In the "Content" section, set "Content Aware" so that Photoshop continues the background of the image as discreetly as possible. Click OK. After that go to the "Selection" section and select "Deselect". Ready.

A spot or speck is one thing, but a whole object is quite another. But this can also be fixed. The first steps will be the same as in the previous case. Open the photo, enlarge the desired part of the image and select the object with the lasso. Then also hit "Delete" and set "Based on content". To deselect the selection, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D. If some parts of the object still remain, you can remove them with a brush. Zoom in to 400% so the pixels are visible, then select the Eyedropper tool. Click on the area with the appropriate color. Next, select a brush and carefully paint over the excess areas. Please note that this method works exclusively on small objects.

To remove larger objects, you can dispose of the Stamp. With the tool selected, set the Opacity and Pressure to 100%. Select a shape with blurred edges so that the changes you make are as invisible as possible. Enlarge the desired area of the image. Press Alt on your keyboard to copy the background area, then start painting over the object. If the background is not uniform, press Alt and copy the necessary parts of the background. Select the required die diameter, it should not be very large. If done carefully enough, the changes will be completely invisible.

Let's move on to a more complex case. Let's take a look at how to remove a person from a photograph in Photoshop. To do this, you can use the already familiar Clone Stamp tool or apply a fill. First, select a person or part of it (depending on the background) and click "Fill (fill)", in the window that appears, select "Based on content". After that Photoshop will fill the area you marked with pixels that are close in color to the neighboring ones. If the background is not completely uniform, then some areas can be corrected with a stamp or brush. With such a combination of tools, you can achieve excellent results even on a complex background. The main thing is to work in pixel mode and utilize the small diameter of the brush. It is a delicate job, but the result is well worth it.

Content-Aware Filling

This problem can be solved using two tools: "Eyedropper" and "Brush". Having enlarged the part of the picture with the unnecessary inscription, select the background color with the eyedropper, and then paint over the letters with a brush. To make the changes as invisible as possible, work in pixel mode, adjusting the brush diameter, opacity and background color. The easiest option is to simply crop the image. Select the "Crop" tool and select the picture so that the unnecessary inscription remains clearly behind the selection line.

Open the picture in Photoshop and create a copy of it with the keyboard shortcut CTRL + J.

For convenience, we increase the scale of the image with a keyboard shortcut CTRL + plus.
Choosing a tool "Feather" and outline the icon along with the shadows.
Next, right-click inside the outline and select the item "Form selection area"... We expose the feathering 0 pixels.
After the selection is created, click SHIFT + F5 and select in the drop-down list Content-Aware.

Push OK, remove the selection with the keys CTRL + D and look at the result.
As you can see, we have lost part of the buttonhole, and the texture inside the selection is slightly blurred. The time has come "Stamp".

The tool works as follows: while holding down the key ALT a texture sample is taken, and then this sample is clicked into place. Let's try. First, let's restore the texture. For normal operation of the tool, it would be better to reduce the scale to 100%.
Now we will restore the buttonhole. Here we will have to cheat a little, since we do not have the necessary fragment for the sample. Create a new layer, increase the scale and, being on the created layer, take a sample with a stamp so that the area with the finishing stitches of the buttonhole falls into it. Then we click anywhere. The sample will be printed on a new layer.
Next, press the keyboard shortcut CTRL + T, rotate and move the sample to the desired location. When finished, click ENTER.

A photo session is a responsible business: light, composition and so on. But even with the most careful preparation, unwanted objects, people or animals can get into the frame, and if the frame seems to be very successful, then simply removing it does not raise a hand.

If this is some part of clothing, then it can be restored using the tool "Stamp", in the same case, when most of the body is covered, then such an undertaking will have to be abandoned.

For example, in the picture below, the man on the left can be removed completely painlessly, but the girl next to him is almost impossible, as she and her suitcase cover important parts of the neighbor's body.

The work of removing people from images can be roughly divided into three categories in terms of complexity:

In this case, everything is quite simple: you need to select the required person and fill him with white.

As a result, we get a photo without an extra person.

You could see an example of such a picture at the beginning of the article. When working with such photos, you will already have to use a more accurate selection tool, for example, "Feather".

We will delete the girl sitting second from the right.

Make a copy of the original picture, select the above tool and outline the character along with the chair as accurately as possible. It is better to displace the created contour towards the background.
Form a selection created using a path. To do this, right-click on the canvas and select the appropriate item.

Set the feathering radius to zero.
Remove the girl by pressing a key DELETE, and then deselect ( CTRL + D).
Next, the most interesting thing is the background restoration. We take "Straight Lasso" and select a section of the frame.
Copy the selected piece to a new layer with a hotkey combination CTRL + J.
Tool "Move" drag it down.
Copy the area again and move it again.
To eliminate the step between the fragments, turn the middle section slightly to the right using "Free transformation" (CTRL + T). The angle of rotation will be 0,30 degrees.

After pressing the key ENTER we get a completely flat frame.
We will restore the rest of the background. "Stamped".
The tool settings are as follows: Hardness 70%, opacity and pressure - 100%.

Next, let's get into the small details. The picture shows that after the removal of the girl, there are not enough areas on the jacket of the neighbor on the left and the hand of the neighbor on the right.
We restore these areas with the same stamp.
The final step will be to paint large areas of the background. It is more convenient to do this on a new layer.

Background restoration is complete. The work is quite painstaking, and requires accuracy and patience. At the same time, if you wish, you can achieve a very good result.

A feature of such images is the abundance of small details. You can take advantage of this. We will delete people who are on the right side of the photo. In this case, it will be quite possible to use Content-Aware Fill with subsequent revision "Stamped".

Copy the background layer, select the familiar "Straight Lasso" and circle the small company on the right.
Next, go to the menu "Selection"... Here we need a block "Modification" and the item titled "Expand".
We configure the extension to 1 pixel.
Hover the cursor over the selected area (at the moment we have activated the tool "Straight Lasso"), press PKM, in the drop-down menu we are looking for the item "Run Fill".
In the drop-down list of the settings window, select Content-Aware.
As a result of such filling, we get the following intermediate result:
With help "Stamp" let's move several areas with small elements to the place where people were. We will also try to restore the trees.

The company is gone, we move on to the removal of the young man.
We circle the boy. It is best to use the pen here, since the girl is in the way, and she needs to be circled as accurately as possible. Further, according to the algorithm: expand the selection by 1 pixel, fill it taking into account the content.

As you can see, parts of the girl's body were also included in the fill.
We take "Stamp" and, without removing the selection, we modify the background. In this case, you can take samples from anywhere, but the tool will only affect the area inside the selected area.

When restoring the background in landscape photographs, you should strive to avoid so-called “texture repeats”. Try to take samples from different places and not click on the site more than once.

For all its complexity, it is on such photos that you can achieve the most realistic result.

Stamp tool

Sometimes the first method may not be quite suitable for the purposes we need. But it doesn't matter. Photoshop almost always has several solutions for a specific task. And this case is no exception.

Let's take a picture of a beautiful view of the coast. A beautiful view, but as you can see, impudent birds flew past and got into the frame. I hit it nicely, but let's say it's not needed there.

Then we roll up our sleeves, take the lasso and do all the operations from the first paragraph. Let's see what we've got. Somehow not very good, right?

The "Stamp" tool will help us with this. This tool is somewhat similar to Healing Brush which we used, but there are differences. With the restoration brush, we took the donor area and painted over the unnecessary detail with it in such a way that then the colors that correspond to this area were superimposed. When stamped, nothing like that happens.

You don't need the skills of a professional graphic designer to do this. When it comes to image editing, Photoshop comes in handy - a fairly easy-to-use program, even for inexperienced users.

Steps

Removing text using the rasterization function

Understand that images are made up of different, distinct layers that include different colors, effects, graphics, and text. All of these layers make up the final image in Photoshop. They not only serve as the source for the final JPEG file, but also provide the final PSD file. If that doesn't tell you anything, then be aware that PSD is an abbreviation for the Photoshop document format.

Launch Photoshop from the start menu of your operating system programs. In the program interface that opens, select the "File" item in the main menu. Select the "Open" command from the expanded list of submenu. Find and open the required image through the opened program window.

Press Command + J (macOS) or Ctrl + J (Windows) to create a copy of the image first. This must be done so that the changes you make do not affect the original image. If you look at the Layers panel, you will notice that your image now has two layers. The original is safely positioned on a layer called "Background", while you will be working with a copy called "Layer 1" that sits on top of it.

On the right side of the interface, on the toolbar, select the "Layers" shortcut. Inside the toolbar window, right-click on the required layer and select the "Rasterize" item from the context menu. Select the Lasso tool from the toolbar options. Then select the part of the image you want to remove. Click the "Delete" button. In the program menu, click the "File" item and select "Save" to save the changes made.

Give the copy of the image a different name. It is a good idea to change the name of the copy of the image. Otherwise, you can easily confuse it with the original. So that you can easily figure out the layers of the image, for the copy you can leave the old name of the layer, but add the phrase "WITH REMOVED TEXT" to it at the end in capital letters.
- To do this, right-click on Layer 1. You will be given the option to rename the layer. Enter a new name. Press Return (macOS) or Enter (Windows) to save your changes.
Select the Lasso tool from the toolbar on the left side of the screen. Click next to the text. Draw a lasso around the text. Be sure to leave a small amount of indentation from the text when you stroke. This will allow Photoshop to better blend the colors to fill the area with the deleted text.

Click the "Edit" menu button and select "Fill" from the submenu that opens. Alternatively, you can simply press the Shift + F5 key combination. A window with the name "Fill" will appear on the screen. Select Content-Aware from the drop-down list under Use. Click OK. Wait for Photoshop to fill in the space left after deleting the text.

Press CTRL + D to deselect the image when the fill is complete. This will give you a better view of the result. Save the edited image. Once you are comfortable with this tool, it shouldn't take you more than a few seconds to remove text from images in the future.

Open the image in Photoshop. Press Command + J (macOS) or Ctrl + J (Windows) to create a copy of the image first. This must be done so that the changes you make do not affect the original image. If you look at the Layers panel, you will notice that your image now has two layers. The original is safely positioned on a layer called "Background", while you will be working with a copy called "Layer 1" that sits on top of it.

Give the copy of the image a different name. It is a good idea to change the name of the copy of the image. Otherwise, you can easily confuse it with the original. So that you can easily figure out the layers of the image, for the copy you can leave the old name of the layer, but add the phrase "WITH REMOVED TEXT" to it at the end in capital letters.

To do this, right-click on Layer 1. You will be given the option to rename the layer. Enter a new name. Press Return (macOS) or Enter (Windows) to save your changes.

Select the Clone Stamp tool from the toolbar. Alternatively, you can press the key combination "CTRL + S". Select a round brush with soft contours and set its hardness between 10-30% (this setting is suitable in most cases). Start by setting the Opacity to 95%. You can make changes to the settings later if necessary.

Click on the "Layers" panel. Select the original layer in the panel. Drag this layer onto the Create New Layer button, which is displayed as an icon to the left of the Trash Can. Alternatively, you can press CTRL + J to create a new layer.

Move the mouse cursor over a point close enough to the text. Hold down the "Alt" key and then left-click on the selected location. This place will be called the source. In fact, paint colors will be taken from this place to paint over the text.

Be careful not to select the source too close to the text, as it will get mixed up as you move the brush over the text. If you set the source too close to the text, you will copy the parts of the image that you want to delete. If the source is too far away, the background color may not be suitable for masking the area with letters to be deleted. In this case, the image will be noticeably distorted.

Go to the settings menu and turn on the "Alignment" option. This action allows you to select the current point as a permanent copy source. When you stop painting, be sure to turn off the align option before starting over. Re-enable this option after selecting a new copy source point.

Release the "Alt" key and move the mouse cursor to the place with the text that you want to retouch. Right-click to start painting over the text with the portion of the image copied from the source. Pay attention to the background lighting in the image. Make sure the area you are painting and the clone source are illuminated in the same direction.

Paint the text in small areas. You shouldn't cover the lettering with one long stroke. This will make your work look professional and not shameful. Keep working until you get the desired result.
