To determine the regional popularity of any search query in the Yandex Wordstat service, there is a tool "by regions". This is how the elements of its interface look like:

  • Region switch (1). You can choose everything in a row, only regions or only cities.
  • Switch for the display option (2). You can view popularity or in the form of a table with data (list), or in the form of an interactive card.
  • The total number of shows on the specified request (3). By the way, in the example of the same request - "Inner Perelinovka". And now again another digit - 1663. I think you know why.
  • Number of shots per month (4). The number of appeals of the specified request for each region (city).
  • Regional popularity (5). This is the proportion of the region (city) in shows in the desired phrase, divided by all the shows of the search results that came to this region.

By interpretation of the last value, the Wordstat service gives such a recommendation:

  • \u003d 100% - the request in this region is not highlighted;
  • < 100% — интерес региона по запросу пониженный;
  • \u003e 100% - the interest of the region on request is elevated.

This tool is most often useful in two cases - to determine the semantic kernel of the commercial site and to select the keys of the advertising campaign. For information sites and blogs, regional popularity is rarely used.

Request History Tool

Statistics VORDSTAT gives another useful information -. Thanks to this information, the user can see the dynamics of the popularity of the phrase during the year. You will learn more about this from the following post "How to use seasonal requests". In the meantime, let's see from which elements the interface of this tool is:

  • Measurement unit switch (1). It allows you to see the dynamics of popularity by months and weeks.
  • Schedule Changes in the popularity of the request (2). Two graphics change absolute and relative values.
  • Measurement scale (3). Depending on the selected unit, the division of the scale changes (appear when hovering on schedules).
  • Absolute value (4). The number of search requests for the specified gap on the scale.
  • Relative value (5). The indicator provides information on how much the forecast (absolute value) differs from reality.

Service operators "Selection of words"

In order for working in the service of the Yandex statistics, it was not delayed for a long time and was more accurate, there are a number of auxiliary operators. All of them are used only in the "on request" tool and are entered in the field of water search phrase. Consider each operator separately.

Minus (-)

The operator is designed to exclude from the list of requests of unnecessary words (the so-called "minus words"). Used B. different casesMost often to search for queries for commercial projects. For example, compare the left columns of the Vordstat at the request of "Internal Perelinka". In the first case, the usual phrase, in the second - requests with the word "page" are excluded:

I note that we minus the word "page" in the example. As a result, Vordstat eliminated all the words with any case.

Plus (+)

With the help of the "Plus" operator, we will force an indication of the service to check the query with pretexts and unions (without this operator they are excluded). Here is an example of this operator:

As we can see from the example, in the first case, the number of requests with the phrase "how to cook omelet from eggs" was the largest - 712. This is the same if we gained a request in Vordstat - "Prepare Omelet Eggs." In the second case, the number of requests has become less, since we wanted to see them, taking into account the pretext of "out". In the third they became even less - the word "how" appeared.

In the default vordstat when you enter a request without pluses in the left column, a value is provided with the pluses:

The plus operator is important when we need to know the popularity of requests with all the pretexts and alliances. This often happens when selecting keywords, for example, for online stores.

Or Grouping | ()

Operator "or" allows you to collect search queries whose words can have a different writing, but same value. For example, we need all requests for creating omelet dishes. To do this, we will take the assembly of three identical words of phrases:

As a result, in the left column, we will receive all requests for these three phrases.

The same task can be solved if you use the "Group" operator. In this case, we will not need to write three times the word "omelet":

So, the operator "or" allows us to indicate in the desired phrase options for some words. If there are several words with options, "Grouping" is used. As a result, the maximum possible selection of requests is obtained. For example:

Quotes (""), exclamation mark (!)

Using this operatorWhen counting requests for the left column, the Wordstat will consider shows only this phrase. When counting, various phrase word will also be taken into account, as well as different order of words. For example, this is what statistics will offer us a Vordstat on request "Spring Drops":

The Operator "Exclamation Sign" takes into account shows in the form of the word we indicated, without any changes (various word formations are not taken into account):

A little remark - an exclamation mark is put immediately before the word, the gap between the operator "!" And the word is not put.

Accurate query frequency

IN search promotion A joint bunch of these operators is used. The number of shots of the desired phrase with these operators is called the "accurate frequency (frequency) of the request":

With this constructing the desired phrase using these operators, we can calculate requests that cannot be changed both the request itself and its wordforms (for example, the end). This will allow us to consider the snippet clickability to give an exemplary number of hits of the progressable page on this request in Yandex (depending on the place occupied in the top).

That is why, when drawing up the semantic kernel, we draw attention to the exact frequency of the request.

Thanks to special operators, we can find out the requests and the number of their shows in virtually any of our requirements in Vordstat. For example, we need requests for the formulation of pancakes with such restrictions:

  • in queries should be the words "recipe" and "prepare";
  • we take different options for the type of dish (pancakes, pancakes);
  • in queries there is no ingredient "Milk";
  • we want requests to make the exact word "kefir".

It does not happen in all phrases and as a rule, it includes those requests that were recruited when searching for the main phrase.

For various subjects of sites from this scheme, the tools "Query History" and "By Regions" can fall out. There are also some differences in the use of the Wordstat service for information and commercial resources.
