Essential TV Belarus. Essential television

(Project Manager Vladimir Yakush) On August 5 published an article, which thematically continues the performance on July 31 on the same topic "Belarusian news": I am pleased to reproduce the publication of a reputable colleague on an actual topic.

The full transition of Belarusian television on digital broadcasting (DVB-T) will take place after 5 and a half years, but many viewers are already interested today, they will not have to change their old TVs and buy new - digital.

Why does he generally need this transition to "digit"?

Digital television It has a lot of advantages over analog (usual). The main thing is high quality Images and sound. Digital TV also makes it possible to transmit high-resolution images (HDTV) with multichannel sound (as in the cinema).

Digital television, in contrast to the analog, is almost not affected by interference. Where "ordinary" TV "Caught" is bad, with interference, digital signal TV will take excellent quality. Confident reception of the signal is possible even on the lower floors of buildings. The main thing is that the antenna can catch at least a reflected signal. The direct visibility of the transmitting tower is not needed. These qualities make digital broadcasting ideal for remote regions and villages.

The digital broadcast format allows you to broadcast several programs on one channel. If the "analog" is one program for one channel at the same time, the MPEG-4 format adopted for digital broadcasting in Belarus - up to 8 programs on each of them.

In Europe, a complete refusal to the analog broadcasting in favor of the digital has already been carried out by 7 countries, and their number is growing all the time.

Belarus is focused on MPEG-4 compression format (newer), and European countries are still on MPEG-2. The fact is that in the European Union the development of digital television has begun much earlier, and at that time they had no alternative - only MPEG-2. However, in any case, they will have to go to MPEG-4 (or other relevant at that time format), since MPEG-2 does not allow you to transmit high definition of HDTV.

In Minsk, MPEG-2 format in test mode was used since 2005 and until recently - today the transmitters have already been removed. However, already 2 years after the start of the experimental broadcast of the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Communications was decided to organize a broadcasting in a more relevant format of MPEG-4, a complete transition to which will be held in December 2015.

Having the opportunity to move "for locomotive", Belarus was in a more profitable position, oriented on more technological and more modern standards.

Can I watch digital television in Belarus today?

Currently, digital broadcasting in MPEG-4 format in Belarus is already being conducted. True, while in a very "trimmed form".

Today there are 14 tips on the territory of the republic, and 97 needed for "full-fledged" broadcasting.

In the "digit" parallel to the analog signal, 8 programs are broadcast - this is still not enough to meet the needs of the modern viewer. Until 2015, digital broadcasting will develop gradually, displacing analog.

You have to try digital TV already now there is such an opportunity. The market presents a certain number of receivers, worth $ 80-100.

Is it possible to buy a TV that receives a digital signal today?

TVs equipped with a digital tuner are easy to find in Belarus. However, when the manufacturer mentions the presence of a digital tuner in a particular model, in the overwhelming majority, it means MPEG-2 - the standard currently operating in most countries of Western Europe, but is irrelevant today for Belarus.

This applies to both foreign manufacturers of Philips, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and Horizont.

Horizont, unlike foreign manufacturers, even before the full transition of Belarusian television to a new broadcast format will be able to offer the widest model line of televisions and consoles, which includes options that can satisfy the most demanding and most economical buyers. In a few years, the Belarusian manufacturer will produce exclusively digital and "hybrid" analog-to-digital models.

In the meantime, MPEG-4 is a high cost of components capable of providing a significant effect on the price of the product. Now such a "option" is comparable to the TV in terms of cost with the price of the middle kinescopic TV.

However, it is already possible to predict a gradual decline in the cost of the respective components.

Old TV will have to throw away?

Only in case it is at all old TV (15-20 years) - lamp receivers have long been a place in the landfill.

You should not be afraid to buy analog televisions today, looking into a fairly distant 2015 year. The transition to the "digit" in Belarus will be gradual.

And by that time, most likely, you just want to exchange the TV today to a more modern model, which will be configured by MPEG-4 decoder.

And even if not - no problems will arise. With the final transition of television broadcasting in Belarus to the digital format, it will only be enough for you to buy a console to TV, the price of which by the time forecasts will be about 25 dollars.

At the same time, today it is discussed by the possibility of providing socially unprotected segments of the population. digital consoles. No one should stay without television.

That is quite often in the column "TV-tuner" we can see the following notation: analog, DVB-C, DVB-T, DVB-T2, in some models, the DVB-S / S2 standard is additionally detected. What is it for what you need and what does it affect? Let's deal with.

TV-tuner is a type of radio, which is designed for receiving a television signal of various standards. All existing television broadcasting standards at the moment can be divided into 2 types: analog and digital. DVB abbreviation (Digital Video Broadcasting) are marked with digital.

Thus, the overwhelming majority of modern TVs can receive and process both analog signal and various standards Digital. The difference is determined by the ability to transmit a signal with a certain resolution and frame rate per second (FPS).

Outdated television standards (analog)

With an analog signal, everything is simple. In the 20th century, several analog television formats were used at the dawn of color television: NTSC, PAL and SECAM.

NTSC - became the first official standard of color television. It happened in the USA in 1953. NTSC was "sharpened" under the screen resolution of 720x480 pixels and frequency of 30 frames per second. Such parameters were chosen exclusively due to the fact that in the United States the frequency of industrial power grids is 60 Hz. This type of analog signal has become basic for the countries of the North American continent and Japan.

SECAM.appeared in 1956 in France. Here, the characteristics were somewhat different. The signal provided for the resolution of 720x576 and the frequency of 25 frames per second. The standard current frequency in European power grids is 50 Hz, which is why he had such parameters. SECAM was adopted as a reference for the Soviet Union, first, because it corresponded to Soviet industrial standards, and secondly because France provided equipment for broadcasting and favorable conditions when buying a license.

PAL There was an alternative to the SECAM signal in 1967 in Germany. It was also "sharpened" under the resolution of 720x576 and the frequency of 25 frames per second. All European countries except France and the Soviet Union adopted this standard as the basic and used them until the end of the 20th century.

Modern televisions that are produced for the European Region are without any problems process PAL and SECAM signals, and if you bought a TV in the USA, then theoretically there may be problems and will have to buy a special adapter.

However, the era of analog broadcasting almost went into the past, and worry about compatibility is hardly worth it. It is enough to remember that the "analog" designation in Europe means support for PAL and SECAM signals.

As a rule, on the labeling of the TV can always be understood for which region it is intended.

Digital television standards

Digital television has become an analog in recent years of the 20th century. As in the case of analog standards, there is also a regional separation for digital.

  • ATSC.- Designed in the USA, used in the countries of North America
  • ISDB.- Designed in Japan, used in the countries of the Pacific and South America
  • DTMB.- Digital Television Standard, which is used only in China
  • DMB.- Korean standard of digital television
  • DVB - Designed in Europe, the most popular standard (used in 270 countries)

ATSC. appeared in 1996 in the United States and was called to replace analog NTSC. Actually, his feature is that it is adapted to the frequency of broadcasting 60 Hz. Within the framework of the standard, satellite, cable and essential broadcasting are maintained. The technical capabilities of the ATSC are slightly wider than other digital standards. In particular, it is able to provide six-channel audio broadcasting (5.1)

ISDB. - Japanese standard, which is adopted as the basic in Japan and South America. Supports satellite, essential, cable and satellite broadcasting for mobile devices.

DTMB.- standard of ethereal and mobile broadcasting, is currently used only in China

DMB. - Experimental standard, affordable residents of South Korea and Japan. In addition to satellite, cable and ethereal broadcasts, supports satellite mobile broadcast. Multimedia content can be obtained directly from the satellite to the tablet or mobile phone.

DVB-T and DVBT-2 standards

Initially, the DVB digital broadcast standard was created for satellite broadcasting, but later the DVB versions for cable, ethereal and later for satellite mobile broadcast appeared. Now there are the following options for the DVB standard.

  • DVB-T and DVB-T2 - Essential group, the signal is accepted by the usual antenna
  • DVB-C. - Standard Broadcasting for Cable Networks
  • DVB-S and DVB-S2 - Satellite broadcast standards
  • DVB-H. - satellite standard for mobile devices

In 2015, in Russia and Belarus, a final transition from the auxilian analog broadcast was held on digital. The basis of the DVB-T2 standard was adopted. Most modern TV models support DVB-T and DVB-T2 standards, that is, the signal is capable of processing the signal that is received by the usual antenna.

The second version of the standard is improved. Expanded the maximum possible capacity of the broadcasting network and improved other technical parameters. In Russia and Belarus, the second version of the standard was adopted solely due to the fact that the transition to it took place after the first morally outdated. In Europe, Africa and Australia, for example, still the basic standard of digital broadcasting is DVB-T (blue on the map).

By the way, signals are incompatible. That is, if you assume that your TV is capable of processing only the DVB-T signal, in Belarus, the usual antenna will not receive the ether television.

What if the tuner for some reason is not adapted to the reception of the DVB signal or the old TV does not at all support digital television? Buy Digital TV receiver with antenna output (TV console). It is worth it inexpensive, so there should be no serious problems.

DVB-C standard

DVB-C is the European Digital Cable Television Standard. Supported by almost all models of modern TVs intended for implementation in Europe. The tuner with this standard is able to correctly process the signal that uses cable television providers.

True it is worth remembering that some cable networks or individual channels can be encoded. In the contract when connecting cable TV, such nuances are always spelled out. For decoding, the special card may additionally need it, which is inserted into the CAM module or in the Digital TV receiver. You can get it at the cable TV operator.

DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards

How to set up satellite TV? The fact is that the processing of signals of satellite standards broadcasting DVB-S and DVB-S2 is not provided in all modern TVs. If you intend to watch satellite channels, pay attention to which parameters are indicated in the "Tuner" column. If the standards of the group s are indicated, it means to view satellite television You will need only a special card from the provider (in the CAM module) and connecting to the satellite plate. To customize the channels of satellite TV will not be easy. If the TV standards of the group s does not support, it means that the receiver will be needed to view satellite channels (special console).

DVB-S2 is an improved version of the standard, it is technically different from outdated DVB-S. When connecting satellite television, pay attention to the standard of the satellite signal from which you are going to receive channels. Technical parameters are always listed in the documentation.

DVB-H Standard

DVB-H is the European Television Standard for Mobile Devices. It is a logical continuation of the DVB-T standard, but not used in stationary technique. The tuner of the usual TV is unlikely to be adapted to the receipt of such a signal, so it is in specifications When choosing a TV, this standard is useless. For broadcasting and receiving a DVB-H signal, technologies are used that are designed to save battery charge mobile device. In the CIS countries in experimental mode, the DVB-H signal is broadcast only at some areas of Moscow and for Belarus is not relevant yet.

What is important to consider when choosing a TV?

The first thing that is important to pay attention is the region for which the model is intended. As mentioned above, it is possible to figure out this on the model marking. American TVs will definitely add you problems when connected. Models adapted to the Asian region (Japan, Korea) will be very likely to be configured to receive an ISDB signal signal, and not DVB.

There will be no such problems if the TV model is certified for implementation in the CIS countries. But if you are invited to buy a confiscated smuggled product or, for example, a TV decided to send uncle from America, carefully study the characteristics.

The second thing is important to pay attention - this is the ability of the tuner to process signals of DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards. As already mentioned, not every television model, even from serious brands like Samsung, LG or Sony, is able to receive the signal of this group of standards.

Well, if additional questions arise, you can always ask them to specialists from our call center. You will help you choose the best TV or will be prompting which Digital TV receiver is best acquired if problems arose. Phones at the top of the page.

The digital television of Belarus is developing accelerated pace. The entire territory of Belarus is covered with a digital ether signal. Currently, the air intake is the easiest way to obtain digital television programs.

The main perspectives of the digital ether signal are obvious:

  • installing antenna with minimal costs, once installed and no longer need to pay;
  • connecting multiple TVs to one antenna with standard wiring;
  • setup and further operation does not require extensive costs and subscription fee;
  • installation is possible on its own forces on the wall of the house or on the roof.

W. the etheric antenna becomes the possibility of receiving more than 8 free Channels. Recall that a complete transition to digital broadcasting broadcast was carried out on May 15, 2015, when an analogue aircraft television broadcasting in the decimeter wave range was discontinued on the last 10 facilities, including on the main radio television transmission station of the country in koditsa.

The quality of receiving a television signal depends on various factors. Such factors are: the location of the object in relation to the coating zone of the transmitting station, the terrain, the landscape features of the surrounding landscape, etc. That is, all that when receiving can affect the level of the received signal, as well as screen the place of reception.

So, if the place of reception is at a considerable distance from the station, or if the place of reception is fallen by hills or forest, then you have to use more powerful antennas or use amplifiers.

DVB-T digital television coverage area in Belarus

At the moment, in Belarus 91 acting radio transmission center (drawing from below). The most powerful in Mogilev. The weakest in Liozino, Vitebsk region. All these stations are broadcast 8 channels in DVB-T format. Coverage area digital DVB-T Signal 98.59%. The card shows the calculated area of \u200b\u200bthe coating for antennas installed on a height of 10 meters.

Selection of receiving antenna

The receiving antenna is a device designed to effectively receive radio waves, it converts the energy of the electromagnetic field at a given point in a high-frequency radio signal and directs it to coaxial cable. Only a well-chosen, correctly installed and oriented antenna provides confident (good) reception of digital TV signals.

For receiving digital TV signals in Belarus, receiving antennas are used, operating in the range of 21 - 60 channels. All antennas that previously worked with analog broadcasting is impossible. The antennas of the meter wave range and the "Polish" antennas with the signal amplifier will not work!

The larger the distance to the transmitting station, the more with a large gain must be an antenna. To receive nearby powerful stations (distances up to 20-30 km), there is enough antenna with a strengthening of 12-15 dB. If the distance to the received powerful station exceeds 20-30 km or the reception conditions are difficult (hills, forest, high buildings, etc.), then an adopted antenna should be used with an amplification of at least 17DB. This corresponds to approximately doubling the value of the received signal. In general, the rule applies that, the greater the antenna of the elements, the greater its strengthening, the already its radiation diagram and the better it weakens the interference, increasing the signal-to-noise ratio of the received signal, that is, as if enhancing it.

It follows from this that the antenna with a large number of elements and a narrow pattern of the orientation should be oriented to the station very carefully, since even 5 degrees to the left-to-right antenna turn, the level of the received signal is already much changed.

Under some conditions, indoor antennas can be used to receive digital TV. Since a very strong signal is needed to work for the room antenna, they can be used only in close proximity to the transmitting stations, usually at distances not exceeding 10 km. In addition to the above, the antenna is also affected by the elevation of the antenna in relation to the level of land (height of the reception point, floor in a multi-storey house, positioning it in the room, the material of the house, etc.).

The best place to install such an antenna is the place located near the window emerging towards the transmitting station, the antenna should be positioned as high as possible. With this arrangement, the impact on the reception of the movement of people around the room is minimal.

Installing the receiving antenna

Before installing an antenna, make sure that the reception point has a value of the required level. When installing an antenna, shifting it vertically and horizontally, achieve the best reception. In places of critical reception, this can give an additional increase in the signal level. If the roof fails to find places with satisfactory receiving conditions, you can search for it in the site. The recommended height of the outdoor antenna installation is at least 10 m from the ground level. As a rule, the higher the antenna is installed, the stronger the received signal.

The antenna should be sent towards the nearest station and, smoothly turns it to the left / right horizontally, to achieve on the level indicator and quality displayed on the screen of the television receiver (it is convenient to do it in mode manual search Station) maximum received signal. Turn the antenna every time about 2-5 degrees, waiting for the resulting result. After finding the exact direction to the station, you can try in small limits to shift the antenna up / down, again achieving the best signal. We advise you to do it all without an antenna amplifier in the tract. If you want to receive several multiplexes, we recommend to do this operation for the highest frequency of them.

The use of an antenna amplifier is justified only after all other measures have been taken to obtain the maximum possible signal, that is, an antenna is installed with an amplification of at least 17-18 dB, the optimal place and the height of its installation is selected, and there is an unstable, but Taki reservation stations.

Features of the settings of televisions and digital receivers

    Connect the antenna cable from the digital essential antenna to the TV or Tuner;

    To connect, use connectors of the F-dad connectors (the cable is not recommended);

    Turn on the search for the DVB-T DVB-T or DVB-T2 Essential Signal in automatic or manual mode;

For manual setting You must specify the channel number and its frequency.

If a message appears as a result of automatic search that no program is found, then the reasons for this may be:

  • - the antenna is not intended to receive decimeter channels;
  • - the antenna has a small gain coefficient;
  • - the antenna is directed by the transmitting station;
  • - the height of the antenna is insufficient;
  • - Antenna amplifier (if any) does not receive nutrition or faulty.

With manual configuration, you must specify the channel number and its frequency.

When installing an antenna, it is necessary to achieve such a stock on the received signal to be obtained so that when it is reduced, caused by the change in the conditions of passage (weather, change of the season, the time of day, superfits, etc.), the value of the received signal would always ensure confident reception. This condition is performed if on all channels of the received multiplexes, the digital receiver signal level indicator shows at least 70 - 80%.

Formation of software packages

In ground digital TV, various programs are "packaged" in the so-called multiplexes. Each multiplex is then transmitted to ether at a frequency of one of the decimeter TV channels.

Currently, three multiplexes are transmitted in the Republic of Belarus. The first multiplex (mandatory publicly available package of programs) includes 8 television programs ("Belarus 1", "ONT", "STTV", "Mir", "RTR-Belarus", "NTV-Belarus", Belarus 2, " Belarus 3 ") And one radio program (" The first National Channel of the Belarusian Radio ").

To view the Belarus 5 TV channel, which is transmitted as part of the 2nd multiplex in the unfinished form, it is necessary to have a DVB-T2 digital tuner. In this regard, it is recommended to purchase the DVB-T2 standard tuner to view the entire public program package.

The second and third multiplexes consist of 18 television programs. With automatic search, the channels of the second and third multiplexes will be presented in the encoded form. To ensure the reception of encoded channels, it is necessary to conclude a contract, while issuing a digital tuner is free. Additional information about commercial digital television can be obtained at www.zala.by.
