Separately, it should be noted that Lenovo offers to purchase two interesting accessories for this model: Battery Xtension and Hi-Fi Xtension. The first of these is a replaceable battery that allows you to double the autonomy of the novelty with a minor thickening of the housing (5.1 mm). The second accessory will have to do music lovers. It is HI-FI JBL speakers (Bluetooth connection), which in the mounted form increase the thickness of the smartphone by 8.3 mm and can play the role of the stand.

Appearance, location of elements

If you look only at the front panel of the smartphone, it creates the impression that we have an ordinary rigorous rectangle with rounded corners. But with a more detailed examination of Lenovo VIBE X2, you can notice the unusual multilayer edging, which resembles a kind of rainbow (especially in bright performance), section of the mineral rock or leaf cake with smooth transitions of gradients. The main tone is set by the color of the rear panel, which can be white, gold, red or dark gray.

There are only three such separate multi-colored layers, and the fourth is always black (panel with screen and protective glass). In addition, he is somewhat already thinner than others. In practice, such a solution looks very interesting and extraordinary, which is pleasantly allocating a novelty against the background of its monophonic competitors. In addition, thanks to a small thickness (7.27 mm) and weight (120 g), the device looks rather slim.

The front side of the smartphone (without any inscriptions and logos) is assigned to the display, which is covered with a strong protective glass. By contour, it has barely noticeable sides, which a little lifting the screen over a smooth surface. The width of the frame around the display is 3 mm on the sides and 15 mm from above and below.

Above the display is: Conversational speaker, sensors of approximation and lighting, front chamber eye and event indicator (control item is present in the settings). The last, in the presence of calls or alerts, flashes green, in the process of charging - red, and when the battery is charged - green is lit. The screen is characterized by wide viewing angles with minimal deviation of colors with a diagonal view. The image boasts natural colors with the right level of saturation and sufficient contrast, which allows you to get a really realistic picture. Screen brightness can be changed manually or use automatic adjustment. The maximum level is quite enough (especially in high brightness mode) to work with information in a bright sunny day. The minimum indicator is quite comfortable for work in darkness. The approximation sensor blocks the screen when making a smartphone to the ear.

As in past branded flagship devices, there is the possibility of manual adjustment of color temperature and saturation according to its own taste, applying finished profiles or using automation. It should be noted that the backlight brightness varies not only on the level of external lighting, but also from the brightness of the image itself on the screen, which is not always comfortable for the eyes.

As mentioned, Lenovo VIBE X2 is equipped with only one multimedia speaker, which is located at the bottom of the back side of the case. The volume level is quite high, which is quite enough for a comfortable execution of most everyday scenarios (watching video, games and hands-free). The sound itself is also good: low, well-detailed medium and adequate high frequencies are felt. In any case, you can use the universal audio connector (mini-jack 3.5 mm) and connect headphones or external acoustics. Or to buy the Hi-Fi Xtension brand accessory, which was mentioned above.

A regular player is a Google Music, whose settings are presented in the form of pre-created equalizer profiles. Complete vacuum type headphones are characterized by a clear sound (there is a whole frequency range) with a sufficient volume level. They cope well with their direct responsibilities and do not cause desire to immediately replace them with something else, which will save some funds to the future owner.

The sound in extraneous headphones was checked on the game (impedance of 60 ohms) and vacuum Vivanco HS 200 WT (impedance of 16 ohms). In both cases, the sound is pleasant and balanced, and the volume level is sufficient, even with some reserve.

The photos obtained from the main module are characterized by a pleasant transmission of colors with natural saturation and a good level of detail, but their quality is highly dependent on the level of illumination. On the examples of the detached material, it can be noted that even in minor shadows there is a rather aggressive operation of a noise reduction system that shuts the minor details. A good output from this situation is to use the HDR mode to help pull out the shadows from the image. Video filming also pleased with good details and smoothness of the picture (a good implementation of the digital stabilization system). It should be noted that the entire footage is obtained in cloudy weather. Up to more favorable conditions, the result will be significantly better.

The main menu of camera settings visually looks pretty concise and at the same time beautiful. It has a good functionality, and also provides easy access to controls that are on the usual places. You can independently configure the aspect ratio, white balance, flash mode, shooting mode, additional lines, resolution and ISO value (100 - 1600) . Hardware platform and performance

The basis of Lenovo Vibe X2 is used by one of the newest single-grillers (SOC) - MediaTek MT6595M. It is built on the basis of the progressive version of the 28-nm HPM-microarchitecture ARM Big.little and includes 4 productive Arm Cortex-A17 cores with a clock frequency of up to 2 GHz and 4 energy efficient Arm Cortex-A7 cores with a clock frequency of 1.69 GHz. The volume of L2 cache is 2 MB. In this processor, the technology of intelligent management of the work of the cores - MediaTek Corepilot, which provides the balance between performance and low power consumption. That is, with a minimum load, only one kernel will be active (for example, in standby mode), and with the need of maximum performance (for example, in 3D games), all eight nuclei are involved. In addition, the dynamic frequency of the core varies depending on the needs. The IT PowerVR 6200 solution is used as embedded graphics - two clusters (kernels) with a maximum clock frequency of 450 MHz. It received support for OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.1 and Direct3D 10.

The amount of RAM is 2 GB, and a constant - 32 GB, of which 25.12 GB is available to the user. It is impossible to expand this space, since there is no memory card support. It will not be possible to connect an external USB media due to the lack of USB OTG support this platform.

The performance of Lenovo VIBE X2 is at the level of modern flagship devices, as evidenced by the top lines of all current benchmarks. The test results are comparable to solutions based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801/805 and Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5433. The smartphone without problems copes not only with the smooth operation of the OS and its programs, but also with any modern demanding games. For example, popular projects such as Dead Trigger 2 and Asphalt 8: Airborne work as smoothly as possible with high graphics settings. Yes, and more demanding, on the manner of Modern Combat 5 and World of Tanks Blitz, reproduce without visible failures in the FPS. From the tested games only sometimes slowed down GTA: San Andreas, although very rarely. After a long maximum load, the novelty housing is tangible heats up, but not critical, and it does not affect the comfort. Under normal working conditions, the smartphone is barely warm, and it is not always.

Its activation leaves only phone calls and SMS available, and the remaining functions are turned off, which allows you to almost double the time of the smartphone from the battery. In addition, the manufacturer offers to purchase a Battery Xtension invoicing battery that double the battery capacity and thereby increase the battery life.

As a result of viewing HD-video (MPEG-4 / AVC, MKV container, a stream 4 Mbps) with 50% of the brightness of the display and the included Wi-Fi modules and the GPS device was discharged in 6.5 hours. In addition, the manufacturer equipped his creation by one of the most modern MediaTek MT6595M processors, which, in terms of performance, can extend with current flagship devices based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801/805 and Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5433, excellent 5-inch Full HD IPS-display with maximum viewing angles and natural colors, as well as current digital chamber modules (5 MP and 13 MP), which can boast a good quality of the resulting content. Additionally, there is support for all modern mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G) and the necessary communications (Bluetooth 3.0 + 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS, GLONASS), which are properly functioning. All this is supplemented with a high-quality software component, which is still represented by the current version of Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, which is installed on which the branded shell Lenovo Launcher V6.0 is installed. It has a pleasant and colorful view with flexible personalization capabilities and high enough functionality.

To ensure autonomous operation, there is a non-removable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 2300 mA. Taking into account the excellent performance of the hardware platform and the display characteristics, the high autonomy indicators with active regular use should not be counting. The manufacturer took into account such a situation and offers an interesting accessory - Battery Xtension (replaceable battery in the form of a patch cover), which allows you to double the battery life of the device. It should also be noted another accessory - Hi-Fi Xtension, which is overhead speakers that additionally play the role of the stand.

Among the disadvantages, it is possible to note the lack of support for memory cards and the USB OTG specification, but given the amount of integrated memory (32 GB), it should not be particularly worried about it.

With my scenario, Lenovo X2 worked on average until the evening, that is, until 19-21 hours. The indicators are far from the best on the market, by the time of work, the smartphone is comparable to last year's flagships, they also "lived" until the evening when loaded, but for a full day, until night, they were usually lacking.

Is there a problem or not? If you choose a smartphone for active use: music, cinema, permanent internet and so on - then, probably, 8-10 hours of work will not be enough, in this case, you can buy an external battery to the device or look towards other models.


With a Case-battery, Lenovo Vibe X2 becomes a fluff and heavier, but in general, it still remains compact and convenient due to the fact that without this accessory the model is very easy and thin.
