow (and, of course, “creatively rethink”) the design of the iPhone in their phones.

Of course, all these conditional "clones" of the iPhone work under Android control and apart from appearance Apple smartphone nothing else is copied. In practice, it is possible to make an interface completely copying iOS (with restrictions, of course), but well-known manufacturers still do not stoop to such a step. Preferring to divert the attention of buyers from the resemblance to the iPhone with all sorts of marketing and advertising moves. But you can’t throw words out of the song - by a funny (albeit natural) coincidence, all companies that have released such smartphones are of Chinese origin. Isn't that why, by the way, their success in the global market has become so significant? - If someone is not in the know, then Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi close the top five largest smartphone manufacturers. Therefore, the word "Chinese" in relation to the manufacturer of phones can be safely classified today as having lost its ironic meaning.

Huawei P6

The first major company to openly borrow Apple's design was Huawei with its Huawei Ascend P6 smartphone. Now on sale it is easier to meet his heir - model Huawei Ascend P7. Their design is reminiscent of the iPhone 5. And although the device does not have a recognizable button on the front panel, its design is difficult to confuse with something else.

Lenovo S90

Looking at the whole thing, Lenovo also did not stand aside from an important design trend and released its Lenovo S90 smartphone, which looks like a brand new iPhone 6. Ironically (I am far from thinking of linking these two facts directly) simultaneously with the release of this Lenovo models ranked third in the global rankings of smartphone manufacturers.

Xiaomi Mi4

Maybe at first glance, an inexperienced eye will not be able to draw a parallel between the design of the iPhone Xiaomi Mi4, but you can’t fool us on the chaff - just look at the ends of the device to find not just a similarity, but the very design borrowing. Of course, we have nothing against such a “designer find”, but you can’t hide an awl in a bag.

Meizu MX4

If in previous cases one can still talk about some “accidents”, “creative rethinking” (or I still like a win-win option - I didn’t figure it out and “it seemed to me”), then Meizu acted just like handsome men, making the front panel of their Meizu MX4 is as similar as possible (up to the exact copying of the color scheme) to the iPhone 6. Even the hardware key was made round. And look at the sidewalls - well, isn't it worthy of some order named Ctrl C + Ctrl V? Or at least a diploma named after two designers with a pencil and a sheet of paper?

Fly Tornado Slim

Speaking about Fly Tornado Slim, we, of course, mean its Chinese manufacturer - the Gionee Elife S5.1 model, which ended up in the Guinness Book of Records due to its record-breaking small thickness. And although rear panel It may also not cause you to associate with Apple products, the ends of the device unmistakably indicate where the designers of this device drew inspiration.

Texet iX-maxi

But the device sold in Russia under the name Texet iX-maxi came closest to the original. On the website of the manufacturer / distributor, its design is simply and bluntly called “trend”. There is a suspicion that from a distance of a couple of meters (especially if you use a case or cover the Texet logo with your hand), an inexperienced person can easily confuse the device with the iPhone 6. What buyers will shamelessly use on the eve of February 14th. This turned out to be a good “anti-crisis” proposal for the market.

P.S. Instead of an epilogue and morality, I propose to discuss in the comments the similarity of the upcoming Nokia N1 tablet with the latest iPad Mini 3.

12-th of September Apple company introduced the anniversary iPhone X with a frameless 5.8-inch screen, Face ID facial recognition and a dual camera with optical zoom. The price starts from $ 1,000, the novelty will cost the Russians at least 79,990 rubles. Between iPhone themes X is not the only smartphone with this design. Lifehacker found 10 more "frameless", and they are all cheaper.

1. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+

South Korean flagships samsung galaxy S8 and S8 + are equipped with screens of 5.8 and 6.2 inches, respectively. The side frames are completely absent, and the edges are smoothly rounded. Let there be no dual camera with optical zoom, but in terms of security, smartphones are no less worthy than: they can identify the owner by the iris of the eye. There is also face recognition, but the camera works according to a two-dimensional algorithm, without taking into account depth, and therefore the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + can be unlocked with a photo.

The official price and S8 + - 54,990 and 59,990 rubles, respectively.

Popular Samsung phablet Galaxy Note 2017 also got a borderless screen, but with a diagonal of 6.3 inches. And the edges are not as steep as those of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +, because there should be room for the S Pen in the case. The camera has become double, there is a 2x optical zoom. The security features are the same as in the "eights": an iris scanner and an unreliable face recognition system.

The official price in Russia is 69,990 rubles.

3.LG G6

Unfortunately, the flagship LG G6 was deprived of popular attention, although the phrase "got a solid screen before it became mainstream" is about him. There is a 5.7-inch Quad HD Plus FullVision display with Dolby Vision and HDR10 technologies and an aspect ratio of 18: 9, but LG chose an IPS matrix, and therefore it became impossible to get rid of the side frames by bending the panel.

Dual camera The LG G6 includes wide and standard lenses with 125° and 71° angles respectively. Facial recognition is there, but LG warns: “The feature provides less protection for the phone compared to other methods, such as graphic key, PIN code, password and fingerprint".

The official price of LG G6 in Russia is 39,990 rubles.

LG equipped the V30 flagship with a 6-inch P-OLED screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9, however, as in the G6, it did not round off the edges and remove the side frames. Notably, the LG V30 is smaller in size than the OnePlus 5 with a conventional 5.5-inch 16:9 display.

The dual camera is created according to the same logic as the G6. One lens is 120° wide-angle and the other is 71° wide-angle. And the camera is so cool that David Franco, director of photography of Game of Thrones, took part in the presentation of the smartphone.

There are no security innovations here.

The start of sales in South Korea is scheduled for September 21. Then the smartphone will go to North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The price is expected to be around $700 - about 40,000 rubles.

The mysterious smartphone from the "father of Android" Andy Rubin, without any announcement, appeared in American online stores in early August. Attention is drawn to the 5.71-inch LTPS-screen almost the entire front panel. The integrity is violated by the front camera, but after the iPhone X with its “ears”, it will be strange to scold the designers of the Essential Phone.

The smartphone is equipped with a dual camera: one color, the other monochrome. The tandem is designed to increase the amount of light received by 200% compared to "traditional" cameras, the developers say. About the security features, except for the fingerprint scanner, nothing is said.

Pre-order price - $699, delivery is promised in 1-2 months.

The images of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 are breathtaking. On them, he is really frameless! However, life is not like that. Yes, a 6-inch IPS screen with a ratio of 18: 9 seems to occupy 93% of the front panel, there is no earpiece. But there are frames, moreover, side ones and, contrary to Xiaomi's statement, not much less than the iPhone 7 Plus.

The camera of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is traditional “one-eyed”, but on a Sony IMX386 sensor and with optical stabilization. Xiaomi did not bother with protective equipment.

The price in the maximum configuration in the Chinese market is 3,999 yuan (about 35,000 rubles).

GSMArena.com

Xiaomi claims that the huge 6.4-inch screen is spread over 91.3% of the front panel, but measurements showed that no more than 84%. In general, it's also good. The edges are not rounded, and therefore there are still small frames.

The camera is average, on the sensor from OmniVision and without optical image stabilization. Face recognition using neural networks, machine learning and an infrared camera? Of course not!

In the top configuration, it will cost between 35-40 thousand rubles.

SZ LifeStyle/AliExpress.com

Once upon a time, it was Sharp that released the first truly bezel-less smartphone, and the tradition continues. The Sharp Aquos 2 is a mid-ranger with a 5.5-inch 4K screen that covers 87.5% of the bezel and has a small cutout for the selfie camera on top. The main camera is double, and the second module is needed solely to simulate the bokeh effect. Security is entrusted to the fingerprint scanner.

Inexpensive novelty from the Chinese manufacturer. The world's first 6-inch smartphone with an 18:9 borderless display and a 5100 mAh battery. There is also a dual camera - the second module allows you to blur the background. The fingerprint scanner is responsible for security.

The price of UmiDigi S2 on pre-order is only 229.99 dollars (about 13,000 rubles), shipping starts after October 11th.

The cheapest smartphone in the selection and at the same time the most dubious. The manufacturer has moved the 5.5-inch display to the top as much as possible, which creates the feeling of a frameless design - but there are still frames. The dual camera with bokeh effect is here for show: it shoots disgustingly. The archaic home button has a fingerprint scanner.

The price is about 11,000 rubles.
