All risks on his repetition when transferring BEST, all reading this article are carried on their own. On a new computer, the old version of the program has just installed from the original factory disk did not want to work with a newer version of the database (or the configuration version - which someone like it).

I had to understand how to update the version of the program to suitable for working with the database, removed from the previous computer.

Here in this proceedings and it turned out that the BEST program is curiously arranged. There is present in it such a concept as Service Pack. BEST-5 architecture has a curious design(as we imagine it). It is that the program has division to the application server and the applications themselves. But this package of updates during the installation process believed and found out that the period of paid update time ended earlier than the update itself came out and therefore it refused to be installed.

Okay. SERVICE PACK 31 was downloaded. He also checked the date and realized that the license paid by the company allows him to be established. But this pack has not been established. It turned out that the updates are not incremental and updated from 28 to 31 versions can not be immediately, it is possible only with prior, i.e. With the 30th.

Okay. By sometimes the confusing structure of the developer's website was found 29 and 30 Service Pack. And consistently installed. Only after that, 31 SPs were installed.

After all the updates given, the application server started correctly and allowed to run the applications themselves. The program saw the corresponding base of the enterprise accounting and provided the opportunity to work correctly with it.

For us, the mystery remained, whether the installed Service Pack was modified only by the application server, or they changed the version of the applications themselves and the database structure (although it is doubtful that the younger version installer changed the data structure of the older version).

One way or another, the transfer of the BEST-5 software package was built on the principle of the experiment and it was successful. The program works correctly, there were no data loss in the databases.

It is important to say that the transmission operation of BEST-5 in our case was not risky, because There was a source computer with a working version of the program and the database. Only after it became clear that the software works correctly and all its functions from the source computer, the BEST-5 program was removed.
