Yandex disk. How to install Yandex cloud and download on a PC (computer)?

Yandex disk (cloud) is a place where you can store your photos, movies and any files. It is possible to work remotely with documents when the Internet is connected.

When registering a new disk, 10 GB of space for storing your files is given as a gift forever. Further, this place can be increased, either by simply buying it, or by taking part in promotions. For example, until July 03, 2017, you can get 32 ​​GB as a gift - read the conditions for obtaining them at the end of this article.

Simple analogs are mail cloud and google disk.

Let's start configuring the disk, provided that you have already created Yandex mail.

How to install Yandex cloud?

To create a Yandex disk, go to your Yandex mail, at the top of the screen, click on the word DISK.

You can use the disc without even installing it on your computer, phone or tablet. You just need to have access to.

BUT, if you still want to install Yandex.Disk on your computer, read below, because it is very convenient.

A window will appear asking you to install it on your computer. You can download the disc now or do it later.

I will show you downloaded how the disc itself looks, and then how to download it on a PC.

Here is the cloud itself. A menu with your files is displayed on the left, by default several standard images are already added (you can delete them at any time). At the bottom left, you can see how much free storage space is already in use and a link to buy more.

How to download Yandex disk to your computer (PC)?

See screenshot above, click on the phrase Download disc for Windows.

The download of the installation file starts. I have a Google Chrome browser and the downloaded files are displayed in the bottom panel. You can have it, for example, in the DOWNLOADS folder on your computer.

Open the file after downloading.

Click START.

And the download of your Yandex disk begins.

Check or uncheck the checkboxes in the installation settings as you wish and click DONE.

Done! The computer application is installed.

By default, the Yandex.Disk folder will be displayed in File Explorer on your computer.

Click on GET STARTED and it will open the disc folder on your PC.

The screenshot below shows how this folder is displayed on my computer.

In this case, all files that have already been downloaded are displayed on your computer. And further documents and photos that will be uploaded will be visible both on your computer and on the Yandex disk itself, if you go to it through.

Now you can, without going into your mail and disk, directly upload files from your computer directly to a folder on your Yandex.Disk PC.

How to get additional space on Yandex Drive to store your files?

As I wrote at the beginning of the article, you are immediately given 10 gigabytes of free space. Then you can increase this place with paid or free methods.

With paid ones, it is clear, I want to stop at free ones. Yandex periodically runs promotions in which they give additional storage space for meeting certain conditions.

For example, from April 3 to July 03, 2017, there is a promotion for which you can get 32 ​​GB for free. To do this, you need to install a mobile application on your phone and upload at least 1 photo or video to it. Read more on the official website or in the screenshot below.
