Many people who have a plasma TV and a regular laptop are thinking about how to connect a laptop to a TV. This simple method saves a significant amount of money. For many, this combination replaces the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Others just enjoy watching a good movie on the big screen in the evening with friends. Some people are better off having a picture on TV because of their professional activities. Regardless of the purpose for which users need a laptop-to-TV combination, there are several ways that can accomplish this task. The most optimal of these is the HDMI connection.

HDMI connection

To make a connection via HDMI, you only need to have one thing - a cable, on both ends of which there will be HDMI inputs. It looks something like the one shown in Figure # 1.

After that, one input is connected to the HDMI connector of the computer, and the other to the connector of the TV. Almost all TVs that came out in the last 5 years have such a connector. The S-Video interface can also be categorized as "dinosaurs". There can be just a huge number of connection options in this case - from HDMI or VGA to S-Video or tulip and vice versa.

There are many adapters that do just this simple task. For example, in Figure 8.a you can see an adapter from VGA to one tulip input (just the one that is needed for a TV set) and S-Video. Figure 8.b shows the same option, only in the form of the plugs themselves, and not in one block.

The most convenient for today is the adapter, which is shown in the figure №8.в. There are three inputs for the tulip and one for S-Video, and on the other end there is an HDMI input. The latter option has the most chances to make money on any, even not very new, TV.

Actually, if the TV does not have HDMI and VGA connectors, the tulip version looks perfect. To connect, you will need the tulip cable itself and one of the adapters presented above.

This option is somewhat more complicated than the previous ones. But for the user, in principle, everything is the same - there is a cable, there are connectors, it is possible to connect two devices through an adapter. True, here we are talking about a USB-HDMI adapter. Yes, there are regular cables with USB ports on both ends. But they most likely won't work when you connect your computer to your TV.
